One man fighting against a whole community for the sake of his daughter speaks volumes of his bravery and immense love for his daughter. Society deserves such people. Salute to this man. ❤
Rape is not sex. It is a violent hate crime. It is done to ensure that the victim is emotionally, mentally and physically badly wounded. Forcing the victim to marry the attacker is another violent assault.
Obviously to some women it is like the one saying they should marry the victim with the perpetrator. For a more recent example I would point to the trial of Eligio Bishop for rape which just ended a few days ago. The victim is on tape saying they made love ,after the rape incident but eventually changed her mind saying it was just rape no love once she realized she cannot make him renounce his other wives. He was found guilty. These things are very weird.
Just the fact that some of the villagers spewed this idea of marriage as if it was a sound idea has me shook and re evaluating my own ideology. Like they were so sure it was the right thing to do with no questions. Makes one want to practice the “question everything” way of living.
