      Please consider Jack Kerouac's On The Road but specifically the "Original Scroll" version, it's glorious. Otherwise, I'd love to recommend Alan Watts - The Wisdom of Insecurity; Gabor Mate - In The Realm of Hungry Ghosts; Stephen Fry - The Liar.
      Thanks for all the content, the A6X2 is on my lap and I'm enjoying it every day!

      I love the discworld series by Terry Pratchett. There's a lot of books in that series and they all sit around the very menagable 200-300 pages.
      Three body problem is good sci-fi.

      Who is your favourite author ? Mine is Tolkien of course. Others think LOtR is just about fairies and goblins, I think it is the greatest, but each to their own. Read 100 pages and make up your own mind. My favourite living author is Janny Wurts who will publish the final volume in her Wars of Light and Shadow saga this year.

    I'm returning the new Kindle paperwhite, as i thought i needed the light. I just clip on a book light that can go orange for night to remove blue light. For ebook, being able to use supernotes "digest" to highlight and then write a note on that highlight is priceless. I then export the notes to Quizlet app for my business ebooks.
    Kindle app lets you not only do Whisper Sync and the fan favorite "immersion reading", no kindle has the latter. Its not perfect but it allows me to run audible and change the pages and keep my eyes near where they need to be. Since i often daydream the current thought and lose track.
    Last but not least, A6X2 in landscape, writes like a A5 in portrait, but you can carry it anywhere.
    I hope people have, at least, half as much joy as i am lol.
    Cheers to no distractions!

      @KitBetts-Masters  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep, agree with all of that! Cheers to you. Wouldn't it be amazing if you could highlight bits from your kindle reading and keep them in your digest?! I gest you could export your notes from the kindle app and add them in, but that would probably be a lengthy and frustrating work around. :-)

      @@KitBetts-Masters I’m really hoping that could be possible somehow. I just got the A6x2 and I think it’s strange that I can “copy” what I’ve highlighted in the Kindle app and it causes a small message to appear saying it’s been copied to the clipboard, but there’s no way to paste text on the SN os, as far as I can tell. I’m not sure it’s even “copying” in the first place. I’m really loving the Nomad, but as a tool for writers it would be verrrrry useful to add text copy/paste functionality.

    Can you make a more in-dept review about reading on the Supernote? I just can not find a good video. I mean the Kindle app is there, but I would like to see how I could open my already owned books. DRM books are not an issue, I always de-DRM my books (like what I bought from the google store for example). How does that look like in the Supernote app? How is the page turning, annotations, highlighting or underlining, etc. I could not find any Supernote device near to me to try it out. I have a Boox Mini C, and I enjoy reading on it, but I just realized that I do not use the color screen at all, and actually I just only write my diary and organizer on it besides reading. So I just do not need the functionality, and I heard many bad things about the Onyx company (bad customer service, cracking screen everywhere).

    I waited years of my life to get into eink because I only knew of Kindle (oh the ignorance) and they were stuck on the 4th gen Paperwhite forever. All I wanted was warm white and USB C and they refused to budge for such a long time. Then I went crazy and bought all the devices starting August 2021. Well four anyway…
    Supernote would have to be one of the most obscure brands, but their X2 devices have shed that homemade feel, and look very refined. I hope they just bite the bullet and process taxes on their end for international shipping.

    My daughters got me into the Irish writers Claire Keegan and Sally Rooney. Keegan’s books are short (maybe count two as one?) but they are great, best quality fiction out there. I am retired and have made it a goal to read as many “classics” as I can. I have fallen in love with Tolstoy, Eliot, Cervantes and others but I don’t think they make good reading challenges. They should be read with care and enjoyed over time. One more nonfiction-Humanly Possible: Seven Hundred Years of Humanist Freethinking, Inquiry and Hope by Sarah Bakewell. A great book of history. (Retired means I have way too much time to answer these kind of questions)

    • @KitBetts-Masters
      @KitBetts-Masters  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Awesome, I will check out your two Irish writers and the Sarah Bakewell. Any titles you would recommend as a first intro to Keegan and Rooney? I'm also a big fan of Tolstoy, I've tried my best to read everything he wrote, I've read the big ones at least two times, and probably War and Peace 4 times, in total. I used to just flick it open and read wherever I would land, and I would just get sucked in and an hour or so later remember what I was supposed to be doing! I think probably Resurrection is objectively his best though. Also read a Cervantes and a bit of Eliot, but not masses! Many kind thanks for the recommendation.

I think I was too young when I first picked up "Crime and Punishment" and didn't get through it. I have since revisited it and enjoyed it very much. Audiobooks are not “reading.”
    If you were learning maths for the first time, how much would you retain in your listened to it? If you were learning to code, how much would you keep by listening. Reading is different from listening to a narrative. You might as well just watch dialog heavy movies and call it a novella

      I understand, I think I mentioned it is cheating a little. Call it consuming 104 books on a year if you like. Although I do pause sometimes to think. Cheers!)

      The TV is in essence a visual format for content and a loss of visual information would hinder the ability to engage with the content. The same is not true of a book. A more apt comparison would be radio, which hosts a variety of programs that can engage listeners intellectually.

    I don't get it. The title ire "reading" on Supernote but there is typing, there is speed read performance, there is switch between notes, but there is not one single page flipping demo of how it is of the actual "READING" on it in this video.
    And this situation is so common in all the review video of E-ink devices, they talk about everything, the size, hand held, materials, all kind of functions, but so few of them demon the "reading" - FLIPPING SOME PAGES which is a big part of the real usage of e-ink devices.

Looking at your video, the screen on the supernote seems very white indeed, more like a blue tint and that would bother me I think. Was thinking of getting supernote a6 size (whichever model is available now for cheap) but was concerned about reading experience as I read quite a lot pdfs and also use kindle app. My concern about kindle app is gone with your video. But still wondering how the pdf reading experience is? Or epub too without on kindle app, can I mark epubs on supernote if I sideload them? Is there any option for wireless transfer? Most videos are about writing but couldn't find much about reading on supernote. Backlight is not a fact for me as I use a book lamp even with my boox.
