I'm curious as to how non-native speaker adapt to courses that are taught in Japanese. Are they given language courses for 2 years before enrolling into their Master's program? Doesn't that delay your Master's degree to some extent? I've passed JLPT N4 with a decent score, but I'm aware it is not enough to understand the complex and technical terms of engineering. Hi Moid, Congratulations, you're at the final step which is mainly administrative. Just make a preference order according to the professors or labs where you want to work at. The same research theme is okay but you're free to make adjustments if there is any major difference.

No. Japanese is not mandatory to learn, you just need to make sure that you choose the course which offers classes in English or at least most classes if not all.
Hi Maruf, Unfortunately Japanese scholarships have criteria of 80% marks in the last degree. You can still look into taking admissions privately and then by applying for fee exemption. And cover the remaining cost by part time jobs.

After they said that you have to first clear Entry Test and they also said you have to come Japan for the test. Do you have any idea about the traveling expenses? Is it sponsored by MEXT too? or if there is any other way to do this please share🙂
Hi Jawad, I see, I didn't know that such requirements exist. The travel will most probably not be sponsored by the MEXT. You can tell the professor that it's not easy for you to Visit Japan for test and especially the visa process can be tricky and request them to arrange some online test.

Yeah, you can send introductory email with CV and based on professor's reply you can make proposal if they ask for it.

Yes that's right. University of Tokyo has different procedure. You need to apply on their portal first.

It's okay to mention the name of professor, if you got the acceptance. You can also mention just department and university name.

Congratulations, you're at the final step which is mainly administrative. Just make a preference order according to the professors or labs where you want to work at.
The same research theme is okay but you're free to make adjustments if there is any major difference.

Hi, the reason is that there are many engineering universities in Japan which offer programs in English. If you can find any program in archeology offered in your preferred language then there is no reason not to apply for it.

Yes that's possible. And language proficiency certificate works in most universities. Actually when professor takes interview, he/she can also decide to give you expemtioon from IELTS if they are satisfied with your English ability.

It is allowed but tell the other universities as soon as you get admission in the first university.

No. Japanese is not mandatory to learn, you just need to make sure that you choose the course which offers classes in English or at least most classes if not all.

Unfortunately Japanese scholarships have criteria of 80% marks in the last degree.
You can still look into taking admissions privately and then by applying for fee exemption. And cover the remaining cost by part time jobs.

It depends upon each university. For example Tokyo Tech asks to get an acceptance letter from the professor before applying at the university portal.

I've been interviewed by a Japanese Professor for Master's via University Track. After they said that you have to first clear Entry Test and they also said you have to come Japan for the test. Do you have any idea about the traveling expenses? Is it sponsored by MEXT too? or if there is any other way to do this please share🙂

I see, I didn't know that such requirements exist.
The travel will most probably not be sponsored by the MEXT.
You can tell the professor that it's not easy for you to Visit Japan for test and especially the visa process can be tricky and request them to arrange some online test.
