It comes from thin air. Treasury creates a Treasury Bond, also from thin air and sends it to the Fed in exchange for Federal Reserve Notes (aka debt/money), and voila! Government can now exchange those notes (money owed to the Fed) for goods and services rendered.
The people who exchanged their goods/services for Federal Reserve Notes can now use those bank notes to buy bread, clothes, housing and transport...

It’s actually very much needed to keep our societal structure in place and keep the United States strong in terms of our economic influence on the world. Unless you want China to become the world reserve currency holder then we need the Federal reserve to stay strong and healthy. And unfortunately with U.S. presidents & congress passing larger&larger spending bills, it’s not helping. So if you have an issue with them having to lend more money to Congress spending, then I’d start with sending your congress man/woman a letter.

@@Ent13111 I’d say the only true financial fluctuations from the fed was when Nixon announced the removal from the gold standard which in a sense he had to because the gold was running out which led to him influencing fed chairman Volcker to do price controls. If anything it’s the political and private sectors that lead up to these financial meltdowns. The fed is simply the supplier and remover of the reserve currency in the economy for the political policies/acts and private sector F-ups. They only handle the Monetary side of things. Their goal is the keep the economy running smoothly and properly, almost like a mechanic that needs to grease the bearings every once in a while. Also the only crises that China seems to be in right now is their human rights issues. Other then that they are a very strong economy. Once they integrate the western capitalist system into their economy, it has changed them dramatically from what they use to be when they were strictly a communist ran economy. Unlike the impulsive thinking that the US has, China seems to always look in the long term view. They are watching our every move and a preying for our future F-Ups. Don’t underestimate China.
