You know... with Chaos being nerfed to oblivion (but he's still a strong character), while Asuka was only minorly weakened/nerfed (and is still top tier), I was eagerly waiting to see a clear advantage against Chaos as Asuka. Because Gobou mentioned that out of every character they used competitively, Asuka had the best chance/performance against Chaos (in season 2).
However, during one of Gobou's livestreams before A.B.A was released, I asked him this question while he was fighting ポメラニアン/ダルメシアン, *"ケイオス戦は不利なんですか"(Is the Chaos battle disadvantageous?)* - and Gobou's response was, *"不利なんじゃないかな"(I think it's a disadvantage)* - I know that normal shot is a big problem, and due to the nerfs that slowed down the traveling speed of the cubes, it's now harder to force the Chaos player to block and then start your offense as Asuka. I will say that Chaos is hard to use, and I respect the skill of those players, but perhaps we'll finally have our solid advantage in season 4...
Excellent performance from both players as usual, though.

Ngl you can really see the HC nerfs in how different the combos are and even how neutral is played for the HC player. Honestly makes me wonder what type of new move would they even give him when it gets around to dlc characters getting new moves as they’ve almost done the base roster.

The combo was heavily scaled and since wall break has a set amount of damage it can't go under, and Asuka's meter was broken, he took a ton more damage. For clarification btw WA did like no damage, just the actual wallbreak itself did.

It ain't the characters you should be worried about. It's the players.

@@UncannyAura Yep, Players are real problem. Again,If at full capacity the character puts you in air more than second. Steal your entire interaction still considered bad design regardless it's HC or Asuka. Whether they have MU or not.
@firetoofan5555 I guess you could say Chaos players may have reached maximum capacity with the character. But Gobou said that he doesn't know Asuka well enough to even make a character guide for it, so the same cannot be said for Asuka. And I can agree that our perceptions regarding what is good or bad character design varies from person to person, and I can respect that. However, I do want to ask you this question: If Asuka is as much of a problem, or as OP'd as the people in this comment section believe, then why is this character not dominating tournaments everywhere like Chaos did? Why are there only like 3-5 Asuka players in Asia that enter tournaments? And why are there no strong Asuka players in NA - despite being played by one of the best NA players of all time, PepperySplash? Zando is OK, but there are a lot of Asia Asuka players that don't compete in tournaments that are better with the character. And please don't say because he's technical - just about every top player has tried the character out at one point, so I'm sure character difficulty is not the main driver here.
@@waitingforzato-1i-noinguil301I didn't know much about Asuka but given information and observation considered the one of the hardest one compared to happy chaos because he still had rng based tools which required to memorize certain three sets which could be risky for the tournament. That doesn't mean players won't use this type of character for the tournament . We literally see three players using asuka in Arc Evo until pepper slapsh switched to johnny. Also he had teleport which still had a valid reason. Given how many rng sets if he is constantly able to ends up in a situation where he is capable of putting u in air and stealing your entire interaction with half ur life. Still considered the problem because he was capable to approach or keeping his distance with his teleport. At least Axl needs to move to the other side . Force u to deal with his random shat by playing touhou around you.
