    Hi again, just to say that I finished my kimono robe , made from a beautiful light material bought in India many years ago, so the french seams were definitley needed.I made it for my friend , I'm sure she'll love it. Thank you so much for this perfect tutorial. Best wishes. I sent pictures to your Instagram .

    Thank you for this amazing video, I was looking for a good kimono pattern (+ instructions) for a long time and this is great! I just have one question, everytime I try to sew it, the area around the armpits is always bulky and I don't know what I am doing wrong, please, do you have any suggestion?

    • @annwestcott3752
      @annwestcott3752 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t done this yet, but my opinion is that this is because there was a French seam joining the sleeve to the body and another French seam in top of this for the side seam. This gives you a little chunk of fabric right under the armpit and it has no stretch. I’m thinking when I do it I might do a flat felled seam to join the sleeve to the body.or something similar. I admit I haven’t actually done one of those in 40+ years, so I cannot remember exactly what I am on about. But that should produce a flatter seam and then when you do a French seam for the side seam it won’t be such a problem. Maybe before you start next time, just get some scraps and try my suggestion, and if it works do it for a while kimono. Good luck. :)

    • @MADAMEPOLY
