This is perhaps one of the best short films I have ever seen, amazing work. I have lived in the town since I was born 25 years ago. Keep up the good work and keep making your videos! 😀

As usual, Don has given us a brilliant, totally absorbing video of our local history. The accompanying music is first class. Well done everyone. What a sad day for Stowmarket and surroundings.

An excellent production, the story told through song was incredible, full of historical information but made in a way that it felt very personal to Mary Mount & her family. Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this production & story to life.

I watched this with interest, though I have never been to this area. I have ancestors from Thetford and Bury St Edmunds. A friend on Facebook sent me the link as Mary shares the Surname of Mount with me. However we are not related. It’s a great piece and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it.
Thank you Lynne for sending me the link.

What a sad and interesting piece of history! Fantastic work, Don (and of course all those who acted and those who wrote and performed the music👍). Really enjoyed watching that, from start finish! All the best👍😊

@@Walksandwanders I can well imagine the work that went into it! Will be doing a screening on the TV for Maria 👍😊

Just played it for Maria. She reckons it was good enough for TV. Afraid I blubbed like a baby again even on the second viewing.

@@DesGreene Aw wow! Thank you for that encouragement. Sorry for the emotional overload- but as you say, such a tragic story, but one I felt needed telling. Thanks Des.

My relative was 12 year old Alfred Bloom. I believe he used to walk from Haughley.

Wow! This is the thing isn’t it - each of those 28 names has their own story. The half has not been told of the huge impact on families in and around the town. And I wonder how each family coped with the grief and loss too. Such a sad loss.
