    ,.........The private sector like UPS anf Fedex actually pay their Drivers more than Canada Post pays their Drivers. The Public enjoys cheaper prices using Canada Post then UPS and Fedex because Canada Post has cheaper labour costs for their Drivers.
    People at Canada Post are underpaId. Canada Post froze the wages for 10 years under Harper and took half the Benefits away. The workers took a pay cut. Now the workers are trying to recover some of their lost pay. It is not the workers fault Canada Post is so poorly managed. Losing $ 3 billion over six years is bad management. Drivers at UPS and FEDEX are paid more than at Canada Post. Facts.......

      What do you expect them to do? Just roll over and keep working increasing daily hours without ever getting the yearly raise that is promised, keep working in conditions where their request for better safety equipment and fair working conditions isn't being met?
      It's not Canada Posts employees fault they're on strike. It's the people who made the contract to give them raises and fair work conditions, but they aren't living up to their promises.
      What do employees do when the government is trying to cut corners and take advantage of employees?

    According to CBC Tue, November 19, 2024 at 7:26 p.m. EST· Service Canada is holding 85,000 passports as Canada Post strike continues. Employment and Social Development Canada said that "in anticipation of a potential labour disruption," Service Canada stopped mailing passport packages on Nov. 8 - a week before Canada Post workers walked off the job. They lied. They sent my passport to Canada Post on November 12th - so now I am S.O.L. and the Passport Office won’t answer the phone, won’t offer an email address, won’t give me any way to find out what, if anything, can be done to get my passport to me. A pox on both their houses!

      If CP needs to be profitable then they are doomed. Nobody is sending letters anymore. Couriers can deliver parcels way cheaper as they are not paying pensions and benefits and they operate 7 days a week. CP are like government and have that government mentality. The private sector will mop the floor with them. So there is no way CP can compete. These postal employees are out of touch with reality and might be striking their way out of a job.

    • @ruthkirkparick3535
      @ruthkirkparick3535 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sblack48 They are not making a living wage, their health and safety protections are being threatened as well as their pension. If CP needs to be profitable the executives need to rethink their own compensation. The Federal government also needs to rethink how they allow CP to be run, putting their taxpayer funded service and the rights of CP employees before the very generous executive compensation and the so-called need for profitability. The need for a public lettermail service is bigger than most people realize or CP would have gone the way of the dodo already.

    I hope and pray this happens soon. My husband is a postal worker. I have been off work since April. I'm newly diagnosed with ms. MY sick benefits have been out since the beginning of October 5th. So we have no savings and need this income. How can they justify their workers possibly becoming homeless? I have lots of medical appointments coming up. How will I afford the gas? Please I am pleading to whoever, please make a deal. It's so unfair to go through this. We got free food from our MLA. But we don't get child tax or any other benefits. 😢 my husband and I take a lot of medication. I am a diabetic as well. So, no medical insurance while on strike. No money, only 50.00 a day for strike pay when you work tye strike line. I hope my husband and all his coworkers get what they deserve faster so we don't end up in a worse situation.

    Thwre used to be regulations to keep Ceos on par with there employees. No executive in the past was able to make more then ten percent of lowliest worker. Certainly in public service field. Whether there executives on hospital boards. School boards or Canada Post. They saw fit to up it to twenty for themselves then erase that cap entirely. . These same executives or council members complaining about greed. Yet during a time of all of them united in losing money as a result of public sector have been exponentially increasing their bonuses and salaries. Why are they being rewarded so handsomly when according to them they cannot operate any linger and decrease services and wages. Unless they are doing there jobs and dismantling healthcare postal and social services ti business interests. When did business leaders become morality police calling people unable to survive greedy

    It’s on strike. Both parties are affected the more so to the poor employees. Do give what they want, they deserved a raise. It was since 2018 inflation that you didn’t give them even a single cents. Minimum wages increased, but nothing for Canada Post employees. People think they have everything and some people say they’re greedy, but if you know the real situations, you will say they need a raise too. Living pay check to pay check is not good. They need good and fair negotiations. It’s about time. Please hear their voice.
