Hero bird. The cat is skill damage. Primarily in mages, you need skill damage and skill crit. What I'm suggesting is, when you get to where your skill damage in prayer is all triple S, I think the value in the hero bird is less important than the skill damage. The frequency of your skills being fired off is critical to damage overload, which is why skills like crimson moonfall or star array are helpful.
