You in this video was how i was When i first watched this mv. Only i was about to sleep lying on my bed. SUCH A BEAUTIFUL POWERFUL SONG to evoke this emotion. The lyrics, melody and vocals brings every loving children to tears.
My father worked overseas and he died in there, he only came home once when i was in grade 2, he died when i was in grade 6. I don't have a very good memory of my childhood but i remember him puting on music (he loved music) and doing silly dances for me and my older brother to make us laugh while my mom is cooking, we don't usually eat in a dining table when we were little, but during those months he always insist on eating together. Im so sad I can't payback his sacrifices for us, but i hope i can do that to my mama❤
@@zizii_998 I feel that - thank you for sharing your story and being vulnerable - I hope you and your family can eat more together in memory of your dad ❤❤
Yes i agree, although they did release the Selecta mv, i thought it was pure genius of them that they first released this just as a lyric video, it became personalized for every viewer who can relate to the song... 💘
You made me remember the first time I heard this song… 5AM, Spring 2021, the sun is already on the way up (it was looking to be a good day)… song plays, tears just streaming from my eyes non-stop. My wife woke up, found me inconsolable in a corner. She asked me why am I crying. I can only say “…SB19”. She the asked, “one of them died?”. I said no, listen to their new song Mapa. She did and we were crying together. We haven’t gone home to visit them for nearly 6 years by then because of the pandemic. We were about to go home in June 2021 but it was not about to happen. Took us a good 30mins more before we composed ourselves. Thank God, our daughter was still asleep. So, yeah… you’re not alone in this.
Same here. i was so surprised, i first dismissed this when a male friend kept on telling me about this song. I was so irritated back then because i thought it was a love song of the boyfriend/girflriend type. I first got curious about GENTO i thought it was some random international band. And the rest was history (of losing sleep watching everything about SB19 😂) so i was taken aback that MAPA was also by SB19. I then went to watch this as i was about to sleep. It was a crying fest for me until sleep took over after about an hour of crying. Both my parents passed away circa 2000.
💯 agree. It got me thinking, could it be the reason why they only released a lyric video at first. so that viewers will have their own personalized "video" playing in their memory... heartfelt song, i can't stop listening to it...
seeing you being emotionally driven by this song only proves that you love your parents very much as much as they love you since the day they brought you here in this world. Also kudos to your parents for raising you well.
This is my most favorite SB19 song ever.. And today I gifted my mom and dad tickets to see SB19 fan meet it just started awhile ago in Manila, my mom is also an SB19 Tita😘😘😘😘
😭😭😭 I never listened to "MAPA" since it was released. I'd been hearing it around me, but I didn't pay attention to the lyrics because I knew what it was all about. When it was released, I was in my first two years of working and had to leave my family to support them. During that time, my mom was always sick, and it was the pandemic. I knew that listening to this song would break my heart. I don't have any dreams for myself ever since my mom and my father got sick. My dream is to spend time with them where I don't have to leave, but I just can't because I have to provide for them. Watching you crying brought out all the tears I kept from avoiding this song, "MAPA."
Sb19 has the ability to speak to our hearts and for our hearts - be it in ballads like this or encouraging hype songs like Bazinga or Crimzone or songs about desire, unrequited love, love that is pledged, loneliness but always leaves us with hope.
This just shows that you grew up being loved by your parents, kudos to them and virtual hugs to you. This RV got me to subscribe to your channel. The beauty of SB19's songs is that they are all chock full of meaning and wise words to take away with you after you delve into the lyrics. One reason why being an A'tin (fan) brings you into a greater community that is like family that crosses borders. Looking forward to more from you. 🫂🫂🫂
This MAPA lyric video is the first song that led me to SB19.❤ Never fails to make the tears flow for me as well, in loving remembrance of my parents now long gone. Just let it flow, it is therapeutic too in times when you miss them the most. Their performance with Ben&Ben which is a band version also worth watching. It also has an MV as part of Selecta Ice cream promo, another nice one to see.
