Did Vinnie save KISS? Well...I had a conversation about Vinnie with Dana Strum back in 1992. Keeping in mind that this was a time when Dana would speak negatively in the press about his time in the Invasion, Dana did acknowledge that Vinnie DID save KISS.

I love the inspiration the Wiz gives. I want to rock the darkness like Vinnie rocked The Nightmare on Elm Street. I love to see the underdog beat incredible odds. Why so short? It's obvious he wants to talk for hours. Vinnie comes off as a kind soul, which is opposite of what Gene/Paul described him in KISS. So I'd wish Vinnie would be asked about why KISS thought he was given the keys to the kingdom and why he blew it. Gene/Paul made him sound like his ego was huge which is the complete opposite of now. Maybe Vinnie has matured, but that would be my 1st question.
Because this the time the QA was allotted at the convention. If you have ever interviewed people you would realize that isn’t a question that is going to be answered.

An for Vinnie well i said it before the man/whatever could write hell of catchy song and play his arse off in studio, but live Vinnie was sloppy an all over the place again EGO.
