You don’t need to on the mt09. 1. the oil is so thin it pours out and 2. when you remove the oil filter it vents in air. So the video was 100%. Thank you!
Thank you so much, It is good to move the bike to the sides when the old oil is coming out, that helps the oil that remains on the sides of the engine to come out
Great video, couple of tips would be to prefill the filter with oil to avoid the bike running with an empty filter. The other one would be to hand tight the filter not using any tools as this can damage the filter thread.
@@yamayari8351 Hand tighten filter only, tighten just enough and you'll always need a tool to remove it because of the suction it creates etc. If overtighen it can leak etc
Awesome! That's much easier than my old little Honda CB which I had to take the freaking metal cover with springs and gasket off. I'm glad the Yomama brand is easier. I can't wait to get my bike, if I can. Been in a little delay in saving on my bike. It's just life trouble that comes up like my truck needing new tires, and breaks. That right there put a dent in my savings. Couldn't avoid, had to since it's my work horse meow.
For anyone watching who wants to do their own oil, go to Walmart and get a jug of Rotella T6 5w40, and a Fram XG6607. Better than OEM and a fraction of the price.
That oil filter location plus same area where drain bolt is pretty sweet spot lol. I had to deal with a 14 636 spot. I've been looking at one day going to MT-09 sp especially; i sold my 636 a few years ago and miss riding. Pictures dont give this bike justice.
Liking the bike. I have a 9gt. probably already mentioned always put some oil in the filter first, always ONLY hand tighten it. Another tip replace the crush washer every time. Once its crushed its not working. Ive replaced an oil pan from damaging threads. Not fun. Peace out
I had a 1st gen cp3 engine and it loved to be towards the top fill line. It was a common thing. I haven't had my 3rd gen cp3 to see if that's still the case.
What about the fuel injection synchronozation and ECM diagnostics that are listed for the first service on these? Did you do those after? Just curious as im in need of my first service
My owners manual for my 2023 MT-09 says 32 ft lbs. I don't know that seems really tight for soft aluminum. Anyway I used the specified torque setting and a new crush washer. I think it's too tight. I'm hoping it's okay. I'll find out at the next oil change. I think next time I'll torque by hand no torque wrench.
Super glad pops is doing well. Great video ! A magnetic drain bolt should help catching gunk out of the oil. I always remove the filler cap to let the crankcase breathe more. I have the Tracer 9 GT but I race what’s called a Dwarf Car that has the GSXR 1000 motor , oil change every 3 races. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years bud.
Thank you for that. He’s a great dad. Also your right. Taking out the cap would have helped for sure. Next time. Ride safe! An thank you for watching the channel.
When using the site glass to check oil level, will you get an accurate reading with the bike on the side stand? Is that how it is meant to be interpreted? Also, where did you get that nifty oil pan?
I check the sight glass off the stand. Kind of tricky so be careful. And I got this pan from auto zone a long time ago. Thank you for watching the channel. Ride safe.
Kind of off topic. I recently bought a mt09 2022 and i love everything about the bike. Got it through its first service with the chain quite loose and After thighten It, it's still quite loose. What could be the problem? Thanks
@@yamayari8351 Thats intresting, in Estonia(europe), when i bought filter for my 2022 year MT from dealership, the worker there asked why i buy it and dont bring bike for service there so i wont loose 2 year warranty of the bike. I dont get the point why it is like that here.
@@kaurrrr not sure. You can even register your oil change with Yamaha so that way it stays in warranty. You may want to ask another dealership their opinion.
I have the air box off and where the plates would go isn't there on the 22 so since u have the akra exhaust I assumed u did this process but you also haven't flashed your bike so since I don't see a place to put these plates I feel like yamaha turned it into a valve that can be restricted by flash only
Thanks for sharing! I always remove the filler cap beforehand which lets the crankcase breathe better for faster oil drainage.
Ahhhh yaaa lol very true. I’ll do that next time. Thank you 🙏

If you prefill the filter the bike will be filled over capacity. You slow or something?

If you think you ever over filled just check for any foaming in the sight glass. If any foaming definitely lower the level....🤓
Great tip. Thank you 🙏

This I think is the last video that the TNT135 was seen in your garage, have you sold the bike?
Nice video, still missing the suspension tutorial tho ! :D
Very true. Hopefully I can do it soon.

Combien de capacité d'huile vidange mt09 2022
After running it how long do you let it sit before checking??
Hi , you doing very helpful content on your channel, thank you.
How about motul 7100 15w 50 fully synthetic oil for the mt 09 22?
Never used that one. But I’m sure it’s good. But for the MT it’s 10W 40 rated. So keep that in mind.

Tighten it and still lose? Did you loosen the rear axle bolt before you tightened it?
Any advise guys how often u change air filter?
what your dealer will say about warranty of the bike if you change oil by yourself?
Nothing. You can change your own oil. No issues.

Fortunately the new MT09s don’t have an AIS, so block offs aren’t necessary