Warning: Long Message ahead. Message below aims to answer some of your questions you have in mind. Hope this helps. (1) MaPa = Mama and Papa (Parents) (2) Mapa = Map (English) (3) MaPa = Mata and Paa (Eyes & Feet) (4) Lataratara = There is no direct translation (Prolly) for this. This is a lullaby, a hymn normally our Mom makes every time she puts us to sleep. Remember our [1]MaPa normally just utter any sound tucking us in. Our Map is our [1]MaPa in this Life journey. Both used and present on this song. This is a masterpiece written by Pablo in collaboration with the rest of SB19. The release of the magical song was intended between the mother’s day and father’s day since the song is for them. This is a love letter to our parents. For some if not most, we barely tell our parents how we feel inside. This masterpiece will help us do another move to tell them how much we value and love them. In the song, “we will never get lost because we have the Mapa (Map)”. The map represent our parents. The things they taught us, the sacrifices, the advice they give and hardships. We will never get lost so long as we have the Map (Map). The Map that we can bring anywhere we go. The map that contains all the leanings and guidance our [1]MaPa gave us. In the Filipino culture (or prolly in other culture), we children have great regard to our parents / elderly. Most of us we would want to give back. Times wherein we just want our parents to stay still, we want to serve them and it’s time for us (children) to do the rest. We want them to rest from the tiresome days and time they give and sacrifices for us. This song hits the hardest if we have those regrets if not being able to give back and let them rest from those tiring days they spent for us. Regrets prolly due to some unforeseen events. Event where they can no longer hear our “thank you” and gratefulness towards them. Regrets prolly because we don’t have the capability yet of returning the favor (though they never ask for it). Regrets prolly because we are far from them and this pandemic is hindering us of being with them or for any reason. Normally our parents (MaPa) would not share how hard life is, they would not tell us how tight things are. They would always keep inside them the struggles they are facing and normally they will always show their happy face for us not to worry. There’s this Filipino saying “isusubo nalang nila, ibibigay pa sa’yo” This can be translated as our parent always put us first. First part of the song, Justin talks about how our parents (MaPa) prioritize us in all aspects. In the Filipino culture, remember the day when you as a kid cries asking for a balloon and our parent would graciously get some coins and buy one for you. That moment we can only see the our happiness for getting what we simply want, but we cannot see their smile because we are happy with a simple thing. Josh’s part where he heed the memories and advise his (a) father gave him. That even though they are not together he promised of keeping them. Remember a milestone in our lives, our first step as a baby? Those gently hands guiding not just our ways but most making sure that if we fall, they are there willing to Catch and pick us up and encourage us to try again. For Single parents out there, you both the Ma and Pa. you alone is the Mapa. For those OFW parents (MaPa) doing the great sacrifices for their Kids, Salute! Those OFW Kids making every effort to provide and give back their MaPa’s, Salute. Watching this masterpiece brings me home every time. Let’s not wait for the time where we regret.. call them now and let them know how much we love and treasure them. Each one of us has a story to tell with regard to our MaPa and Mapa. I wanna hear em. You may share and comment your story here. This second single, MAPA answers the “Where” from this comeback. IF the song “What” is proudly swinging our Flags, this “Where” is talking about our Origin, our parents and wherever we go, we will always go back to ur family. This masterpiece deserves to be heard around the Universe. This song deserves to be sang only by SB19 in different language respectfully. This Love letter hits us Filipino the most because it’s on the original language. The world deserves to hear this on their own language. Petition for our boys (EsBi) to do so. And hey, Watch out for the Easter eggs in the ending Map.
Dude I have watched almost all of the MAPA reactions here in yt and I think you just broke a record. Justin hadn't even finished his bit yet and you're already crying. So sorry to hear about your dad.
I think what hits you even more about it is that you can understand Tagalog so the emotions really hit harder. This song has caused a lot of people to be reminded about our parents and it's very beautiful.
Watch the concert performance with their parents .. most touching about ken .. living most of his life with grand parents bc his parent living overseas not seen almost his whole life only 2 or 3 times only.
Taha na. It’s okay, it’s not too late to show your Mom your love and appreciation for her. Let her know you’re okay and for her not to worry. I’m sure that’s what she wants to hear and for you to stay in touch as much as possible. 🥰
life is so short..Kaya habang andyan pa si mama Kung pwede yakapin mo sya araw2 Kasi darating Ang Araw na magiging masya at masap na alala nlang sila sa atin.
