      Im Bayern fan, but Id take Reus over Werner in this selection. I know he's technically the only striker (with Kevin Volland), but he's not really. He's a left winger and Id trust Müller, Gnabry & Havertz more in no9 position any day. So Reus CAM or LW (even false 9) would offer a lot more and Werner didnt have a good season for either Chelsea or Germany and we cant take risks in this group...

    • @RSharma7107
      @RSharma7107 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@palashrawat401 Look at the reasoning. Playing Kroos and Kimmich will be the demise of Germany as they are too similar players and Germany need a strong Box-Box which neither are that.

    • @palashrawat401
      @palashrawat401 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@RSharma7107 I think the simple answer is to play Kroos and Goretzka in central midfield and Kimmich in Right back (because Germany does not have a proper RB- and Germany's backline needs a leader like Kimmich)....yes it would be not ideal for Kimmich but when you want to win tournaments you need to manage all your best players in your 11.

    • @RSharma7107
      @RSharma7107 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@palashrawat401 Not always the case. You can’t pick your best 11-players you have to pick the best team. For Germany I don’t think they play a RB anymore, its 3 at the back hence Kimmich not at RB. I do agree if they have 4 in the back, Kimmich at RB but doesn’t seem as though.

    • @palashrawat401
      @palashrawat401 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RSharma7107 well to be really honest, I hope you are right. But I don't see how Germany plays back 3 when they have no CB who is actually reliable except Rudiger marginally. Hummels is a shadow of himself and I can't even imagine Sule in a back 3 (because he is neither good enough on the ball for the centre libero role - or he has any pace to be an RCB). Let's see, it will be interesting.

  • @LJMahomes

    Germany fan here. I am very much not liking our changes at the Euros, I don't think a lot of us are. Our biggest weakness is our defense (especially our full-backs), and once you look at the attacking talent of France and Portugal that we'll be going up against, I can see it being a pretty short tournament. We will almost certainly finish 3rd in that group, and I can maybe seeing us sneaking into the Round of 16. Hopefully. This is how optimistic we are right now.

    German guy here! I honestly cannot see a world, where this team actually performs well in the upcoming euros. The German national team has lacked an actual identity for quite a while now and we were already punished for it in the 2018 world cup. Are we a counterattacking team? The likes of Gnabry or Werner at least indicate that we could be, but then again, Löw has relied on players like Kroos a lot in the past in an attempt to control the midfield and build up attacks more slowly. This approach worked well back in 2014, as Schweinsteiger, in particular, carried that team massively and we could rely on Klose to score a goal whenever we needed one. With both of them gone (and Hansi Flick no longer being Löws assistant coach), we have struggled a lot in actually controlling the pace of the game and finding the right man to fill that central striker position. We tried playing Götze as a false nine, but that never worked out, and Werner might have looked better as a winger rather than as a striker, but even then, Gnabry and Sane seem like the more logical options. So are we going back to a false nine now and hope, that Havertz is going to do better than Götze? Even if he does, will that be enough to actually beat a team like France, who we will have to face in the group stage? Or, to put it differently, who in this team is actually going to stop someone like Mbappe or Coman and who is going to keep up with Kanté's work rate? We do not even have a true right-back in this squad. Sure, a couple of players can play in that position (Klostermann would be the go-to choice, but even he has mostly played as a center-back for Leipzig), but relying on them to stop some of them the best wingers in the world feels daunting. So if we cannot control the game, but also cannot really rely on counterattacking football, because our fullbacks are not good enough, what are we actually going to do to win games? Löw needs to find a solution for this squad and if the last couple of years are anything to go by, he is most definitely not going to. Maybe the individual skill of Kimimch, Müller, Ilkay, and co. can carry us through the group stage, but I do not think this team can go any further than that. Löw leaving after the euros will hopefully finally bring in some fresh air into this team, we desperately need it.
    In any case, thank you for these videos, James! You honestly got me more fired up about the English national team than I ever was about the German :D

    I think Germany would be fine... 5 atb with Rudiger, Hummels, Can (who has played CB with Dortmund and looks comfortable there) as the back 3
    Gosens looks comfortable as a LWB from Atalanta as well and perhaps can play Klostermann as the RWB or Kimmich if needed
    The midfield also looks fine with Kroos as the deep lying midfielder, Gundogan as that box to box and Musiala as a young attacking prospect.. the rotation is pretty good as well with the likes of Goretzka
    The front three of Gnabry Muller Sane looks amazing and interchange between the 3 to link up play and create chances for goals, having that Bayern link
    Overall, the team looks pretty decent and perhals the expectation can be that they could at least reach the quarters comfortably but depends on Joachim Lowe and his set up as well

    Low block back-4 didnt work because we had no DM, but saying that, Id still wouldnt play Kimmich in midfield. We have depth there and and holes at full-backs, so Id play him RB and let Kroos dictate from deep. With Kimmich & Hummels in the back line, it dont think we'd be as as exposed as Spain game, so its not such a worry. My starting XI:
    GK: Neuer
    DEF: Kimmich, Hummels, Rüdiger, Can
    MID: Kroos, Gündogan, Goretzka
    ATT: Gnabry, Müller, Sané
    Unfortunatly, I dont see Löw playing like that (he'll probably have Süle or Ginter at RB, who both offer little on offense & struggle to get back when they do), which is why I doubt we'll get out the group with Löw in charge (Flick takes his place in WC, then we'll be challenging)...

    Might not be a top team to win it but I’d love to see your thoughts on the Denmark squad, we were very unlucky to get knocked out by runner-ups Croatia in the round of 16 last World Cup, and they have quite a bit of young talent to build their squad up over the next few years. Been lovin the content lately, keep up the good work!

      I think your starting XI is really solid! However, I'm not particularly confident in the players that will come off the bench. What's your opinion on the squad depth?!

    • @mrmymeyou

      @@aakash_9619 I would say that our squad depth is ok, good in our defense as that’s our strong point, decent depth in the midfield and our attack is certainly the weak point. Even in our starting 11, poulsen only scores some goals here and there, but some young talent in the form of Olsen and damsgaard I am very excited for in the upcoming tournament. They were electrifying against every opponent in those World Cup qualifiers back in March and I hope they can replicate that form this summer. If they do, then we’ll have a few good forwards to choose from and a good chance at going much farther in this tournament that we did in the last World Cup.

    Kimmich and Kroos are starting 100%. World Class players, able to walk into any team in the world.

      I don’t think we’re gonna see a lot of Kroos. Kimmich can fulfill his role with more ability to cover ground and bigger defensive impact. Goretzka and Kimmich have Great synergy and should be the go to midfield with Müller as a CAM

    I think the squad German squad is very good. It might not be as good as 2010-2016, but it is not as bad as 2000-2004.
    I remember when Michael Ballack was ruled out of the 2010 World Cup with injury, people doubted their chances but they were the most entertaining team in the tournament.

    Forwards: Kai Havertz - RW, Serge Gnabry - RW, Leroy Sané - RW, Jonas Hofmann - RW, Thomas Müller - SS, Timo Werner - CF, Kevin Volland - ST... A for effort and good video though!

    Calling up Muller means Germany definitely needs to go with a 4-2-3-1. This eventually may force Kroos and Gundogan out of the midfield (That is if Low wants something tried and tested).

    As a Germany fan, Kimmich has to start due to his leadership qualities. We wouldn’t have lost 6-0 to Spain with Kimmich in midfield

    I feel like they will use kroos, gundogan and havertz in the games where they’ll control possession but use kimmich, goretzka and muller when they play the bigger teams and will counter with pace of sane gnabry and Werner
