So many race fans are so snake fascinated with trucks, xfinity, and
cup and don't realise this modified
division is the best division in NASCAR and also the oldest.
It doesn't get any better than this!
And it doesn't cost an arm and a leg
to buy a ticket and have a nice time.

I agree. I was infield with the modified guys, mainly for Andy Seuss and his family and crew.

As a mere fan/spectator i knew from past mod races here it would be a great race --- yet i still found myself smiling from ear to ear in amazement almost every lap the first 40 laps , as I and my 10 yr old son (his first live race) found ourselves watching what seemed like P1 through P3 literally swapping almost every single green flag lap - just AWESOME to watch . Then rains hit, and despite our ponchos-on and staying put in our seats, knowing we had 2 and a half hour ride home, I told John "we may have to get going bud.", but he said no Dad i really want to stay for the end. Well how could i say no to that, and so glad we did - we felt like we had the south end frontstretch stands to ourselves for those final laps, with more passing for the lead and of course the thriling last lap. Still smiling knowing we saw this live, indeed a thriller and thanks to these teams/drivers for almost never disappointing. 35 second win for Verstappen in F1 yesterday? Sorry i'll take this over that anyday

There have been very few modified races at Loudon that weren’t thrilling. They always make everyone else look amateurish lol.

No gimmicks, no stages, just green flag to checkers. Yet they put the other series that are televised to shame. More green flag passes for the lead in 5 laps than the other 2 series will have combined for the entire weekend.

It just sucks because they all have to buy the same motor parts from one place. Took the variety out of it.

@@funnycardriverat the same time, 90% of these teams wouldn’t exist if they had to build their own parts

@@Liamflynnphoto typical NASTYCAR stuff, you can only buy parts from one company,, so only one gets rich, along with kickbacks to them. It’s happening in the top class too. It takes the innovation out of the sport.

    • @Liamflynnphoto

@@funnycardriver and without that one company delivering standardized parts, then the modified series disappears as teams spend more and more money building their own parts while trying to get an advantage

@@Liamflynnphoto so you are ok with being forced to buy the same more as the guy next to you??
I guess I’m a little smarter then that, I like to use my head and try things, not be told that you have to buy motor parts from this one place.
Look at what happy to the IROC series, these aren’t far behind, the car counts prove it.

They also in the 1970'S, ran a road course at Daytona international speedway called permatex 100 through the infield. I would post a pic but I can’t- there was one guy a few years ago, took one of these on a dirt track- it was highlighter yellow. It almost looked photoshopped as it’s so far away from what the car was made for. Shame it didn’t take off
