All hail the Hypno Toad.
She should named him Jabba the hut or just Jabba
all glory to the hypno toad
Hypno toad...hypno toad....hypno toad
I love the Hypno Frog!🐲🐸
Hypnooooooo
Missed the opportunity to put the Bird Poop Frogs at #2 😏
😂😂😂😂
This made me laugh like I’m 12-years-old again. Lol.
took me a few seconds, but I got there!🤣
damn good one haha... I never even thought of that lol 🤣🤣🤣
Ohhhh lol
Snake Discovery is no more…HELLOO FROG DISCOVERY
Hahaha
Amphibian discovery lol
LOL
lol
hahaha❤😂
Fun fact: New Zealand has 4 native frog species, none of them croak because they have no eardrums and 3 of the 4 don’t have a tadpole stage!
Wow!! New Zealand has some weird animals!! I hope they are all protected!
@@amandastakeonit7402there are ongoing efforts but they don’t seem to be enough yet. Their numbers are still declining with some at critical level.
Wow 😲❤
Even cooler thing about the glass frog is, since they don't have transparent blood, apparently in the daytime they go in a kind of hibernation state that will lower how much blood is visible under them!
Cool!
Yeah, I saw a video from an amphibian dude on yt and he showed that, which is so cool to see.
I love glass frogs.
I could watch them for hours.
The fact that you can see the individual chambers of their tiny hearts beating fascinates me.
When they sleep, they actually actively hide their blood! I believe most of it goes into their kidneys, which are coated in a reflected material called guanine! When they get pumped up, their blood is visible throughout their bodies.
Yes! Came here to say that. Nature, you so weird.
The mossy frog starting to call in response to the video was super cute!
I love the fact the leaf frog doesn't go through a metamorphosis. I would have never guess there are frogs that doesn't go through a tadpole phase... Like... What?? I loved it! Hahahah
There are Toad species that do not go through metamorphosis as well.
I can't believe how cool frogs are, I absolutely fascinated by their different camouflages too
Me clicking this thumbnail: "Oh, cool a frog video."
Me, the first 5 seconds of the video: "CHUNGUS FWOG!!!"
ALL HAIL THE HYPNOFWOG
Frogs are just one of the cutest animals ever. They have such a variety of shapes, textures and sizes, but they are almost all adorable!
The vietnamese mossy frogs camouflage is absolutely amazing. Me and my family saw them at an aquarium and were amazed at how well the camouflage worked. It took us way too long to realize that none of the moss on the tree was ACTUALLY moss.
First snake discovery, then duck discovery, now frog discovery!? Wow, then what??
Next is croc or gator discovery
@@GamingKingdom91 yeah
Wait ducks?
@@horsetuna from a shenanigans video I think
@@GamingKingdom91 after gator discovery it's going to be turtle discovery
The mossy tree frog responding to the video made me legit tear up from the cuteness.
You showed us the bird poop frogs briefly in a snake video. You were having trouble getting a snake to eat and looked up which frogs you have that overlap that snake's range in the wild, then rubbed a frozen thawed mouse over the frogs to scent it. If I remember correctly, the trick worked. I just can't remember how long ago you posted the video or what species of snake it was.
False water cobra. They are native to South America
@@emilyelizabethbuchanan998 Thank you! I'll have to rewatch that video.
The New Zealand Native frogs are weird little guys, no external eardrum, round eyes and don't croak. Two species also don't have a tadpole stage. Male Archey's frogs carry the froglets on their back its super cute.
Mossy tree frogs sound almost like the guinea pigs chatting/exploring noise! 8:46
Glass frogs are one of my favorites! I love their nickname, the forbidden gummy frog
Forbidden snack 😋
Guys guess what? I'm 36 years old and getting a pet I never thought I'd have: a snake! I have been a lifelong animal lover, collecting inverts as a child and having dogs, cats, fish, and frogs as pets. I never was overly afraid of snakes, but I never saw their appeal as a pet until I saw a hognose and have been learning to understand snake behavior from your videos. Well now I've put down a deposit, bought all her stuff, and plan for her to arrive in April!
