    Never thought I would own a little dog, and when my dog-dsughter passed away, I was desperate for a new dog. When I went to pick her up I forgot what dog I had bought. Now I own a Pomchi and I am so glad I did. She is wonderfully sweet, but willful.

    My Pomchi is very smart and loves to be with me all the time. He is full of love and wants to be rubbed and petted whenever he is with me and is full of kisses. I walk him once a day around a good sized block and because we have very little vehicle traffic he goes off leash - he listens very well and if I tell him to stay he will sit and wait. I always pick him up when other dogs are coming and we often sit outside my house with him off leash he is very good. I wouldn’t think twice about getting another one he is a black Pomchi

    I adopted a dog from the Humane Society. I did one of those home DNA tests and they said he is 50% Chihuahua, 12% Pomeranian, 12% poodle, and 25% dog :-) I can see the Pomeranian and a Chihuahua in them pretty well but nothing else stands out. He is a fawn color with a short coat. He is very smart but very stubborn and was not socialized well in his previous home. He takes a while to warm up to strangers but once he knows them and likes them he is their best buddy.

    My pomchi is all black, he was the runt of the 5 dog littler. He is the only one who looks like his Dad the Pomeranian. He is a master of getting exactly what he wants and making you feel guilty if you do not give in. He also is master of letting you know how much he loves you. He is a great watchdog for sure. They are both gentle and shopping takes ages as people fuss them. Mavis my pomchi gets right under the bed covers even in summer.I don't know how she breathes lol. I enjoyed this video, but I wish it had mentioned the fact that Pomchis commonly develop luxating patella due to the combination of the pomeranian and chihuahua breeds. This is important to tell people so they know that can be an added cost to adopting a pomchi.

    One thing I really recommend about pomchis is brushing their teeth for them with the little doggy brush you put on your finger or a toothbrush style one and dog specific toothpaste. They can't use any human toothpaste. Their little teeth especially in the front are so close together that they will rot and start to fall out before you know it unless you bring them in for expensive cleaning or clean them yourself with the brush kit you buy

    My pomchi is so smart she learned the gunshot trick in 20 min, she’s insanely smart and loves to make me happy I don’t even need treats she does it just so I will clap and love on her. The only con is that her separation anxiety is really bad, I can’t take a shower without her standing and watching me. And she will poop in the house if I leave her for more then a few hours. She’s never been left alone without anyone for the year that I’ve had her because of her stress and anxiety. Love her lots and I’m glad I picked this breed!

    • @essentialpassion
      @essentialpassion 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey our pomchi is also very smart and a quick learner, and also has separation anxiety. She has to be always with someone or she will start crying, making high chirping sounds. She also barks loudly every time someone knocks the door, rings the bell, goes across the condo hallway, or enters home.
      One issue she has is that she tends to eat her own poop, I know it is very gross and makes me puke at the sight of it. It seems like a hard-wired thing and hard to avoid no matter how many times we say NO NO NO NO. she stops doing it and one day when we are not looking she does it again :( so we have to watch if she has pooped so she doesn't go back for a quick snack. lol I call it natural recycling.

    I like where she says Pomchi's can be fussy eaters. Mine will eat anything that is possibly edible or that won't eat him first lol. My dog rarely turns down food. He will even eat veggies. He is highly obedient, loves to do tricks, loves and grooms the other dogs, loves to be the life of the party (we call him "a party waiting to happen" lol) , eager to please, and a love bug. The only bad quality is that damn shrill bark lol. But I can tell you this; I think I will always have a Pomchi in my house. I love theses little dogs; mine is such a blessing.
