Blackstone is a private equity who is more interested in profit taking than customer service hence the poor state of this beautifully located hotel . It is a shame . Thank you for sharing
I specifically avoided this hotel after reading your review. Then end up here with an airline comp night due to irregularity. The hotel definitely gives a Wyndham vibe. Instant coffee, generic brand name toiletries, and an oddly shaped table in the room. Bottom three Hilton indeed.
You've probably come to a similar conclusion, but the position of those light switches (and the fact that the headboard is wider than the bed) does seem to suggest it was a twin that's been hastily remodelled into a double. Very lazy way of doing things, but clearly not the biggest problem with that place!
Seems very standard Hilton to me, tbh l have seen worse/as bad Hilton Garden Inn Hanoi comes to mind with the same colour scheme although the price point reflects the property better for the one in Hanoi. I always get a good laugh at your dry humour. Thanks for another honest review👍
Maybe I've just been lucky with Hiltons in the past. Or maybe I just haven't stayed in as many of them as my mind wants to think I have 😂 Thanks as always for watching Vanessa 🙏
Jeez I was thinking of staying here. It would literally be free (essentially 40k points per night)… but I now feel maybe looking into another hotel and saving the points may be a better move
I appreciate your honest review and look forward to them, thanks for saving me from this dated train wreck, I gather you are from New York or NJ because of the way you say Hilton , just a guess, lol
@@tfft it's how New Yorkers pronounce their N's and the end of a word, but look forward to your honest review and you are correct south America is not known for the great hotels of Thailand, etc
I stayed at this hotel in 2005 in one of its previous incarnations. If you think it was mediocre in 2022 you should have experienced it in 2005. Just dreadful. I defy anyone to name a city of comparable standing as Rio that has such an appalling choice of accommodations.
I agree that Rio has an underwhelming hotel market but, I will say the Emiliano Rio is one of my all time favorite hotels. Video on the channel as well. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Looks awful. Thanks for the review. I would also think twice about swimming at that end of the beach, with the bay outlet and all the raw sewerage flowing into it on the other side of the headland. I know people do it, but ... I stayed at the Fasano in Rio, I highly recommend it for your next visit.
Oh, personally I wouldn’t swim anywhere in Rio. Perhaps the sewage situation near Ipa/Leblon is better but I still don’t like being surrounded by floating plastic trash in the water. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I'm 29y, born and raise in Rio, and I always thought this hotel was very ugly and an horrible eyesore, but at the same time was always curious about the interior. Well, too bad it's horrible not only outside, but inside too 😮💨😮💨

If only they’d wake up and see they could command triple the rate with a remodel. Wishful thinking. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Great review. I'll avoid this hotel. I gather that there's a good bus service between airport and the beaches. Have you used it?
I’ve never used any busses in Rio, just Uber and the Metro- which has some of the best air conditioning in Brazil 😁
OMG I was thinking in staying there with my husband in our next trip. So is there any other 5 star hotel in Copacabana?
There are a few- I was in love with the Emiliano Rio. Also on my channel. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

I reckon a lot of their guests end up there unexpectedly 😂 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
What a waste the owners didn't take advantage of the location. This Hilton really looks like a 3-star hotel
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

Those points aren’t free, you earned them somehow. Don’t underestimated their value and waste them on a place like this! Lol
@@tfft very true, thank you again. I’m definitely looking up other options now.
Great ill be there in 2 weeks 😂 smh welp.... im looking forward to the excursions.
Enjoy your trip 🗺️
The beach area hotels in Rio de Janeiro remind me of Waikiki in Honolulu Hawaii. Old and out dated with old hotel smells.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Lindas vistas, fea calle de copacabana; muy peligrosa. Hay que hospedarse en ipanema o leblon.
Gracias por ver 🙏🏻
Ay dios. d veras? Mi tía y prima viajaron y escogieron el Hilton.
I appreciate your honest review and look forward to them, thanks for saving me from this dated train wreck, I gather you are from New York or NJ because of the way you say Hilton , just a guess, lol
Both are correct to be technical, but I never suspected “Hilton” would be what gave it away 😂
