Very interesting but I have to disagree with one point. Wallis didn't have a long suffering second husband. They BOTH colluded to use Edward for whatever they could get out of him. They were both gold diggers and social climbers. She intended to leave Edward if he got too serious but he threatened to commit suicide if she did. I may be wrong but I think he even attempted it once to prove he was serious. She had no intention of marrying him, only ever using him, but couldn't have his death on her concscience. She begrudgingly divorced her husband. She treated Edward appalingly and with utter contempt thereafter. Trapped in a loveless marriage. After they married she still wrote to her now ex husband for two years. Letters saying, what have we done, how much she missed him and still loved him and how heartbroken she was. She was trapped and hated Edward for it. She spent the rest of their marriage putting him down in front of guests and ridiculing him for his perceived stupidity. Somehow he still seemed enthraled by her. Be careful what you wish for! This is facsinating... th-cam.com/video/Swd3ISRF_wY/w-d-xo.html

Actually, George V was not the eldest son of Edward VII. He had an elder brother named Albert who passed away while Queen Victoria still reigned. He was named after Prince Albert of course as Queen Victoria had decreed for at least one member of each generation thereafter in the Royal Family. It was on Albert's passing that George became the second in line to the throne, and acceded to it in 1910 upon the demise of
    Edward VII.

And if correctly remembered, Mary of Teck was to have married the son of Victoria who died. But Victoria really wanted Mary as a daughter in law and had her marry George. Fortunately, that union was fruitful in every way with the sad youngest son John who had epilepsy and mental slowness and he died in his teens.
      But I stand corrected here.

You just have to love that the British call Edward a "traitor" for abdicating so that he could marry who he wanted to marry, yet Henry VIII not only murdered his wives so he could do the same, but also changed the religion in England for the same reason, to accommodate his own proclivities. Then there is the example of the current king who had an affair throughout his entire marriage and also forced the church to bend to his wishes to marry the old boot, who, unbelievably, is now queen. Ridiculous!

Apparently, the Duke of Windsor and Adolf Hitler brokered a deal that if Germany conquered Great Britain, Adolf Hitler would restore The Duke of Windsor to the throne ?
Wasn't Queen Victoria 's youngest grandson , Charles Edward - Duke of Coburg served The Third Reich . And Wasn't one of their cousins , The Prince of Waldeck -Piermont , didn't he serve the Third Reich as a Camp Commandant of the Buchenwald Concentration camp ? Oh and what about The Princess of Hohenloe - Langenburg? Aaaah yes. That family was filled with Nazis.

I had no idea that David decided in his earlier years that he didn’t want kids & among things that became obvious about his character as he got older, he definitely showed signs of not being fit to rule. So whether Bertie liked it or not, I feel like he was definitely destined on some level to be next in line, because that would’ve put Elizabeth next in line & she definitely showed signs early on of being ruler material!

Seems ridiculous, even comical, to suggest he was not a bright mind and that all of a sudden, Germany would listen to him on military strategy and decide, based on something he said to some Portuguese businessman in private, to bomb London. Germany most likely already had that plan in the offing way before and it was part of the natural processes of war. First take care of your immediate enemies then the more distant ones. I venture to say also, that most likely the Germans did not regard him as a brilliant strategist of warfare and therefore would not follow advice from him nor anyone else who like him, did not have a true military career.

Sad that it took pure tragedy to enable the royals, specifically the direct heirs to the throne to

Edward, Duke of Windsor, was not terribly well educated, seemed to exhibit very little intellectual curiosity, was emotionally stunted, and all of this, plus his wounded pride and vast ignorance, made him a perfect puppet for the Hitler regime.
Wallis Simpson could not be relied upon to shed any social, economic or global intelligence to influence him, and possibly enjoyed being treated as though she were a queen when in Nazi Germany.
Together, they were perfect tools and fools for the Nazis.
    One humble opinion.

Investing can be a powerful tool for building wealth and securing financial stability especially in this hard time. but it’s important to understand that it’s not without its challenges. The investment landscape is inherently volatile, with periods of both gains and losses. This variability is a natural part of investing and requires a clear strategy and patience to navigate effectively.