Awwww. Sorry to hear about your dad. But you know what Parents have that unconditional love to their children. No matter what. Never think that you did not do enough to make your parents proud of you they will always be proud of you coz only seeing you doing what you think is best for your life will make them happy and proud of you! Just always remind yourself to be always grateful and thankful for the life that they have given you! Soon you will be a parent too so you will have the same love for your future children that your Parents showed you!. ♥️♥️♥️
I’m sure there wasn’t a single dry eye among us while we watched your reaction. This song has all made us realise the importance of our MaPas and it does serve as a powerful inspiration to become the best versions of ourselves. Thanks for sharing a bit about yourself with us. 🎉❤😊
I'm sorry to hear about your dad. Mapa of SB19 is an eye opening. Sometimes we took iur parents for granded while growing up. Sometimes what we always see is our self, all about us but we forgot them and what they've done when we were babies and their sacrifices. The lyric says, "when I was young, you prepared my heart for the things that the world brings", which very true. Our success in life is success of our parents too. By just saying hello mom and dad, " how are you" is so meaningful to them. ❤ 😢
Im always with my mom and dad everyday here at our house...and i have not been away from them...but still shed a tear when i listen to this song realizing they sacrified they’re selves for us....
As a Filipino I don't listen to my country's music's very much but this this just gives me the memories when your mom and dad give you the support the sacrifice everything they did for us😔
I'm sure your parents are proud of you regardless of where you're at right now. Besides, you have a lifetime ahead of you. May God bless you on your life's journey.
Am crying too...every time I hear this song and bloggers cry...I cry too...this song of sb19 brought so much tears among those who cherish and love Thier parents...thinking about about all Thier sacrifices, pains just to bring out. the best for Thier kids...hearing this song reminded me most of my mother who me made me of who I am today....ohhhh...we all miss our mom hearing this mapa...so true ,beautifully composed and it moved me a lot....I cried countless times becos of mapa.....mother I miss you...
Hugs... (was crying with you) MaPa is really a gem. It hits hard, really. I almost had the same reaction as you when I first heard it. I also lost my father last year and I work in a different country now -- far from my mother, so... listening to this song really makes me emotional too.
Ma-Pa is a smart way of hiding a song for a parent with first impressions of a Map. You are still blessed you have a Mom here on earth. My Father passed away when I was three. All my life, I have been with my Mom alone. Then, later she was taken to heaven by angels when I was 25 years old. I am already technically a total orphan. There are many dreams that I was not able to fulfill for my Mom. Before and sometimes, I felt the same way you felt not being able to meet their expectations and not being able to give them a best if not a better life before they left earth. But the truth about Ma-Pa(Mama-Papa) is that no matter how we fail and seem to be a failure, they still love us unconditionally. There may be heart-aches sometime, but it will also fade, and their love will always surface above all. While our parent/s is still alive, let us let them know and feel how we love them, because when we see them inside a coffin, it will break and tear you so much, knowing that they can no longer look at you in the eye, and can no longer hear you words no matter how you shout in their ears. Parents are gifts to us from God, as much as children are to parents. Yes, they may not be perfect, same as we are not also perfect. Life is too short. Let us value every moment. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
To be exact, here in the Philippines that song gives us 3 different approach. MAPA is a Filipino word translation for MAP MA for MAMA, PA for PAPA MA for Mata (eyes), PA for Paa (Feet)
Don't worry you are not crying alone I ama full grown man and every time I listen to this song I get tearing eyed :) It just means our mums and dads did a good job with us and it shows we love them :):) By the way they know you love them do not think they are in any way 'disappointed' in you A parents love is unconditional :)
Most every reactor that I've seen, and there have been hundreds, react in tears. I myself became aware of SB19 while taking care of my dad in the last years of his time with us. I watched reactions of this song every day for that year and still a year and a half after he passed on I still watch new reactors discover this song. SB19 ballads will put you on an emotional rollercoaster. All there songs are written about their life experiences, mostly by Pablo, the leader. I really hope you watch more. There are high energy crazy songs, Pop songs, ballads and even R&B. They have a fast growing fan base, A'tin (18) who will guide you through your journey! Enjoy the ride!
