I am from the Caribbean and always wondered why the homes in Florida were not built with more sturdy materials, so these are winners for me. Thanks for the reviews.
@@TomBTerrificyes but compared to the rest of the world it sucks, a lot, they’re known for being that bad that in other countries you hear the “Americans make their homes out of cardboard”
I live in Sarasota and my town house is made of concrete. Most houses done in 2005 were done that way…as a matter of fact Florida’s construction is the best one to withstand hurricanes.
Great video Kaleb, I wanted you to do a video with Onx homes, I like the fact that all there homes are solid coincrete, people don't need to get ripped off by those high home owners insurance policy, concrete will stand up against storms and hurricanes. best.
Great idea. I would live in one. Wish they would, however, put many more built in cabinets and shelves in other rooms of the house (bathroom, bedroom, living room, den, laundry, etc.) as they put in the kitchen. Builders should think about using all space in each room to the MAX all the way up the side of the walls to the ceiling, not just in the kitchen. There is a lot of wasted space in other rooms of the house other than the kitchen because of the lack of shelves and cabinets for homeowners to both (1) display things they are proud of on shelves, and (2) hide things that otherwise make a home look cluttered, put away instead into cabinets. The last thing homeowners want to have to do is buy and transport bulky storage cabinets and shelves for their home and have to take it with them when they eventually move, and it doesn't look as nice as built-in shelves and cabinets.
I love the concret pre-fabric concept. I hope in the future they come with a single story 4bed/3bath model, that will be awesome. Thanks for the content !
That’s awesome! Thanks for watching. Yes, they are taking into consideration improvement to their models. I’m sure they have something 4/3 coming soon. Thanks for sharing. Have an excellent week! 🙂
Great video, but here’s some things I discovered when I toured these homes @ that location. 1 - their materials show they use metal rafters BUT they don’t, NOT in that community. They adv me that the city/county didn’t allow that when they began to build, so they switch to standard wood rafters. Now the county/city approves of the metal rafters but that is considered an option - $35k option (I believe). 2 - they have O, N, X pkgs, which throughout the those models you can see those pkgs. The N pkg doesn’t offer glass shower doors 2:00 nor closet maid built ins. The X pkgs offers glass shower enclosures, closet maid built ins, all windows come with the built in blinds that are in your video, waterfall of the island and the cabinets are of different colors and built in each pkgs. The only thing I didn’t like about those homes is that there is only 1 window you can open up and they don’t come with a screen (because it delays someone from escaping during a fire, which I do t believe but that’s what was told to me). I do love the build and how they look. To me those are modern and I like that. My other issue that I thought about is, if I needed to add electrical outlets outside or inside, they would be ugly due to having to do a metal pole on the wall running to the outlet since you can’t install any addl outlets in the wall because of being of concrete. I will say that the house is solid but it would possibly take some specialty services to come out once the warranty expires.
I was thinking the same thing about the walls when I saw the camera cord being plugged directly into the wall outlet. Not very pretty, but you have to make concessions for a fully concrete house.
Love love love this concept of home! We need it here in FL! Metal trusses? And hurricane windows! Yes yes yes! I want one! Nice floor plans and good use of the space. Why do the entry doors open outward with the hinges on the exterior? Is this something unique to the model homes only? The built-in closets don’t have space to hang long coats or dresses due to the fixed shelves under the hanging rods.
Well I Kazakhstan back then built all mostly the 5 floor building from concrete walls . And it was very quick and cheaper. Here in America construction use different materials to build houses and buildings . Glad it is comes over here
Hey Kaleb and Maleb. Build in as little as 30 days??? The design does look durable. Deep entry to the front door. Good size bedrooms. Nice closet but where would long maxi dresses hang? Nice open concept. Nice pantry size. Open like that will hail a lot of dust. Good size laundry and primary. Ok size en-suite. Ok size closet but again, nowhere to hang long dresses. That should be an easy fix. Nice enclosed covered lanai. Looks like should be able to get a pool back there. 2nd home like the elevation. Good size home. Another deep walk to the entry. Nice 1st bath. Good size open concept. Beautiful kitchen indeed. Covered enclosed lanai. Looks like 2-story have larger backyards. I see. This home is wide so more backyard. The 1st 1-story is deep so less backyard. Agreed. Great sized bedrooms. Nice size primary and en-suite and laundry room with window. Oh a 3rd home ? Ok. Front bedrooms on each side. Nice bathroom and laundry. Lovely kitchen. Good dining/living space. Screened unfinished lanai. Good size backyard. Good size primary and en-suite. Beautiful homes. Don’t recall linen closets in the primary en-suites. Need a linen closet more than a tub and lovely closets but not one in any home had a full hanging area for long maxi or ankle length dresses except the 2nd one with the extra small closet in the primary. Should be an easy fix. Thanks for sharing and have a great week 🤗

beautiful...how about giving us a lower price on a 1500 or less sq ft 2 bed 2 bath or 2 bed 1 and 1/2 baths...full laundry room,, all one floor with roomy two car garage below ( gets living area above flood plain hopefully) kitchen with micro on counter (older bones need ctr level) room for freezer. I will need to install a lift.....stairs are getting harder. This layout is GREAT....still too pricey for average person.#2 ?
