Reason why you aren’t hearing as many sound effects in this album is because keyboardist/turntablist Frank Delgado wasn’t in the band yet. He joined in on the Around the fur album and he’s responsible for the synths and ethereal type effects you hear a lot more in white pony and later albums.

I was 16 when I found this band. And I fell I love immediately upon hearing bored. “Root” was one of the first songs I sat down and learned on guitar. Still come back to the beginning riff when I’m noodling around. Such a classic riff. This album and around the fur is a huge part of my high school soundtrack (along with “freak show” by silverchair and “self titled”/“life is peachy”/follow the leader” by korn). The late 90’s were an awesome time for music……and terrible I.e. creed. 🤢🤮 I’d love to see you do silverchair from “frogstomp” to “young modern”. That is a band that evolved to the point you can’t tell they’re the same band on their last album.
your deftones videos are so cool! do you know glassjaw? if not, i think you would really enjoy listening/reacting to their worship and tribute album or the coloring book ep, both amazing projects and somewhat cult classics under the post-hardcore/alternative metal umbrella. their first record is also dope but the lyrics have not aged well at all, lots of teenage frustration and misogyny.
I think a few people have thrown that name around in the comments, not familiar with their music but I will have to give it a listen. Thanks for the recommendation!
Reason why you aren’t hearing as many sound effects in this album is because keyboardist/turntablist Frank Delgado wasn’t in the band yet. He joined in on the Around the fur album and he’s responsible for the synths and ethereal type effects you hear a lot more in white pony and later albums.

yes and their song is "caviar" ft chino moreno
Nice, I'll have to check that one out!
I had this on cassette tape and also scored a tape sampler of Can't Even Breathe. I loved these dudes growing up. Them and Dance Gavin Dance are Sacramento royalty here!
I love Dance Gavin Dance! Still haven't given their entire discography a listen to but what I have heard I really enjoy.
@@mollyesanborn instant gratification is my fav album. The song On the Run from that album is what made me notice them. Now I listen to it all. Thanks again for the cool videos I’m digging the channel a lot
Now this album is bad ass
The concert even better
You should react to Koi No Yokan or Ohms, gems
Save ohms for last
You’re sooo cute.
Awesome video, deftones rocks.
Awesome review. ☮️
This album is so underrated.
Great content, hope this channel blows up!! Ohms next??
Thank you! I've actually heard Ohms already and didn't film a reaction video for it (kinda listened to it before starting to make youtube videos), but I really enjoyed it.
Awesome video!
Get it hunny🎸🔥🔥
I was 16 when I found this band. And I fell I love immediately upon hearing bored. “Root” was one of the first songs I sat down and learned on guitar. Still come back to the beginning riff when I’m noodling around. Such a classic riff. This album and around the fur is a huge part of my high school soundtrack (along with “freak show” by silverchair and “self titled”/“life is peachy”/follow the leader” by korn). The late 90’s were an awesome time for music……and terrible I.e. creed. 🤢🤮
I’d love to see you do silverchair from “frogstomp” to “young modern”. That is a band that evolved to the point you can’t tell they’re the same band on their last album.
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to give Silverchair a listen now!
your deftones videos are so cool! do you know glassjaw? if not, i think you would really enjoy listening/reacting to their worship and tribute album or the coloring book ep, both amazing projects and somewhat cult classics under the post-hardcore/alternative metal umbrella. their first record is also dope but the lyrics have not aged well at all, lots of teenage frustration and misogyny.
I think a few people have thrown that name around in the comments, not familiar with their music but I will have to give it a listen. Thanks for the recommendation!
Glassjaw is so fucking good, they definitely have a strong Deftones influence which is great. Worship and Tribute is a classic hands down.
Glassjaw is another great band for the newly Deftones initiated, they don't have a huge discography either so you could get through them pretty quick.
The video to 7 words,.awesome rare and young,.chino still dreads and his Style..:"..my parents made me strong to look at this glass,."
Best track on this album is Fireal song is so criminally underrated! I did a cover of this track Molly if you wanted to check it out go for it!
Mi album favorite de Deftones ❤

Deftones
The only word needed.

Realness
Adrenaline is the second most important album in Nu Metal history. The First one is Korn from 1994
