I was so pissed when the level 80 cap happened just after I farmed perfect parts in all elements for my Maya build. One of the saddest moments in my life
If you had them at op8 before the update they still would’ve been level 80

this is so fuckin sweet dude this game means SO much to me after playing it for 11 years straight and getting to deep dive into the nostalgic early days where the game was still actively dropping DLC and the community was booming is just such a nice feeling. there were weapons in vanilla like the Harold and Norfleet that blew 99.9% of guns out of the water and were very obviously top dog, and then the Sand Hawk and Pimpernel both came out in the same DLC and made characters like Maya and Zero WAY more than viable in their endgame builds, as well as being staple guns on almost any build of any character at any level. suddenly, the Harold became everyones estranged ex for a few months while everyone was having fun shredding through everything in the game with just a Sand Hawk and a Bee shield and nothing else. very very few weapons in this franchise are THAT good, and it was so so awesome experiencing these things as they came out. i absolutely adore the history this game has

Ironically he said "before the pitchforks come out" and completely forgot about the pitchfork sniper which nobody is using and is literally a sandhawk in sniper rifle form.
Ok, I had this is my notes. Simply put, the pitchfork is very similar but the damage is just not there.
@@ItzTermx the pitchfork does decent damage, mainly on bosses but due to the small ammo pool it suffers quite a bit also it has less projectiles which makes it do less damage with a beeshield by a significant amount
@Halimat2.0 the difference between listed and unlisted projectiles in the Bee's damage formula.

@@TheReZisTLust fixed shot patterns help gaige but i would not recommend using a pitchfork as primary weapon on gaige you rather should use a jacobs shotguns like the Twister or a Quad as for sniping use the Hot Mama
As someone who's played borderlands casual I love learning why my friends want me to get these weapons despite no context
Imagine a BL4 where New Game+ can have things like "loot pool filters". An allegiance run could only drop gear from the chosen manufacturers and, importantly, mobs can also be restricted to those allegiances (or maybe a different one from the player).
Imagine being able to reset individual dlcs instead of a whole playthrough, or reset an area without save quitting.
Imagine a game built to be replayed dozens of times having dialogue skips, cutscenes skips, limited reliance on NPC following. Imagine smart objectives that can compensate for deviated paths and strategies.
Can you imagine it? Well, keep dreaming.
The Sandhawk in BL3 actually got me my foothold on Mayhem 10 while i was farming the Cartel event to get some of the better weapons like the OPQ (which funny enough is the best weapon to farm Katagawa Jr with. Literally kills him in a second).
Is it just me or would a bl2 remake in the bl3 style be awesome

Legendary cat com gave +100% SMG damage at MINIMUM, that's all 8 Sandhawk projectiles doing double damage without Bee boost. Combine that with the Cat com's boosting Maya's SMG skills and you have a simply unbeatable combo, like how the Pimpernel is unquestionably the best gun on Zer0, the Sandhawk just synergised with Maya perfectly. That's why basically all Sirens in BL2 online use it. And also OP10 made made every character but Salvador much more limited in ideal gear and builds, so even more Maya players default to beehawk + cat com

You did the bee shield, however. I’d love to see a Sham shield, since it’s one of a loved shields due to the rare chance of a 94%.

Didn’t use the sand hawk as much on my gaige. Used the classic Fibber pistol with the Norfleet lol
sandhawk with the grognozzle, inventive idea using both weapons....
We need in BL4 a Dual Wielder that's not as broken as Sal, but just as fun

I'll stand by the opinion that this gun is the reason gearbox had to be careful with unlisted projectiles for the rest of bl2

I actually used it a lot with gaige, i had a discord looping build and blood soaked shields, paired with the bee i could keep it up all the time😅
Zer0 + Kunai + Bee Shield + Sand Hawk is the strongest combo you can't change my mind :D
Ah yes, I forgot maya is the best with the sandhawk. I love when she swaps after shooting the mag then gunzerks with the lady fist grog combo for 2400% crit and insta healing to drop most raidbosses instantly. I agree shes definitely the best with the sandhawk and we both are too stubborn to suggest otherwise.
The bl3 sandhawk on mindsweaper moze is completely broken and with her ammo regen theres no problems using it.

I am confused with the Torrent inclusion. BL2 had Emperor. If it was Torrent, well it wouldn't be that far from top tier Bee delivery. It's burst fire is So fast, that with enough fire rate the damage numbers count as single hit.
Talking about the other BL2 smgs. The best ones can't compete. Plasma casters and Tattler. Could be close, but once we use Bee...once again, Sandhawk beats them.

@@ItzTermx True that mentioning Emperor wouldn't change anything. But I still find it odd, that Smgs have only one king. In compare to other gun types there is allways few on the top.
Best example, Pimpernel, Lyuda, Amigo Sincero. I could say all of those are OP. There isn't clear winner.
I remember there was a sniper almost no one could get because of its low percentage drop I think it was tiny Tina’s snipe which was a jakobs explosive sniper I would farm hours and never see this gun lol

Think I’ve made peace with the SX 30fps but what an amazing game. While I adore Infinite’s campaign , Xbox needed an earthquake of a banger . BGS has delivered both great story and unique game design on a grand scale

the sand hawk in bl3 actually isn’t a work drop it’s only drop source is katagawa on mayhem 6 or above or one of the trials i’m fairly sure
Ah, the best crutch of the franchise. Even though some people aren’t ready to admit it.
biggest crutch is the harold
naw def the Harold lol you get it at level 7, its an easy ass farm, and it shreds enemies 15 levels above it. you gotta wait until level 15 bare minimum to get the Sand Hawk, but you also gotta go through like 2 and a half hours of missions to get to it, and you cant farm it without doing read only, which is incredibly tedious. the Harold is def the biggest and best crutch of the franchise
No you're all wrong, it's by FAR the Grog. I've rarely seen someone play without the Grog at UVHM. It's a huge crutch healing weapon when a lot of times a smarter build will let you play without one

