Anyone old enough to remember the 'Morecambe Bowl' and it's GREAT Show band? Sadly, the town begun it's decline as a holiday destination in the early 1980's. Cheap foreign flights and package holidays........ Still miss the friends I made in Morecambe and Lancaster. 🤔
Wow, fantastic! I can see it's still the thriving town it was 20 years ago, when I left. I spent many a rainy day in Johnny's Amusements, and just hearing the sound of the wind brings back memories. You could get up quite some speed along the prom, with the wind at your back! Ah...good days

there used to be a character at work that used to take a week off "sick " and go up there every year . Apparently there was all these fellas stuck in a attic of a boarding house and they were complaining it was like a Concentration camp , so the idea was to book at the Midland and a good time was had by all . Everybody to their own ? !. Very droll, liked the bit about prices being subject to change due to high gambling debts
The sad thing is that it’s now actually worse than shown in this video, the Super Bowl has gone and Mega Zone was burnt down, what a shit hole, so glad I moved away
Depends where you are in Morecambe, you can have a great day out if the weather is ok, Try Happy mount park, and Bare in general. Just remember a place is only as good as the people that live there. Morecambe is always going to be the poor relation of Lancaster the same as Lancaster will always be the poor relation of Preston.
I live in Morecambe and I agree with this video, it is a shithole but tbh, if I didn't live here, I would never have such amazin friends as I do today XD and I wouldn't have so many drunk memories!!
Morecambe is working hard to regenerate itself and I for one am proud to live in such an area of outstanding beauty. We just need rid of the scuzzers that constantly slate it and probably sit in the Arndale all day whilst we go out to work and pay for you. And as for the jumped up little idiot that made this film....
It's an apathetic, depressing no good, run-down, hopeless craphole of a town, apart from about 20 nice people who live there, most are sleeping zombies who do nothing, know nothing, think nothing, and are interested in nothing. End result: Morecambe.
