Kayak Q yea I was actually always wondering why certain people reeled it in like that , or why the handle is usually on the right side on conventional reels but it totally makes sense and is comfortable when you actually get it down

Nathan Cullins I lost some bottom fishin in this video just kinda getting stuck in rocks but maybe a shark as well and on my flat line it probably was a kingfish maaaaaybe wahoo that cut me off above the wire
Just because it is not an eating fish or a so called trophy or game fish. That is still a badass catch dude

Butters Kayak Absolutely, and the shark wasn’t even making big runs...
Good job showing the fighting technique. The more one can rotate the waist and shoulders, the less strain on the arms. The biggest help on straight up and down fish is a two-speed reel. Been there done that many times with the spoiler shark. Makes the argument for a rubber band attached sinker all that much more. Just yank it off and fight the fish all the way to the top with the rod and reel. Snapper and grouper will float, but for incidental King, Cuda, Jack or shark, rubberband attached weight is the way to go.
Kayak Fishing Adventures yea I haven’t done the rubber band method to be honest but I need to however for specifically targeting bottom fish idk if I would go with that method. I’ve been putting this single speed fury through the paces it’s surprisingly tough so far but when I lock down the drag it’s not a smooth transition from free spool to strike like my dauntless
