I was lucky enough to find the 18 at only slightly over MSRP, but have never had a chance to try the 17. From the various comparisons and descriptions I have seen though, the 18 would seem to be the better fit for my tastes, which is good! The 18 is phenomenal and does the special whiskey things you expect from such a bottle, regardless of what some might say.
