Downtown has flooded. Also very crazy, that one lane bridge use to be 2 way traffic years ago, it was SKETCHY. ODells has the absolute best burgers around.
I grew up in Eureka. I lived in the subdivision directly across the highway from the high school. BTW I moved from the area 23 years ago and the high school is currently DOUBLED its size back then. I didn't even recognize the buildings in this video because so much has been added since I last saw it in person, Google Earth time machine shows how much it's grown. WOW! There is also a ski resort in Eureka called Hidden Valley, just a mile or two past the high school on Hwy 109. There's a whole cottage industry of ski and snowboard shops all over the St Louis area which seems out of place because there's not an actual mountain anywhere, but it's all for this one little ski area right there. :D Oh and the last time I visited "home" those street lights in Allenton are in fact still in-use. :)
The description of this video caught my attention. First of all in capital letters you actually said it was a nice place to live. That doesn't need any explanation for those who watch your channel regularly. Second reason six flags. I remember going there a couple of times and it seems like back when I was kid that was out in the middle of nowhere. I have been to other six flags parks as well. The few memories I have of six flags there in eureka, are fun ones. Nice video.. I look forward to your next video about the ghost town of times Beach. I don't know anything about Allentown.
Thank you, There’s a lot of nice places to live in America. I and other TH-camrs just don’t make too many videos on nice places because nobody cares about the good stuff, they all want to see the bad stuff… and we need views and good performing videos to keep doing what we do.
@@ChrisHarden I understand your point viewers and subscribers. Don't think you took my comment as a knocked on your approach. It's just a little bit different and maybe once in awhile so on these nice ones and it show that you're not a negative person all the way around. At one time that's how I viewed you but then I realize hey this is what a lot of people want. SmartWay tied in with six flags and the main Street hometown movies type Mayberry U.S.A downtown. There wasn't a mountain dew or a flannel shirt coming in this one. The Coca-Cola and whatever that makes it is over. I heard that comment but it did not stand out in a negative way. You said it early on when you were at a three-way intersection I believe you turn left. In any case I'm just giving you some feedback if it's any good to you great cuz it's not, then just toss it out. I like your channel and I like the narration. It shows that you put research into your topics. Thanks for the reply too.
Hey Chris, yet another great video. Who is the artist and song title, in this video. I love it! It has a Nintendo Entertainment System sound to it. Keep up the great work. Peace!
I live in the next town over called Wildwood. My kids went to Eureka High School and overall this area is great. Yes Eureka can flood but it is a low spot and there is plenty of housing that is not as low as the high school. Overall we have a little bit of everything here including hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and some nice dining and shopping options.
Not THAT theater, it was done for, but yes, we need something else. Worked at 6 flags 1 million years ago when i was young, and used to hit that ole dirty theater all the time.

been in that area looking at a new truck, it's got a lotta really nice state parks nearby. Missouri is such a pretty state
Appreciated the drive Chris! Looks like a nice town but I'd be wary of flooding. Thanks for all the stats!
They actually have fixed the flooding issue since last time it flooded and we were off school for like two and a half weeks

I went to Six Flags St Louis last year, very nice amusement park and was better than I expected
Nice
I've been past it a couple times and it looks small and with the drone shots still looks small. What do you think?
Great and educational video , 3 thumbs up , 👍👍👍
Great video. It's disturbing about the ghost towns...😮
I literally have lived in Eureka my entire life and had no clue about the ghost town stuff.😂
Great looking smallish town. The only "Ghost Town" I have been to is Knott's Berry Farm's ghost town. Thanks for posting......
Very good episode.. Thanks and much appreciated.
Thanks!
Eureka Missouri has a really nice small town.
Never knew St. Louis area was that hilly, almost mountainous
It is when heading to the south and west. Eureka is technically in the Ozarks.
Eureka and Wildwood are situated on a very mountainous region. We have lots of hiking, Mountain Biking, and even a Ski Resort.
Beautiful
I enjoy your videos thank you.👍
Appreciate it!

Noice noice very _NOICE..._
Nice town.. what’s the name of the music you’re playing in the background.. u like all of the music you play on your vids.
Geez I went to the old high school up on the hill
It is a nice city. Except it floods about once every 10 years
Yes it is nice if you are on I-44 when you drive through there do 60 if it is posted. Wildwood is beautiful Dexter Lombardo likes 🤠
Still a nice place to live. But they need a little movie theater again.
Not THAT theater, it was done for, but yes, we need something else. Worked at 6 flags 1 million years ago when i was young, and used to hit that ole dirty theater all the time.
Albert Pujols used to live in Eureka
Just likes Eureka California
Eureka is a part of st. Louis County
My family moved to eureka from north St Louis in 1959. Still here.😅