I keep watching all the rv of this song too. It has become some sort of a therapy, to find a "community" of people whose hearts were touched by this song, offering some kind of comfort, to ease the pain i feel whenever the thought crosses my mind that i can no longer pay back my parents for their love and care for me. 💘
The most powerful message is oftentimes the most simple. A very simple message brought to us by the song but has very deep impact in our hearts. This RV got me!
I miss my mom, too. Just came back here in Vegas for 3 weeks emergency vacation. She's still in the hospital for ongoing treatment. Hope she'll fully recover from her sickness
This song came out months after my dad passed. Until now, i'd ugly cry everytime i hear this song. I actually even cried with you. 😂 I became an SB19 fan because of this song.
The lyrics is so beautiful I wish you could hear it with Filipino ears. For example the lyrics that says "tahan na.." you say that to a child to sooth him from crying. MAPA also means map, like Mama Papa you are my map. Mata- eyes, Paaa- feet.. Mapa. It has a double meaning, it's incredibly beautiful.
Everytime i've heard this song i cant stop crying. because my dad pass away when i was 11 yrs old. and i remember my dad would always looking for me after going to work kiss me. my dad was the kindest man i know and the sweetest for me . and my mom work hard for us to give our daily needs and support our education. i love you mama. i know im not the showey type of person that would always say i love you but you know i love you always. and to my dad your the best dad for me. 🥺
This is me when i first heard this song. Im inconsolable and just missed my mama and papa so much. My dad passed away over a decade ago and I miss him so much. I havent seen my mom since I am in another country. This song made me an instant fan of SB19 even though this was the only song of them that I heard of at the time. If an artist/singer and in their case a group can sing and touch my soul so profoundly then they are worth my time and I have been an A'tin since then. Thank you for your sincere reaction. ❤
I hope you get to see your mom soon!! I know the struggle - but you two will have the most interesting stories to talk about when you eat together again! Thank you for your warm compliment ❤
enjoy being with them not all of us got to spend time with our parents they're are here to guide us but not forever will be in our side only their memories will be.
I've been hearing this song for the past couple of years and did not bother for once to understand the lyrics (I am a Filipino). Somehow youtube suggested your video and this is the first time I am digesting this lyrics. I lost my mom to illness and it left a deep scar in my heart. And this song hit me hard. I will do anything to have her embrace again.
As a filipino, you made me remember me and my friend's performance in grade 3, people were in tears, we won but, the parents started hugging us they were crying so hard. It was 2 pm and we made our parents and schoolmates cry.
Virtual hug for you ❤❤❤ but it's not too late to repay all their sacrifices, we love our parents, show to them that we love them. Me too i miss my mom since i am an ofw and too long i didn't see them.😢😢😢
It's okay Dany, may of us fans of the Mahalima can't help get our heartstrings pulled whenever they sing or we hear this beautiful song. Truly a fitting tribute to all loving parents.
In honor of our parents - what are some of the best memory you have of them?

I’m sure there wasn’t a single dry eye among us while we watched your reaction. This song has all made us realise the importance of our MaPas and it does serve as a powerful inspiration to become the best versions of ourselves. Thanks for sharing a bit about yourself with us. 🎉❤😊
💯 agree

i always burst to tears when i always hear this song
Nakakainis Naman, one thousand times ko Ng inuulit Yung kanta pero same iiyak ka talaga.
I love your reaction videos, it's so wholesome. Please do more videos.
If youre a Filipino and know this tagalog words they're singing.... It surely hits different. For me, Tagos sa Puso, the way they deliver it ....
I love how your reaction is so genuine ❤❤

As a Filipino I don't listen to my country's music's very much but this this just gives me the memories when your mom and dad give you the support the sacrifice everything they did for us😔
I'm sure your parents are proud of you regardless of where you're at right now. Besides, you have a lifetime ahead of you. May God bless you on your life's journey.

MaPa is really a gem.
Same experience, cried non stop the moment I heard this song. Still makes me cry everytime I hear it 💙💙💙💙💙 hugs
To be exact, here in the Philippines that song gives us 3 different approach.
