The scene with Manuel, the Moose, and the Major is simply sublime...
Sheer comedic brilliance, fantastic scripts that have stood the test of time.................
"Where's the real boss? The Generalissimo?"
"In Madrid" 😂😂🤣
@EMINƎM What you talking about?
@EMINƎM yeah, what's that about?
There was a dictator ruling Spain back then. His name was Franco and he was called the Generalissimo or the Boss. He lived in the capital, Madrid
@@mariawinterblue8223 "Generalísimo"
That line got me. The rest, meh. The major part was good though.
No one could have played this roll but Andrew Sachs.
Do you think Eric Idle could pull it off?
@@masterfarr8265 Ooh, interesting. You may have something there.
@@bertspivey3214 I mean they both look similar enough and Idle could do well. maybe if they do a reunion special that’ll be the case XD
@@masterfarr8265 I see what you mean now. You are right.Looking back at some of Idles characters on the Python show I think he would have made a great Manuel. Different and nowhere near as fitting as Andrew Sachs but funny.
@@bertspivey3214 yeah Sachs IS Manuel
Manuel, the Major and the moose's head. I thought I was going to give mself a hernia laughing when that came on TV for the first time, and I still laugh out loud today.
0:27 Omg the generalísimo joke was so good. For those who don't know Franciso Franco (Spain's dictator at the time) was also called Generalísimo, so no wonder Manuel looks at him that way.
"I KNOW that! You tell me that this morning!"
For once he understood 🤣🤣
The Major and the Moose Head is fucking comedy brilliance 🤣
Hilarious! All lines from Fawlty towers are brilliant, as they're written by John Cleese!
"Your horse Nit Wit."
" What is Wit Nit?"
"Its a beautiful day today"
"Is it??"
Yes, yes, I suppose it is.
Is no one else’s favorite: “You always say Mr. Fawlty, but I learn! I get better!” ?
@Anto Hollywood its nitwit, you witnit 🤣
I'm sorry but I must:
e-ven..shuaLLY"
No u.
"what is witnit?" 😂😂
Basil: "Manuel, get me a hammer"
Manuel: "A hammer sandwich?"
😂👌
"My hamster?"
I think Manuel actual said, "Ham sandwich?" but with his accent it sounds like "hamma sandwich?"
Then Basil ghgot a hhammer and hhit hhim hhard on the hhead
Dragonfly or nitwit. dragonfly! Your the nitwit 🤣🤣🤣
Don’t tell anyone abt the horse Ik u tell me that this morning scoffs 🤣🤣
It is really subtle, but this show very strongly hints that Manuel knows English much better than Basil realizes. His intelligence and work ethic is also never questioned either - only his language skills.
True, and his screw-ups are only from the language barrier really (and not even that bad, just annoying to Basil). He seems to be a fantastic worker when he knows what he's doing.
The actor was German 😂
I am Spaniard and this is so funny, really
@@soniaesteban5828 As he was eight years old when family moved to UK it is safe to say he was British actor. Maybe immigrant, but definitely British.
@@vksasdgaming9472 oh, thank you ❤️ but I meant he wasn't Spaniard so it's fun see him pretending being Spaniard (sorry for my English, I hope you understand me)
Basil and Manuel chemistry is so good 🔥
This show is so quotable.
"What is witnit?"
"Eventually"
"OOOOHHH, I could spend the rest of my LIFE having this conversation!:
Mum always loses it at that part!
I speak English, I learn it from a book ,
I like this quote
The generalissimo? In Madrid 🤣🤣
Brilliantly written and preformed by everyone. ❤
I remember watching this on tv during my highschool years, was so eagerly waiting for the show, it was on once a week!
"Please try to understand before ONE of us dies"...
"What is wit nit"......priceless
Where's the Generalisimo!?...In Madrid!!!! 😂
“Even--tually”
hOOOOW ARRRe YoUUUUUU siRRRRR
I CAn sPeEEEEEK eEEEIInGlEeeeeSsssSHHHh
Andrew Sachs brilliant character actor
Andrew Sachs: Real hard work and acting talent, old school. Not like the untalented Johnathon Woss or Russell Brand muppets who pulled a sick prank on him to try to stay in the limelight of the beige. Response to article only.
Wait what? Genuinely curious what happened?
If this was an american tv sitcom. Manuel (Sachs) would have received the emmy , for each episode
Such a good show
Have a wonderful day
🤩😍🤗😘❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love this one XX Trev Dec singer songwriter ❤
Would love to see a conversation between Manuel and Baldrick from Black Adder......
same
Always using " I know nothing " and " it's not a rat it's a haaamster "
"Is Siberian HHHamster!"
Haha so great
I once stayed in a hotel where the waiter was a dead ringer for Manuel ,I almost wanted him to bring me the wrong dish or fall over .
The Builders A Touch of class
0:30 In Madrid
Borat has got a lot in common with this character.
I don't understand how the out of context bit about the horse race was one of his FUNNIEST moments, but yknow, its not like watching that scene killed the momentum of the entire video clip....
But i learn i learn i get better!
God this is funny
😂😂🤣😭😘💝
Ees no rat! Ees Siberian ‘ampster!
eventually
Sounds more Italian than an actual Spaniard...
Yeah, that had me confused.
Yeah, they didn't really nail the accent. It's rare to find a good imitation of what an spanish person sounds like when speaking english.
In the Spanish version of the show, didn't they actually say that Manuel was from Italy?
My thoughts exactly. Looks more like a parody of an Italian.
Ah, back when people weren't offended by everything!
Merch
Fawlty Towers had some good moments and I always liked John Cleese, however I could not stand the woman who played his missus nor this joker!
Stay positive with Sherpa,🤪🙏💯😒👏🙄😀😇😒💖☺️🤭🙏😝🤨
Stil watching 2020 the day of trump eminent departure.
Que
This is not a Spanish accent...it's more of a mix between italian, french and romanian. By the way, 0 funny.
- "The generalísimo"
- In Madrid!
Does the British understood that reference? Hahahah
