9:58 So the "Rats" Ash throws here are supposed to resemble Japanese "Kitsunes" which are basically white Foxes which posses paranormal abilities like flight, shapeshifting and Mind control for example. In the throw Animation for the Skin it shows a Bundle that has a Head of a Kitsune sticking out, and those Bundles are also commonly used by Japanese Nomads to transport their Food.
