I don't think people understand just exactly how good that was, that is NOT an easy tune to pull off. Gives you a whole new respect for Maiden doesn't it? PERFECT cover dude, you did the song right!
I think it's one of your best covers. absolutely excellent from start to finish. Hella hard song to play especially at the same level as the artists! Love it man!!!
Haha, very kind of you to think that. I could maybe up my sub/view count by playing all the usual stuff but I kinda like having this little group of viewers who all share similar tastes in music. I will do the odd popular song however but only the ones I really like. :)
The Young Ones will not understand (not really)). My daughter prefers an old shcool rock'n'roll like Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Ac/Dc, DIO, Scorpions, Alice Cooper and KiSS. She is also loves Journey, Bon Jovi, GnR and Kenny Loggins =) anyway, thanks for this one.
People who play and have been humbled by the complicated arrangements Maiden puts out DEFINITELY understand how hard that is to pull off and how unbelievably accurate that is. I'd give that a 9.98.out of 10.00. I didn't hear any mistakes but there had to be at least one. Really pisses me off. 😁
YASSSS!!! So happy you did a Maiden cover. And FOTD is a grrrrreeeeaaaattttt song!! We listen to that last every Sunday before walking up the Dome for the Falcons game...gets us so pumped. Hope you do a few more like The Trooper and Wasted Years! ETA: Oh and great work on the solo...that middle part looked HARD!! Sheet. And lastly Flight 666 is highly addictive!!
Just watched again, seems like you were having a lot of fun playing that! Definitely time for more Maiden brotha! I certainly enjoyed all of the more "flamboyant" movements as you played various parts. Interesting to me how the lead guitar is pretty much right in step with Bruce's singing almost note for note. Quite a bit different from Def Lep. Probably why Iron M has that rousing hymnal quality you get from a really powerful organ hymn. Alright, enough of that, time to load some additional Maiden tunes on my phone for throw's game. Peace! \m/
Sometimes it's better playing a song where there's always something going on the play so I don't have to think about it as much and can just play. Like I've said in other comments and possibly in the description, I don't listen to Maiden a lot if at all. I think they're great but it's not a type of music I'm drawn to. This song and Fear Of The Dark have a nostalgia thing for me so I may get to the latter to play at some point. Of course I also might find at some point that I should try playing something unfamiliar to expand my playing and possibly find new techniques I would otherwise miss. Depends on the mood. :)
+bwm5150 anytime dude your covers are the best no matter what band like def leppard or iron maiden or any other band you're just so damn good dude rock on
Great playing! I really like Your style! Great sound with inexpensive gear (that is something I really admire). If I can suggest, it would be really nice if You could make a video on Your sound (gear settings) and mixing. All the best, and keep up the 80' style!
Class! Well Ben, you need to start listening to more of the Mighty Maiden. Def Leppard were my favourite band back in the day... then Steve died, they became crap and now Iron Maiden are my favourite band!!! They have so many great great songs... And you've just proved you have the ability to do the covers!!! I knew you had it in you anyway. When you get round to it I want to hear "Can I Play With Madness" and "Infinite Dreams" from Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" - my fav album. and then I want to hear loads more.... lol *rubbing hands together in excited anticipation*
+ClarkOVision Oh Ben!!! You also need to do "Alexander The Great" and "The Loneliness of The Long Distance Runner" two fav's of mine and there's not too many covers around of these. From the Somewhere In Time album. :) :D :D :D :D Thank You! I can lend you my Adrian Smith Signature Jackson if you like ;) I do have one.
+ClarkOVision Cheers. Like I said in another comment, I think the band is great and I'm proud to have them flying the flag for British metal but I don't find myself listening to them much. It's just the way I'm wired where I tend to favour more popish (almost RnB) melodies and arrangements with occasional forays into heavier stuff. If I was to do another I would probably do Fear of the Dark first as that's my other favourite. I really liked the old Donnington live vid they would sometimes show of that one. :)
Lovley job. I'm playing it wrong haha Any chance of adding it to the list of songs to tab pls Ben. Interesting the parallels between maiden and leppard aren't they , both going to worldwide success from the NWOBHM
Too bad you;re not a Maiden fan per se.. funny thing is that I felt the exact same way about Def Leppard and came around as I realized how timeless their music is. And for the record I have been a Maiden fan since 1985.
+Rendclaw I think Maiden are great and are rightfully up there as one of the best bands ever for their songs, guitar work and live performances. It's just that I don't find myself listening to that type of music a lot if at all.
+bwm5150 Maiden are the only Metal band I listen to because they are the only metal band that produce quality music of that type with harmony and melody.
I encourage you to listen to Maiden more. Based on your style and tastes I would suggest Somewhere In Time, Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, Dance Of Death & The Book Of Souls. Nice job!!
I've had my interests delve deeper into Maiden in my teens but like I say I don't find myself listening to them these days apart from a couple of songs.
This is call the real guitar cover... Or else I see alot of guitarist just play the original track... N pretend to play by placing fingers it's original chord.. but doesn't sound of their guitar

Thanks Jason! Definitely took some muscle memory and stamina building to get it comfortable. :)
I think it's one of your best covers. absolutely excellent from start to finish. Hella hard song to play especially at the same level as the artists! Love it man!!!
i really don't know why your channel isn't trending, you're one of the best cover players on the channel. You deserve it

That was incredible! And the most accurate cover of Aces High I've ever seen/heard.
That harmonic at 3:55 was so tasteful and well executed
Wow...the best cover...tks

Thanks for the kind words! I made a stream last year going over my set up with tips on how to achieve a similar sound (related to Def Leppard).
@@bwm5150 Found it, it was a good one! Tnx!

+OR.G GUITERCOVER Cheers. Could maybe write up a tab on my Facebook page.

Sounds like it could be a good fit for Kill Em All.
Clap clap clap clap.
is that a Floyd Rose system??
It's a licensed Floyd Rose.
No .
so jealous I can only play basic chords
we all start somewhere
This is call the real guitar cover... Or else I see alot of guitarist just play the original track... N pretend to play by placing fingers it's original chord.. but doesn't sound of their guitar
Thanks, I try to mix it so my guitar is audible enough without being too overpowering
