@@budgetoverland9702 haha that's the reason I haven't uploaded my DIY drawer system video. I may have reeeeeeally miscalculated some stuff in the cutting process
@@SolaOutdoors I'm really hoping to start filming for my channel soonish. Just got my truck this weekend. Gotta fix a few things then hammer down. I wanna be completely built by april 1st. With my procrastination skills i should be completed by 2023 haha
@@budgetoverland9702 there's no better time than now! We filmed several videos that will never see the light of day just so that we worked out a lot of the issues before we ever posted
Nice job. I quickly threw a rack together for my titan. Its been working all this time just fine. I do have plans for a upgrade soon. I had the RTT coming and needed a rack in a hurry. Was cheap to. Good job.
We're planning on doing on once we get a little further into the build! We've been working on some stuff in the background to help bring it to the next level, so stay tuned for that!
How many feet of wire did you need all together? I calculate it’s around 18 feet from the top back of the bed rack to the engine, 5 to the cab, 5 down hand another 5-8 to the engine. That’s just for one light.
I did it mainly for aesthetics, the angle there really helped it blend in with the curves of the truck. I feel like it gave the rack a more finished feel to it as well
I used Rustoleum High Performance Enamel in satin black. So far it has been holding up pretty well to pinstriping on the trail, so I'd call that a win. I may go back and use Raptor Liner if it starts to chip off, but I don't see that happening any time soon
Quite fine
Exactly design i had floating in my head. Hopefully I'll have it done in a few weeks
Don't forget to measure once and cut twice!
@@SolaOutdoors i have that problem with literally every project i do haha.

Let the diy continue
Awesome job on the bed rack and the video!
Thanks my guy! Makes the truck feel more Overland ready

Looks like great work
Hell yeah man, that's awesome! Definitely have a lot more patience than I do haha
Haha some good music playing and a mission to go camping is all you need to power through it
Great job mate!
That's awesome! How about a walk around of the truck ;) :P

Could you use aluminum with the same structure maybe add a third?
Great video. New subscriber. How much you think this weighs? I’m inspired to my Ram Power Wagon. I can’t see spending over $1500 for store bought.
Great looking rack. What are you using for CAD software?
Can you build me one? I’m getting a Ranger this week
question that is in my head. Why did you choose bull nose corner cuts instead of a single angle cut? Aesthetics? Stronger load?

@@SolaOutdoors looks good for sure
I'm inspired by your build. How much steel did you use for it? Trying to do something similar for my father in laws raptor.
Thanks! I think i ended up using 3 6ft sticks of 3x1.5 14 gauge and 2 4ft sticks of 2x1 14 gauge. There was leftover metal, but not a whole bunch
Not sure if I missed it but what paint did you use? Is it holding up?

assuming we have or can find someone with a welder.
Haha shop crocs 🐊
Do you have any blue prints for this bed rack? I have a 2020 Ford Ranger and looking for a DIY rack.
Hey Blake, I just shot you an email!
I would love to have a set of these as well. Great job!
@@SolaOutdoors I would appreciate getting a copy of the plans
Blake I have not received a message from Solaoutdoors - can you send me the plans?
Would you be willing to post your plans?
Sure thing, I could clean up the CAD model and pull some dimensions for posting on our website if you'd be interested in that
@@SolaOutdoors I would like to get the plans if possible. I have a 2019 Ranger
blueprints? I can paypal you
$150 do-it-yourself...IF you have a workshop with all the tools, otherwise good fucking luck
Mathematics is easier in metric
I 100% agree with that. It's a shame that more tools don't come in metric at the box stores
