I just successfully performed this exercise on my daughter’s 2015 Evoque by following the instructions you gave. Thanks for putting this instructional video together. It saved us several hundred dollars in dealership labor.
Hey! Just wanted to pass on a huge THANK YOU! You turned around my replacement gear selector module within 2 days, exceptional service. Please add a video at somepoint of replacing this part for a discovery (as there currently isn’t one) - I will be recommending you to everyone!
Thank you for sharing these instructions. I found the panel hard on the Discovery Sport harder to remove but on the plus side there were only two cables to disconnect. Just waiting for the courier.
Hello, good video. What happens if the lifting of the knob is neutralized, remaining always raised , neutralizing the internal mechanical plastic part that blocks the knob? Thank you.
Hi. If the dial is stuck in the raised position then it is a common sign that the internal mechanism of the gear selector is faulty and will need to be re-built. If you would like to get your unit re-built by us then please follow this link: www.ecutesting.com/common-faults/land-rover/range-rover-sport-and-evoque-gear-selector-problem/ and select your Land Rover model for more information.
I got in touch with ECU Testing about the DS Sport. Courier picked it up last Friday and I had the unit returned yesterday. As good as new and the car is back on road! The lifetime warranty gives reassurance. Although I doubt I'll ever need to use it. Thanks a million. PS. if you're able to sort out other issues with these cars do let us know 🙂
Is there a way to kinda bypass the Park and get it into gear? My car is parked at my son’s house 😔 it would be MUCH easier to get the car over to my house (tools there) then get the TCM off and send to you for repair 😊
Hello. Thanks for the video. Do you know if anyone in USA can fix mine? I also wanted to ask if I purchase one online does it need to be programmed? Thank you very much for any info you have to share.
hi i have a 2011 evoque mine does not get stuck as yet but sometimes the the red light flicker when put into gear do i need to send it right now it still works at the moment
This isn't a fault we have seen that indicates a failing gear selector. If the problem persists we would recommend getting the vehicle scanned for any fault codes.
Is there someone in Sydney that specialises in this? I have a 2015 Land Rover discovery stuck in reverse. I’ve tried turning the lever under the bonnet to override but no luck
Hi. This removal procedure is for the Discovery and Discovery Sport, as well as the Evoque and Evoque Sport, and Range Rover Sport. Certain steps may differ depending on the make and model which we have mentioned in the video at 1:02, however the overall basic procedure is the same. Hope this helps!
My 2016 Disco Sport was stuck in Reverse. Very easy to remove selector. Filled in the online form Sunday collected Monday lunch time. Hopefully turn around is as quick as advertised. Updates to follow. ECU testing confirmed delivery on Tuesday and returned back to me repaired Friday lunchtime. First class service and lifetime warranty. Would not hesitate to use again and highly recommend. Thanks ECU testing!!!

Hi, Thank you for a very simple to follow video on removing the gear shift module. I'm in Australia and I find a shop that can repair the module so I need to purchase a used one as a new one is very expensive. My question is, is the module plug and play? Thanks in advance for answering my question. 😊
Hi. Unfortunately if you were to buy a replacement unit it would still have the same manufacturers design flaw present, and could end up failing in the same way. We actually offer a worldwide service so you can get your unit re-built no matter where you are located! Please fill in our online test form here: myaccount.ecutesting.com/ for details of how to send your unit into us. If you have any further questions then please email our technical support team on info@ecutesting.com and they will be happy to assist. Thanks.

Does it need a programming?
Hi. During our re-building procedure we retain all prior coding so you won't need to re-program it to the vehicle, just plug in and play!
