What y’all don’t understand is that 2Pac was only 25 and Biggie was only 24 when they passed. Biggie had no sympathy for 2Pac on this song cause Pac said what he said on HitEmUp. People get killed for sleeping with another man’s wife.
It’s an unfortunate situation that could’ve gotten resolved but those 2 cats were young bucks living in a heated East Coast-West Coast war.

Big tried to take the high road. Pac was on a terrible path. He was doing too much. Eventually when you keep dissing someone in public, always defaming them every chance you get and talk about their family then you get that Long kiss goodbye song. Biggie didn't have anything to do with pac being robbed and shot in NYC so he did all that for nothing! I liked pac, but pac ran around with way too many different crowds in NYC and was super thuggin. Long Kiss? That's what big wrote BEFORE pac died, but he still dumbed the original version down after he died and payed his respects to pac after he died. Our culture is screwed though! We all get put against eachother when we should be standing together. Pac and Big could've squashed the beef and made hip hop history. Hip Hop would probably be a safer place today had they have done so👋🏾

Was that Marine-Blue verse 2:55 - 3:00 about the South Side Crips shooting 2Pac & Suge??? He has a lot of verses about blue on this track. Also, The Nortoriuos B.I.G is the "cousin" (very close childhood friend) to C Gutta, a New York Crip.
This track is pretty much a New York Crip track bangin on wax towards 2Pac who was heavily M.O.B Piru/Blood affiliated in California. The Notorious B.I.G missed the assistance from Eazy E (Kelly Park Compton Crip affiliated), who also had issues with Suge Knight and his Blood ran Death Row Records, by two or three years.

I feel like folks attribute ANY verse as subliminal if the Artist doesn't straight up say the others name in the track. Big doesn't have to say "fuck you Tupac" for us to know who this verse is directed at. There are multiple references that might as well be saying Pac's name without saying it. I don't think this falls under subliminal, its for sure towing the line but to folks who were around and consuming Hip Hop in this era its pretty unanimous that this is directed at Pac. It also highlights Biggie's skill and shows that lyrically he was better than Pac. Now that comes from a 42 yr old man with a poster of Pac still in his office. What Pac did better than EVERYONE else was relate his EMOTIONS to the listener. It didn't matter if you were a white kid from Iowa, a child from Beijing, China, or a young black male from Compton, you could relate to Pac's lyrics because of how raw and vivid his portrayals were. Regardless, we for sure lost two of the best that will EVER do it in less than a year. Fucking tragic, and I wish it never happened. RIP to both of these amazing artists.
