    Brio I've been working on this same saw for a week, rebuilt carb twice, new carb, bells and whistles, the exhaust tip, had my saw running beautifully before your video was even done playing
    Thanks

    I used your method and it worked great, once I mixed some fresh fuel. I have a question, the blades continue to cut even at idle. Do I need to tighten the shaft screws a bit more or is there another way to adjust? It’s quite disconcerting for it to be cutting off the throttle….
    Thanks

      You would want to lower the idle. If that doesn't work your clutch could be stuck

      @@PNWSmallEngineandLawn thanks, I don’t suppose you have a video on clutches do you?

    I have one like that. It looks brand new because it never starts.
    I have another one that’s Old Faithful - dependable.
    I’m determined to get the useless one working again, so I’ll try this. I’ve replaced or cleaned every other possible culprit.

      You could also have a bank crank seal. That is a very common issue for stihl

      @@PNWSmallEngineandLawn I purchased a new HS45 a few years ago as I have 3 older stihl chainsaws that are great, a Magnum, farm boss and miniboss. The new HS45 would die mid throttle, back to the stihl "authorised" dealer, what a waste of time, they had no idea, Stihl warranty is non-existent in Australia, you get a 1-2 warranty, once you bought it, its too late, any and all issues are due to actually using the tool.
      Read somewhere to replace the carby, on a brand new tool! I thought its useless and going in the bin anyway, I'll try it, $18 carby from ebay, all good, runs as it should have from new. But, I will never buy another new stihl product again.

    I have a Stihl weed eater straight shaft what makes it vibrate when giving it gas

    • @PNWSmallEngineandLawn
      @PNWSmallEngineandLawn  ปีที่แล้ว

      It could have something loose but most likely either needs a tune up or carb needs to adjusted/cleaned

    Is the fuel mix the same as my sthil saws? I use Supreme with sthil mix.. saws run awesome but this machine sucks just wondering if the fuel should be different.

    • @PNWSmallEngineandLawn
      @PNWSmallEngineandLawn  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It should 50/1. Most newer machines take that ratio. I would look around the machine or on it's fuel cap to verify but it should take the same fuel

      All the hs45 s are grumpy little bitches they all do it.break the black caps off the adjusting screws. Just pull them off and get rid of them then you’ll be able to turn them for desired tuning

    Just got this 1 used it runs fine until u turn it on its left side and it shuts off. Will restart. What should i look at first. Tank is full

      I would check the length of the fuel line or fuel filter

  • @Thebowzer221
    @Thebowzer221 ปีที่แล้ว

    So i have 1 that does not start. The screw to the right 1 and a half turns out> the screw to the left 1 turn out. This should at least start the hedge trimmer. then what, set high idle screw then the low screw on the left. (it did start but was doing exactly what your machine was doing. couldn't throttle it up without dyeing)

    • @PNWSmallEngineandLawn
      @PNWSmallEngineandLawn  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would turn both to 1.5 turns out. Turn the screw that is closest to the intake when it's idling in until it starts to die then turn that screw out until it runs smooth and turn maybe 1/8 more. Rev it up and start turning out the other screw until it starts to run smooth. I also have a tuning video that might help th-cam.com/video/plEEkgvelrc/w-d-xo.html

      So generally the screw closest to the engine is the low jet and the one closest to the air filter is the high jet?

    I have an hs45.it has never run right even from day one.just a grumpy little machine and I have owned tons and tons of yard equipment in my 70 years.This is one of the worst I’ve ever owned.Luckily I have a good friend who is a ticketed small engine mechanic.I can do most of my repairs when needed but once in a while I get stumped.so today was one of those days.First thing to do is take the spark arrest or out of the muffler and cut the screen off.I do this to all my small engines.it will carbon up and just mess up everything.next is to break off those black caps on the adjusting screws on the carb.the slow speed screw will be the main culprit because when it gets to the stop with the black limiter cap you can’t tune it properly.you can also turn it hard past the wide open stop with the caps on just keep torquing it and the screw will turn.it’s the only way when you can’t tune it with the caps on.another thing that will bog the engine down is the gearbox.the grease supplied is very thick and lumpy. And doesn’t distribute properly I spray some some liquid lube in there to thin it out just a bit and it’ll run like there’s no tomorrow.the EPA might not like the carb tuning but that model of zama carb is notorious for being Non tunable.

    • @PNWSmallEngineandLawn
      @PNWSmallEngineandLawn  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ya. I am not a fan of these or Stihl in general but I agree with the Zama carb being non tunable

    Inyetrsting reading the comments on here. I also have an HS45. What a nasty, vindictive frustrating p.o.s. it is. Always has been. You're on a job, the meter's ticking and you can easily spend 5 minutes getting the little sod started. Then it's either still cutting at idle or cutting out at idle - cant find a sweet spot. Stihl? Overrated. Best machines by far in my van are Honda & Cobra

      You probably have a crank seal going out or some other type of vacuum leak. I agree, they are not that great

      @PNWSmallEngineandLawn totally BUT when it's working it does a good job - blades, weight, balance...all spot on. But a piece of shit engine 😢
