Hi Annie, looks like you could use some help. Tips, the water container pulls right out so you can fill it to the max line and just seat it back in with a slight push. The baskets are double walled so that screen at the bottom needs to be removed and cleaned out to keep from plugging the one hole in the bottom of the basket. Grab a teaspoon and slide the spoon under the rubber tab then hold the tab down with your finger on the spoon, then pry up with the spoon, it will pop out that bottom screen to clean. Just push back in when done. I like that you are weighing the grounds so you can make an espresso to your liking, shops use 1:2 ratio so 10g coffee to 20g output (Epsresso), you might find you like 2.5 or 3 ratio output. If you like Americanos use the wand and turn the knob to the water option to make the Americano. Next step would be removing the plastic on the bottom of the portafilter and putting in a single walled 18g basket, Use beans and a grinder to dial in your shot. Note a good low end grinder is $200 to $400? Check the used market if you need to save money and good luck on your journey!

the difference between drip and espresso is the grind. espresso is super fine. & you basically just need to invest into a grinder that can grind fine enough. & buy fresh whole beans. your coffee will taste like a coffee shopppppp

Turn off the scale put the thing on it and turn it on again and put the coffee on it so you only count the weight of the coffee not the thingy