Congratulations. Please watch all the videos you can on hognoses. They are NOT easy pets, especially as a first time snake keeper.
@amandastakeonit7402 Thanks! I've been watching and reading a lot even before making the decision, have a great breeder who has been answering a lot of questions, joined a group of hoggie owners, chosen one who's a good eater and enjoys being handled...I want to do things right!
Congrats!
Seeing how the mossy frog reacted, have y'all ever played recordings of all of your animals to each other to see how they react? Like has Rex ever heard a gator that's not herself? I feel like that could be fun to see what they do, if anything
I second this as a great potential video idea
@@Lilith-RoseDarling Rex. Would be lovely to hear her express herself!!
It seems like she is no longer a family pet, to be handled and cherished, but more of a zoo spectacle.
Slightly off topic, but it was mentioned: I used to work somewhere that had a large bald eagle population and I’ve always thought they sounded like squeaky screen doors. Very akin to a rusty hinge.
I have dart frogs (spotted poison frog). Not really weird but beautiful and active during the day and I love watching them in their bioactive house.
The weirdest frog for me are Surinam toads, they are so cool. I know Tanner Serpa has a pair, I love their enclosure builds
I love the way frog suction toes feel on my hand…but it’s not just their toes that I love,❤❤❤ I love frogs 🐸 period. I wish I could have them all.
I got a glass frog recently and I love it soooo much!!! He's so adorable when he falls asleep and just becomes a blob
Hi Emily and Ed I've been watching you guys for YEARS now and I just wanna thank you for making great memories about my childhood and snakes :) I appreciate you guys keep doing what your doing!!
Oh, glory to the Hypno toad
I knew the glass frog was gonna be in this video. They're just so unique. That moss frog, though, so generous and polite! It was kind enough to share with us the song of its people. 😊
I think the Purple frog/Pig nose frog is the weirdest frog. Its found in india. It lives underground primarily. It only comes out in the for the 2 weeks of monsoon rain season to mate. It would be cool if you had it and had it in an under ground home with clear glass to see whats underground. Kinda like an ant farm . 😊
Those glass frogs are the cutest little guys ever! It genuinely looks like Emily is wearing a little froggy pin! So tiny! I want an army of them! 😂
YAY! SNAKE DISCOVERY POSTED!!!!! ❤❤❤❤.
Fun fact, march 20th is International frog day and where I'm at its already the 20th so your timing is perfect!
Happy frog day everyone!!!
March 20th is my bday 😂
I have to agree on the comparison between mossy frog calls and bald eagles, bald eagles sound like an intoxicated seagull
As someone who keeps glass/ghost shrimp and adores the little dudes so much SEE-THROUGH ANIMALS ARE SO WEIRD AND REALLY COOL!
Something really cool about glass frogs is that they can change how transparent they are, and even have the ability to make the edges of their bodies look blurry! This makes them really good at blending into the leaves they hide on.
I love the bird poop frogs!!! Saw them at your zoo and I thought they were just so cool and the name is hilarious.
Hi ed and Emily we are from the uk , my little girls is 4 with complex disabilities and loves watching your videos if she’s having a melt down or coming out of a seizure I put on one of your videos and it instantly calms her down , hopes to work with animals one day we love your videos ❤
A question... all animals, or perhaps herpetologist like Emily and Ed?
I would love to see a video about all the animals that glow under black light. I recently learned that American possums glow pink under black light.
And platypuses will glow teal.
The Soloman frog actually had veining on it that looked like leaves-really cool.
The frogs are sooo cute their cuteness beats their interesting abilities 🥰
I LOOOOVE the glass frogs, they look unreal! Like little glass figurines come to life!
Who else literally drops everything when Snake Discovery posts?
that shape on animals like the eared frog helps enhance hearing in general (it's the reason owls have a flat face, underneat the feathers the face shape acts as a parabola that helps them hear better), so I would guess that's the reason! Quite literally a ear extension!