MAPA is a Filipino word translation for MAP
MA for MAMA, PA for PAPA
MA for Mata (eyes), PA for Paa (Feet)
its ok to be emotional,,it shows how good daughter you are, sure that youre parents were so proud of you☺️
Don't worry you are not crying alone I ama full grown man and every time I listen to this song I get tearing eyed :)
It just means our mums and dads did a good job with us and it shows we love them :):)
By the way they know you love them do not think they are in any way 'disappointed' in you A parents love is unconditional :)
I feel you girl. 😢 I cried too when watching this video. A TRIBUTE to all our parents and US to as parents as well ❤
Most every reactor that I've seen, and there have been hundreds, react in tears.
Hoyy mapa grabe kau iyak tayong lahat
The most powerful message is oftentimes the most simple. A very simple message brought to us by the song but has very deep impact in our hearts. This RV got me!
I miss my mom, too. Just came back here in Vegas for 3 weeks emergency vacation. She's still in the hospital for ongoing treatment. Hope she'll fully recover from her sickness
I hope she recovers soon!!
The smile before the emotional rollercoaster at 1:03
This song came out months after my dad passed. Until now, i'd ugly cry everytime i hear this song. I actually even cried with you. 😂
I became an SB19 fan because of this song.

I'm crying with you 😢😢😢
I dont know how many times ive cried everytime i hear this MAPA SONG😢
A most genuine reaction ever. The song hits right where it’s most vulnerable.
Genuine ❤
now is the time..tell them how much you love them.. mapa.. mom and papa ^^♥♥😊
The way she cry.
I WILL comfort you ☺️❤️.
Please don't be emotional 😭.
New sub here. Giving you virtual hugs. I feel you. I lost my dad in 2022. And I miss my mom. 💕🙏🏼
I know your reaction is real because i teared up too upon hearing the song for the first time. Didnt expect the song to be that good
I'm a Filipino when I play that song I would cry a lot 😭
The lyrics is so beautiful I wish you could hear it with Filipino ears. For example the lyrics that says "tahan na.." you say that to a child to sooth him from crying. MAPA also means map, like Mama Papa you are my map. Mata- eyes, Paaa- feet.. Mapa. It has a double meaning, it's incredibly beautiful.
love this reaction fr she goes like ☺☺🥲🥲☹😔😭
There are a lot of word play in here that fit in rhymes perfectly. If you understand filipino, you'll love this song even more❤❤❤
Everytime i've heard this song i cant stop crying. because my dad pass away when i was 11 yrs old. and i remember my dad would always looking for me after going to work kiss me. my dad was the kindest man i know and the sweetest for me . and my mom work hard for us to give our daily needs and support our education. i love you mama.
i know im not the showey type of person that would always say i love you but you know i love you always. and to my dad your the best dad for me. 🥺
After I listened to this song I went To my Mom And Said I love you❤😢
This is me when i first heard this song.
Omg you made me cry again and again 😢😢😢😂😂😂❤❤❤
I've been hearing this song for the past couple of years and did not bother for once to understand the lyrics (I am a Filipino). Somehow youtube suggested your video and this is the first time I am digesting this lyrics. I lost my mom to illness and it left a deep scar in my heart. And this song hit me hard. I will do anything to have her embrace again.
No sane person would listen to this with dry eyes.
Everybody knows how much their gonna miss their parents when their gone.
i ALWAYS cry to this song
As a filipino, you made me remember me and my friend's performance in grade 3, people were in tears, we won but, the parents started hugging us they were crying so hard. It was 2 pm and we made our parents and schoolmates cry.
It’s ok to cry to this song, I cried too 😢
While I'm watching this reaction videos of yours I'm also crying😢😢😢
She wasn't ready. 🥺
Always cherish the times you have with them. It’s very short of time. Do not take time for granted at any cost. Take it from a 41 year old man here.
Mapa is Mama & Papa Mapa. thats why SB19 is Famous Now All Around The World Because There Song is Nice Good Lyrics!
😢😢😢 brought me tear ..i miss my mom and dad in heaven 😢💔