Haha i never got a sandhawk in bl2 because anything less then perfect was unacceptable to me and i didn't know how to get a good one until i had thrown mine away and never wanted to farm it

Zer0 and Maya do still want Flying, as Vel0city and Accelerate gimp the effectiveness of split projectile weapons, namely the Pimpernel and Lyuda.
Dahl weapons are extremely effective. They just also happen to be more reliant on having good parts on average, and their high precision makes them less forgiving.
There is an analog for the BL3 Sandhawk in the game, the Pitchfork.
Axton is the second best VH to use the Sandhawk on, as Zer0 uses other comparable weapons better.
How come my Sandhawk does way less damage than this Sandhawk? Does it depend on what level you were when you got it during gameplay?
everything was level 80 here, maybe my sandhawk was OP1 or OP2

Flying sand hawk with matching parts is what you want, but it takes years to farm it unless you're cheating

Maya was practically made for the smg's. In my opinion since Maya was always my main. The Sandhawk is better than the Pimpernel. Just Saying.
Pimpernel does do crazy damage especially on multiple targets if you build for it, you can even "b0re" Saturn with it as maya

@@ItzTermx kind of, its a high fire rate Dahl smg but it was modded in bl2 and replaced the emperor as guns can't be added to the game (i think)

How are you bringing up this weapon and none of the stuff from the Commander Lilith DLC? That sniper rifle alone is just tarded. It makes everything else obsolete by miles. Not to mention the Shocket Launcher (Tourgue shock AR) forgot its actually name that's what the community called it b4 Gaybox took down the Forums.
its called peak opener and is a slightly modified kerblaster with higher firerate and more child grenades
@Halimat2.0 no it it more than that. It is by far and away the Best AR in the game hands down. Not only that, it's the best AR for any vault hunter that can is good with ARs because it does both of the kinds of none resisted damage, meaning all you have to do is slag the field and lay waste. It is the best AR with Gaige, Kreig, and Axton. The only thing that beats it on the other 3 VHs is a perfect parts Bekah with Crit builds and good luck getting that without mods. I've played for tens of thousands if hours and never even seen a 2nd generation Pearlescent. It has a huge magazine, way more damage, and way higher fire rate compared to the Kerblaster.
Do you even play or are you trolling? I know what I'm talking about. The dude who made this video is dead wrong. The Commander Lilith DLC has all of the META gear. Amigo Sincero, Peak Opener, Unicornsplosion, Hector's Paradise and the Electric Chair made everything else obsolete. Like I said in my first comment, the Amigo Sincero alone makes it redundant to use any other sniper rifle, that thing slaps and actually makes an OP10 SN1P3R Z3R0 viable on the peak. The only exception being the Pimpernel. That being said I still find use for the Sandhawk and I am currently still dashboard farming my perfect set. I have the Shock, NonElemental, and Slag(useless), but still need the other 2. I agree it is a PITA to refarm the parts perfect quest items. And that goddamned Rustlers Twister.
@@xavis_dad i actually did play quite alot that's why i know that its a modified kerblaster its one of the few guns in the commander lilith dlc that actually got some upgrade over the normal ones, and i doubt you played for 10k hours and never gotten a gen2 pearl cuz if you farm the legendary dlc classmods for all characters you get some gen 2 pearls, also the leadstorm can do more overall damage and the peak opener shreds through your ammo like crazy it also fires faster if you zoom
@@xavis_dad i have a matching grip rustler's twister that i got legit lol also the unicornsplosion is the exact same as the swordsplosion the hot mama is a sniper for gaige and the amigo sincero is probably the no1 jacobs sniper as for the other guns from the dlc like Hektors paradise its just a worse hornet (locked to bladed if i ain't mistaken) the nirvana is a hellfire with rainbow skin the infection cleaner is a fire avenger pretty much the electric chair does have some upsides and is overall a better stormfront for single target damage the fastball is alot easier to hit + it comes in all the offensive elements and the worldburn is a nukem with less downsides oh right almost forgot the toothpick its a great Dahl weapon i suppose AR that feels like a dpuh kinda due to the double pitchfork effect
edit i forgot the buffed Hammer Buster which is actually usable
@Halimat2.0 ah yes the Thumpson AR is also very nice. Also goes well with crit builds. The magazine and damage are incredible. As for the Hectors Paradise it is just a better version of the Thunderball Fist IMO. Maybe not in terms of stats for every charater/loadout/build but in that it can be obtained reliably at the level you need it at. This is important for ascension of OP levels.

Not really. It was just the Bee shield that elevated it to extreme heights.
Without the Bee, the sandhawk is good but not amazing.

Maybe. I never found the sandhawk to be that much better than most other SMGs. But I haven’t played the game in a fair bit so I might just be misremembering.
@@beefjiggler5665 It's more about the synergy with The Bee, without it on op10 when the Bee is down, Pyro Pete seems to regen health as fast as you can bring it down on Maya, to the point it feels like 10,000 SMG ammo wouldn't be enough unless you cheese him by weapon swapping to a Lady Fist / Grog Nozzle between bursts...