Loved these different frogs but you need to check out the Australian Motorbike frog which is native and only found in my corner of Australia in the South West of Western Australia. It's named the Motorbike frog for a reason, it sounds just like a revving Motorbike going through gear changes. Can quite often be mistaken for an actual Motorbike as they can get quite loud!! Most amazing sound to listen too, especially from a frog!!
I love your 5 weirdest frogs! I’m actually a frog owner myself and have 2 aquatic frogs! The species name is called African Clawed Frogs. They live fully in water and don’t need land. I had one for 10years. I also have owned Tomato frogs from Madagascar. I think these frogs would make a nice addition to your zoo! My favorite Frog on your list would have to be the Leaf Litter Frog- I find it fascinating that they skip the tadpole stage and go right into looking like adults! Thank you for showing off your frogs and hope to see more soon!
I absolutely adore green tree frogs! I live in far north Queensland, and with the rain we have had this wet season, the frogs have gone crazy! I opened my front door last night and realised that there were young green tree frogs all over my door (plus the one I sort of stood on 😢).
Yas! Bedtime snake discovery video! I love how your update time fits so often with me going to bed. It's like a nice, fun and teaching bedtime story :D
Omg!! I LOVE frogs!
I love how they have almost every animal under the sun 😂
Edit: I know that they are a reptile zoo and that’s what I mean by animal I’m so sorry if you misunderstood
All they need are some cats, dogs, other zoo animals (like elephants,panthers...etc)
I could keep going lol
@@GamingKingdom91they are a reptile zoo which means they specialize in reptiles and they are indoors so that limits the amount but they still do have many cool animals
@@Space_gremlinyet a frog and tortoise are not reptiles so they dont only do reptiles
@@telsclarka tortoise is a reptile?!?!?!
@telsclark A tortoise is a reptile. But a frog is an amphibian. They also have insects and spiders in their zoo as well.
Weird frogs , loved the extra at the end
I LOVE FROG DISCOVERY
Listening to the mossy frog call, I couldn't help but picture the desert rain frog... They have no necks... And they have the cutest little screams.
As an animal TH-camr I know how hard it is to run a channel like editing, thumbnail making, and film while caring for more than one animal. The fact that ur able to post every 3 days is admirable. Seriously I started making thumbnails today. I’m eagerly waiting for summer bc big channel changes are coming but I’m running out of ideas. Seriously 👏 good job.
Ok but clearly we need a glass frog pin bc little dude is crazy cute just vibing on emily's shirt!!
Also the leaf frogs are terrestrial and don't have a tadpole stage?? Y'all just introduced a whole new dimension to my solomon island biotope daydream 😂
Not a very feasible pet frog, but the weirdest frog I know is the Brazilian tree frog (xenohyla truncata) which is the world's only known fruit-eating frog!
Weirdest lizards would be a great vid as well, the horned lizard being one lol
I love seeing the froggies
My fiance and I are so into frogs. We got our first frog together (I've kept toads and whites tree frogs in the past) last weekend at a reptile expo and he's one of my fiance's dream spieces, the pixie frog. Thank you for your love of frogs and amphibians.
Camouflage in Nature always blows my mind!
The mossy frog is SO PRETTY, and the glass frog is SO CUTE 🤏
I'm glad you guys have glass frogs too, they are the cutest! I have reticulated and Northern glass frogs, I'm hoping to become a breeder up here in Canada 🐸
This is Frog Week! Lindsay Nikole also did a video on frogs! Please note that Lindsay Nikole does use adult language in her videos.
Simone Giertz did a frog related build this week. Must be something in the water.
I think skipping the tadpole stage is weirder than being translucent
the glass frog moving it's head around is adorable
All frogs are very weird
Gahhhh I so want to visit your zoo. Maybe one day. Thanks Ed & Emily for sharing your menagerie with us all, especially those of us many miles away.