They do look comfortable and inviting, not what some imagine when concrete is mentioned. I'm sure they will be welcome in FL and very likely in CA after the recent fires, but they wouldn't be as well suited to the cold weather we have up north. Pre-stressed concrete does make me a bit nervous; it has had problems with the panels cracking and the rebar bowing them in some places, but the technology might work better in the area where these will be built. I'd look for a long warranty. One thing that looked out of place was the ultra-generic front door, which looked out of place on a well appointed house. For that matter, the door and window trim throughout is also pretty generic. I understand that a lot of wood trim could look out of place in this style of house but sills and lintels would make them look a little less like holes in the walls.
We got a company here in uk doing the same thing .so much easier but slighty different as they build whole thing in factory you just supply the plot of land when done they deliver house in parts . Bolt together then job done all ready to go .
Looks really nice. Doesn’t the salt water affect the concrete? Concrete is a porous material and can absorb water easily. Salt water can penetrate concrete and slowly cause it to break down. As well as eating into any underlying metal reinforcements used inside the concrete. What protects it from breaking down?
Hey my brother Kaleb we have this model homes in my town Thies Senegal Africa West Side but built in 6 months . Would love to see your Company over here someday
Great concept. Only flaw is that you have to commit to power outlet numbers, TV and speaker locations and lighting prior to build, thereby it would be difficult to modify after living and experiencing the layout.
I live in a country where concrete and bricks are the standard. we modify outlets all the time for as long as the person doing it knows what their doing and can repair the wall correctly
So what is the approximate cost savings (cost/sf or % reduction) of this type of constuction versus that of conventional concrete block and wood construction?
They have move in ready of #1 the 3 beds starting at $394K and the #2 move in ready that has 2 levels is starting at $467K. Let us know if you need additional information. Have a blessed week. 🙏🏼
Awesome video Kaleb, do you know if they will build on lots near the Burnt Store in Punta Gorda? Also if they could be built up to 10 Feet high for storm surge?
I like someone covering co concrete construction in Florida, I would like to see if there is a price discount for home owners insurance compared to wood construction.
Steel truss and wall frame and they got that plastic wallboard would be great for home in flood areas, but forests gotta be manicured to stop fires, then there's rust vs rotting factor & seemingly those robot built houses going nowhere fast
What's great about today is they have even realized how to make kitchen cabinets bathroom cabinets Out of concrete even replacing drywall will concrete board Out of concrete, even replacing drywall with concrete or concrete board. So even in a flood or a fire. It is so much simpler to fix your home. The insurance saving alone is worth it. You may play more with concrete off the bat , but it's worth it . Just think of simple woodrock and termites. Not to mention fire protection. The best is when the structure has a concrete roof. Is even concrete foundations can become Accommodated to have concrete flooring , never to worry about tile cracking Or wood Is subterranean or Is drywood damage. You can practically choose any color you want to stay in your floors and even have built in patterns in the concrete. That will last the lifetime of the home.
Do insurance companies really give discounts. Insurance companies are denying more than fifty percent of claims. Heard they want to ban standard shingle roofs. Roofs are main things people lose in storms other than flooding. If it floods can it be repaired?
I have a question about Onyx! I think these houses are very nice. I was wondering if Onyx only builds concrete houses in communities, or will they build individual homes for people who have their own land to build on?
Nice places! All concrete; excellent! Unfortunately, the roof is wood; hope it’s rated “superior”: straps, membrane, silver dollars. What’s the Insurance Premiums for these homes? Citizens and/or private?
They have other options for roof like metal and concrete depends on the community and the area. You can find more information on their website. Check our description below. You will get a better insurance quote for this style of homes. If you would like more information email us at Kalebshawhomes@gmail.com. Thanks for watching! Have a blessed week.
I believe they are doing the first communities in FL but have plans to expand to other states. Thanks for your feedback and for watching our channel. Happy Thanksgivings!
Hi Larry. We did mention that prices start in the lows $400K. Our channel is meant to educate our audience about all the options the market in Central FL can offer. With new construction the pricing changes based on inventory available but if you would like more information about a specific model, please email us at kalebshawhomes@gmail.com and we will send you all the details. Thanks for watching and we hope you have a blessed week. Enjoy the holidays with your family.
I must say this, finally someone “Woke” up and realized that conventional materials made no sense in building homes in Florida, concrete modular prefabricated buildings are more durable and resilient to floods, hurricanes and termites, so insurance cost should be greatly reduced! Next is to elevate concrete structures 15-18’ in the air to avoid damage from floods! Common sense says build upon steel piers with a concrete foundation, these homes should be able to withstand 200 mph winds and avoid flooding! I mean are retired people that stupid? 😂😂😂😂
Very nice model home, but with one exception. Having a window in the tub / shower area is a mistake. As a licensed home inspector for 23 years and over 5000 inspections, I have never seen a home with this feature where there wasn't water damage in the wall or window frame caused by placing it in this location.
