For me, I think it'd be better to just change the name to Brookes University. Some of the best universities in the world are named after people (eg Harvard, Yale, Stanford) and nothing else. If they are good enough they don't need to worry people don''t know where they are or the brand isn't strong enough with just the person's name. In the UK, they don't do this however (Liverpool John Moores, Brunel University London, Edinburgh Napier and maybe others). I find this way of naming unnecessary.

0:48 I agree, I'm also a student at Brookes and I like how modern and spacious Headington Campus really is! Oxford is a lovely city, great for nightlife too! And lots of nearby great places for day trips too if you're bored of the city 😀
2:04 Both Atik and Plush are great nightclubs. Quite cheap, especially Plush! Bridge too is good, but only really late at night (about 1-2 in the morning), otherwise it's quite dead at 10 or 11 in the evening
3:20 Alternatively, you can park at the Park & Ride sites and get the bus to city centre, saves all the hassle of driving in the city centre!
3:40 Yep Oxford definetly is expensive. That said the halls of residences are actually not too bad, where I am currently (Parade Green) is about £170 per week which is not too bad at all! Which halls of residence did you stay at, btw, during your time in Brookes?
5:35 Public transport is definitely amazing in Oxford. Frequent routes, connects all areas of the city, and the day ticket is not too bad either! (Only £4.50)

@@xrzezero I would say probably yes. Some of my friends in my course often don't attend some lectures, and it was getting very frequent that our teacher for this module was getting worried that they were missing all the lectures!

This question might sound a bit strange but what are the people like there? Are there lots of different diverse groups? It just worries me because I'm coming from an art based college in London and I feel as though there won't be many people like me . It's my firm choice either way but I just wanted to settle any anxiety
Its Europe, not America. You can't expect different diverse groups everywhere living in England.

@Eli House yeah its like that everywhere nothing new but the person is asking about culture, ethnicities, and their attitudes. Drugs are drugs, you either an addict or the "every once in a while with the friends" type. Nothing unusual for university students, and using them doesn't make you cool or whatever, its for you and for your own enjoyment, but yeah ...don't do drugs kids 😊😊 ehehehehe...

I went to the applicant day and felt really outcasted, I was one of very few Asians amongst many white people. I really like the uni but I don't feel like I fit in? Is it different from when university actually starts?

omg I am asian too and I went to the applicant day too!! I think I am most likely going to this uni but I scare I am the only international student at my course... :(
Is it ok if I not join in the fun of night life? Night parties are not really a thing for me , takes a toll on my energy level.

Terrible choice for a masters program. Dissertation advisors are remiss, constantly on vacation. My classmates could not get good jobs and had to return home to India and Bangladesh after the program. Basically a for profit uni at the masters level

I have received offer letters in Msc Management in health and social care at Oxford Brookes University and Healthcare Management at Coventry and Swansea.
Can you suggest me which one should I choose?
i've applied to msc data science but the course is new and don't have accredation, should I pursue this or msc data analytics from University of huddersfield which has BCS accreditation.

Hi. I have got offer from Oxford Brooks and Cardiff university. Which one should I choose? Which university has better chance of getting a job?
About getting a job: I think what matters a lot more for employers is the final result of your degree. If you achieve an upper second or first class, no one is going question which university you studied at, that’s what I’ve heard at least.
What are you going to study? If anything related to biological sciences or architecture, I can difinitely recommend Brookes, but I don’t know anything about Cardiff.

@@puurabigoyaary1772 I have read…it was ranked 2nd in teaching excellence in 2019 in 12 subjects including business which is one main reason it intrigued me to accept the offer for upcoming September intake 2022..so I guess u have made the right choice!

Oxford Brooke's vs Bournemouth University? for Hospitality and Tourism management
Oxford Brookes all the way buddy. It tops the rankings for the course in the UK, actually I think one place behind Uni of Surrey. You’re also 1 hour train away from London which would be a great experience. I got accepted there for hospitality and tourism management. But i’m deciding between oxford brookes and newcastle and uni of manchester for my studies

honestly thinking of going here but im afraid that the uni is a bit small how many people roughly would u say go here ?
around 20,000 the campus is a bit smaller than some yes, however it is always full of people and has a great atmosphere so I wouldn't worry about the size :)

I’d say both are good, Queens has pros like being in the RG and one of the cheapest students costs in the UK, but brookes is in Oxforddd, facilities are amazing and although it’s not a redbrick uni it’s the best expoly from what I’ve heard :)

At the outset, you need to explain that Brookes has no relationship to the big O. Also, does O. get any kickbacks for using their name? Is it legal even to use that name?
It's the name of a place its gotta be legal
ofc it's legal, it's the name of a city, both of the unis are named after the Oxford city
