Clay, in yesterday’s Simply Strings rehearsal of the complete Suzuki book one, my teacher passed out (some had the book) the first nine pages of Rick Mooney’s “Position Pieces for Cello” She also passed out one page, page 1 of “1st finger in Third Position “of Third Position for the Cello book one by C Harvey. I liked your explanation. I guess the shifting journey begins! Suzuki starts with shifting in # 17 Bach’s Minuet No. 2 measure 23!

Awesome Stuff! 😃 Remember thats not a shift in measure 23 thats an extension and its important to do them correctly 😁. Suzuki starts shifting in book 2 near the beginning. A proper extension means you are reaching everything without shifting.
