  • Want to play blues?
How to start playing guitar or blues guitar for an absolute beginner.
Even if you’ve never picked up a guitar, with time you should be able to use this video as a stepping stone to more complex ideas.
We assume no prior knowledge and show you how to tune the guitar in a way so you may use one finger to make the chords.
A great way of building basic knowledge before committing to further playing.
So, we tune to Open G tuning (as used by many delta blues and rock greats) and you can play this on you acoustic guitar, electric guitar or even a resonator guitar.
You’ll then learn how to construct a 12 Bar Blues.
Counting along you’ll be able to play it in its most basic form within 5 minutes.
Once done, as a bonus we then teach ways to make it more interesting, like; fingerpicking, bass lines, 7th chords and even how to make it work with a slide.

Hi mate very good lessons,i am 72 years young and i have always liked the blues, have you ever played a aluminum resonter as i have made two of them , and they have a very nice mellow sound as aluminum is a dull metal, drop a piece of aluminum on the floor and it doesn't ring like steel or brass but when you make a resonator nice sound.
