That is the reason we need to manufacture our own products here. Put everyone back to work and we are not dependent on foreign goods. Our government should give interest free loans to any companies starting a light bulb business or toaster,or washing machine or anything related to items we buy every day.
Companies would take the loans and then still produce the goods overseas.
we cant even depend on american workers to distribute those foreign goods much less produce the goods without going on strike every few years. the blue collar american worker has made it impossible to achieve the "american dream" in modern times. unfortunately the american worker doesnt have the attitude of being grateful to have a job or loyalty to your employer type of thing anymore. when looking a job in modern times, nobody says " i think i will take less pay to hire on to this start-up while they grow". we chase the competitive wages and premium benefits packages, not the prospect of success but what is guaranteed up front. a truly impossible thing anymore unfortunately and we did it to ourselves.

They are negotiating a 6 year contract. What they are asking for comes out to about a 10% raise each year. It's not a onetime pay increase. With current inflation that's about breakeven not really getting ahead.

good, we can get to the point were most the US is unemployed and we deal with a UBI.
So they want 50% plus to block any automation that makes it cheaper. Are they trying to help the US or themselves. They aren't worth it, automate that crap.