I'm a local who has purchased 8 spiders from ya guys, and one pacman frog.
Thank you for being here!
#2 I love you ❤❤❤snake discovery……you guys are the cutest educational you tubers out there…..
❤ missed you this weekend. Can’t wait for the video
Omg that mossy tree frog calling back to the video is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen 💀😭
Yo… frogs!!!!
Aw, the little glas frog fit perfectly on Emilys shirt 😍 I absolutely agree that they are no. 1 on your list!
I can’t help but laugh whenever I think of this. A frog literally saw a bird poop on a leaf and thought, “Hold on a second, that gives me an idea.”
hey what times are you guys open? im coming over my spring break!! (any candies you and your staff want??)
Frogs are fantastic. I've seen a few videos with glass frogs, they're absolutely adorable
We’re going to need a bigger zoo at this rate
i absolutely love the pumpkin toadlet. so small that its inner ear fluid can’t help it balance, so it just jumps and hopes for the best.
it also will call out, but again, the ear canals are so small that they physically cannot hear other toadlet calls. so it just yells out into the void.
The glass frog is like “here’s all my goodies”
As a Vietnamese, I have never known this frog exist in my country or the blue beauty snake because I have never seen them in any zoo. It's so cool to learn about them on your channel
I love how animals have certain camo and it just works. Like nature knew wtf it was doing with those bird poop frogs lol. Its amazing how much they look like bird poop.
If i was there looking at em id be screaming at how cool they are. Jumping up and down too lol
OMG THE LEAF FROG AND MOSS ONE TOO! i wanna work here sooooooo bad. No degree but a shet ton of experience lol
we’ve got a couple mossy frogs at the aquarium where i volunteer and i can’t even find them half the time! their camouflage is incredible
Top 5 CUTEST weirdest frogs:
1. Glass tree frog
2. Mossy frog
3. Glass tree frog
4. Glass tree frog
5. Baby Solomon leaf frog
Love your videos
I'd have to say my favorite of those frogs was the big squishy faced frog you were holding in the beginning of the video.
Bird poop frog! She said it so excitedly.
Glass door was so adorable! it was so alert and curious
Love all of their videos and they make me so happy
P.S. The ears also, very likely, serve an audio function. Borneo is famous for having dense thick forests where sound does not travel well. The "ears" possibly capture more sound.
That Borneo eared frog is overthinking his life choices 😅
Immediately seeing my fav when I start this video! Hypno the Hutt!!! Lol I love the Star Wars references when he’s featured on the channel.
the glass frogs also look like smokey/foggy glass! they're so adorable
Exited to watch
Can't believe that you didnt mention the fact that glass frogs were the inspiration (kinda) for the most famous frog of them all, Kermit the Frog!
My wife and I are dying over how cute these frogs are
If you want a really weird looking frog you GOTTA go with the Lake Titicaca frog! They're fully aquatic but they're such lumpy goofy looking lil guys! We have them at the zoo I volunteer at and I always get a kick out of seeing them :)
Oh that was really fun!! Love it! Really enjoyed the eared frog in particular, the tiger stripes and wood texture on its back are REALLY neat!
I've got a few recs for weird frogs!
The hairy frog (breaks its own bones as a self-defense)
The waxy monkey tree frog too.
You should absolutely get a pair of surinam toads. They are by far one of the strangest species I've ever encountered in terms of reproduction. They do require a pretty much fully aquatic setup and are ambush predators that live among rotting leaves in the water but they are just so cool
It’s the Hypno-toad
I'd love to see a " Top 5/10 biggest/smallest animals at our zoo!". Also, you should totally get a shingleback, Budget's frog or a sand viper.
First it was Lindsay Nikole, now it's Emily. I'm learning so much about frogs this week! 😆
Those glass frogs are super cute. We moved and have been hearing frogs all around out house, but I finally found one of them yesterday. I don't think northern Pacific tree frogs count as weird, but they are cute and loud. ^^;;