WHEN THEY START BUILDING THESE IN AN AREA THAT IS NOT THE SINK-HOLE PRONED PART OF THE STATE - I WILL GET ON BOARD. THEY NEED TO MAKE THE CEILINGS TALLER THRU-OUT.
I remember this same concept being used in the Dominican Republic in the 1990s. At $226/sf, where is the price advantage? Instead of offering lower prices since less labor/materials is involved, they want bigger margins. Good luck with that!
ONX only builds in their communities. They do not build on individual lots. Let us know if you would like more information. Thanks for supporting our channel. 🙂

Idk I like it makes it very secure. Just let me option open windows in all areas.
I want to know can I get it done on a duplex
That would be great! At the moment they are not offering that. Thank you for watching!
Try building where there aren't so many sinkholes
Thanks for your feedback and for watching our channel. Happy Thanksgivings!
Are there any HOA rules in this community? Even I am not going to buy any new home, but I would like to see this community.
What about price wise compared with the on place built.
I’m looking to downsize so looking for a two bedroom two bathroom, good size kitchen, five car garage/workshop.
Do insurance companies really give discounts. Insurance companies are denying more than fifty percent of claims. Heard they want to ban standard shingle roofs. Roofs are main things people lose in storms other than flooding. If it floods can it be repaired?
Can they export them in Canada. We need them here .
I don’t believe so, maybe in the future though! Thank you for watching🙂
are you have those home in tampa
What is the cost compare to building in a traditional way
I have a question about Onyx! I think these houses are very nice. I was wondering if Onyx only builds concrete houses in communities, or will they build individual homes for people who have their own land to build on?
Hi. Thanks for watching. They only build in their communities. They do not build individual homes. Let us know if you have additional questions. 🙂
Strictly my opinion every toilet should come with buday And a sink to wash your hands even in toilet closets.
I wonder how well they are insulated.
How and where is insulation. If it floods does it mold? Living in SC masonry houses with homes had termites going up through walls to the wood
Do they build only in Florida?
I believe they are doing the first communities in FL but have plans to expand to other states. Thanks for your feedback and for watching our channel. Happy Thanksgivings!
How can I get more info?
Thank you for watching! Please email me. Shawhomegroup@gmail.com
Kaleb, will ONXHOMES build on private property in Georgia, near Savannah?
No, right now they’re only building in their communities. Thank you so much for watching!🙂
Is Onx building in Southern Florida?
What is the largest home available ?
@@marvin-rollinusa7962 the largest home available in this community will be the two-story 4 bedroom home🙂

With no Prices!!!
Entry doors, side doors, or back doors to a home cannot have the hinges installed outside for obvious reasons (burgulars, safety, etc).
Where can we find the prices for these Onx homes?
Hi there! Please email me and I will be happy to provide you all the information you need. 🙂
Very nice model home, but with one exception. Having a window in the tub / shower area is a mistake. As a licensed home inspector for 23 years and over 5000 inspections, I have never seen a home with this feature where there wasn't water damage in the wall or window frame caused by placing it in this location.
"... save up to 60% on maintenance and insurance costs ..." Where is the savings on actual BUILD costs?
Tell me the cost of the home # 2 will all options.
WHEN THEY START BUILDING THESE IN AN AREA THAT IS NOT THE SINK-HOLE PRONED PART OF THE STATE - I WILL GET ON BOARD. THEY NEED TO MAKE THE CEILINGS TALLER THRU-OUT.
Thanks for your feedback. Have a great week. 🙂
Where is the pricing????
What are the prices , did I miss it? You usually say it up front
Each community has different prices, but the range is from mid-300's to mid-500's to start.
@@foxhound34do you have any this kind construction in Lakeland area
@@divyapatel5041 Homestead, Punta Gorda, and Groveland Florida are the only communities being built right now.
From Colorado,,,I like the model. How much?
Great speaking with you Gary! I will email you shortly.
The price range please
what is the price
I remember this same concept being used in the Dominican Republic in the 1990s. At $226/sf, where is the price advantage? Instead of offering lower prices since less labor/materials is involved, they want bigger margins. Good luck with that!
Thanks for your feedback. Have a great week and a happy thanksgivings!
I hope it works. But didn’t someone prefab homes in the early 1900’s and it didn’t work? 🤔🤔🤔
Thanks for your comment! 🙂
So if you have a lot to build on will ONX build a house for you
ONX only builds in their communities. They do not build on individual lots. Let us know if you would like more information. Thanks for supporting our channel. 🙂

This is what every home near the coast should be made of, concrete. I hope they sell a million of these homes. Stick homes need to go away.
