There's this redheaded girl I knew a while ago who thinks that her brothers are making weird inventions. I saw a few but I just chalked it up to the parents doing construction on their house.
Weirdest part is how she thinks that their pet platypus (yes, they have a pet platypus, no I don't know why) is a secret agent.
I don't know if she's crazy or on drugs or something, but their dad tells me that she probably got her paranoia from him. She's nice regardless.

I've dealt with mentally ill neighbors myself. I lived next to a woman who was severely mentally ill and was not taking her meds. Of course the cops and state knew this but refuse to do anything stating she is not a danger to anyone. She would talk to people in the hallway though there was never anyone actually there. She would beat on the walls yelling at people to be quiet when no one was making noise. One day she randomly decided to attack my mom unprovoked and beat the hell out of her. I walked into the situation mid attack and had I not been there she probably would have killed my mom. The state only decided to put her into a facility after we threatened litigation. They don't care about you or your safety.

I mean mentally ill people have rights and freedoms just like anyone else. Until the point where she actually attacked your mom, she wasn't doing anything wrong. Even if you thought it was annoying or disturbing, they are still human beings and being weird is not a crime nor a reason to keep someone in a hospital against their will. You have to realize that psych wards in the US are not nice places. They are essentially jail. They are essentially a punishment for having an illness. I also find it a problem that Scare Thearter rightly calls out that this woman needs help but suggests 0 accountability to harassing police. The reason people would believe her story is that we know for a fact there's plenty of police that would do shit like this and we know this from decades of police being caught selling drugs, them being used as assaulters against protesters in peaceful protests, killing innocent and mainly black people for no reason other they're black and not doing anything these cops ask. Everyone always want to downtalk people who would believe the police are up to something nefarious while completely ignoring the decades upon decades of proof that, as an institution and and as a system that they have been and still are a bunch of violent criminals.

They would email her, comment under her videos, or even call her on Skype pretending to be characters in her imaginary world (Terrence Jenkins, Brent Spiner, Hugh Jackman, Jesus Christ, etc).
Some of them justified it by saying they were keeping an eye on her by getting close to her like that, but this woman literally went for a walk through a hurricane once because she believed her starship in orbit was beaming down an energy shield to protect her from bad weather. They also egged her on, mocked her, and pushed her to keep posting online for their entertainment at the same time they told her to take her medication.

The fact people harassed the actual victims, going so far as to damage their property, speaks volumes for how easily people can be fooled and manipulated. It is truly scary how people will be manipulated in the age of AI. That aside as someone with Bipolar disorder 1 myself I feel it is a little oversimplified to automatically conclude Norma is herself a victim. One can absolutely contribute to the likelihood of having a mental health episode through their own life choices, something that took a few stays in a mental health clinic for me to finally learn. @analogdriven 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +31

@@DonutsForever24 That's a very delusional sounding rationalization of violating another person's privacy. First, the word important wasn't used. The OP said they knew something was up, because of her suspicious use of cameras to spy on her neighbors. Second, using the Chris Watts case is apples to oranges. Chris Watts said he'd been having items stolen from his property which would be why the neighbor was recording footage aimed at his property and regardless of that footage that case was going to be solved. It wasn't just a wild whodunnit.
Again, like the OP said it's not her business so why is she recording it? Privacy laws only allow for recording of PUBLIC places and of places easily seen and within line of sight to a public space. Putting a camera on a pole in order to circumvent privacy curtains that the neighbors shouldn't have had to put up in the first place, is a clear violation of a persons 4th amendment right to privacy.

Reality is rarely straightforward, there is always a big picture. In cases like these, when there are severe mental health issues at play, its important to remember the 'perpetrator' is unwell. It doesn't mean ignoring reality or consequences, but it's better to withhold judgement when we don't know enough to be in that position.

3:30 living in a country with a lot of religious people I'm just kinda used to them periodically having their weirdo holidays that some people apparently actually care about. Like, it'll be a random Sunday and suddenly all the shops are closed bc it's the moving holiday of Our Lady Most Blessed Virgin Thrice Admirable. They already have morning mass and midnight mass, what I'm getting at is, I personally wouldn't jump to "must be human trafficking"

Its like A big slumber party where a church group (usually the teenage class) goes to church for a slumber party with pizza and snacks and play games and dance and just have fun with their friends in their youth group. Usually as teens do they try to pull an allnighter. I went to plenty of em as a kid

I think this is definitely a situation where the internet has made things much worse. You've got Munoz's fans encouraging her and I wouldn't be surprised if trolls were behind some of the calls that brought the police to her place (therefore also encouraging her). Plus, there's this entire conspiracy shibboleth that provides a ready-made explanation for every stray worry ("Neighbor acting weird? Well, clearly they're human traffickers / gangstalkers / Satanists / lizard people") that's become even more accessible with the internet.
I don't think the internet made Munoz do this. But the internet certainly made her entire situation worse.

I really appreciate that you shed an emphasis on mental illness. It's an epidemic in the United States, not only due to existential conflicts, but due to external conflicts as well. Our economy, the lack or having a good job or good income, unresolved trauma from youth, there's a lot more than someone just being "crazy." There's almost always a cause and effect. There's some instances where people do things just because, but it's normally always because there's been something bothering them for a long time, but they've never gotten help or addressed the problems. It's really sad, and the way you made this video was honestly heartwarming in a way. The woman CLEARLY needs some mental help, and hopefully she can get it in the healthiest way possible. Keep up the great work, ScareTheater!

This is an important aspect of when people give 'evidence' on the internet while trying to gather people to their side. While videos, photos, texts, and so on might be genuine, they're only showing part of the picture, with a narrative constructed either from what the person who took the evidence BELIEVES is happening, or intentionally falsified to paint themselves in a better light. So often it can still be a game of he-said/she-said if a certain bar isn't met, because the evidence can be spun multiple ways.
