    Loved the video diary. Well done to both of you. Thinking of going in October this year. (2024) Going solo at the moment and leaving from Scotland. Your route gives me some ideas of what to expect. Will give the desert a miss if i go alone. Thanks for sharing. Appreciated.👍👍

    This was nice to follow your exciting trip, thanx for sharing with us! I attend to go on May '24 and hope, the heat isn.t that hard... up 40°...uuurgh! The sand passages were really hard, so alone, I wouldn.t risk that, except I find a guide or companion! Have a good time, farewell, Henry 👍👍👍 Much too less thumbs up... left a subscribe, it.s worth!!!

    Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed watching your trip. Brought back some great memories. Did a round robin ride, start/end in Marrakech in May, 2023. Rode to aim Imlil, Beni Mellal, Fes, Midelt, Merzouga, Ouarzazate. I brought summer gear, there was a lot of cold weather, & surprisingly rain.

      We must have arrived at the point when the weather changed, it was boiling! There was a heatwave in southern Spain too, so we had upper 30 degrees hitting 40+ on occasion. It felt properly African Sahara. They do say Morocco is a cold country with a hot sun!

    Great finish to the story. The only thing missing is having a wobbly camera on a stick behind you as you ride along...oh and there's no Freddie Dobbs either :-(

    Really enjoyed all of your videos and its been on my bucket list to visit Morocco for over twenty years but at 63 I will probably have to admit defeat on riding my Vstrom 650 there and take a flight instead to visit the sights

      No way Alan! Your exactly the right age to take on bit of a trip. Give yourself a month, take 4/5 days each way across Spain and 10/14 days in Morocco. You will love it. You can travel on tarmac to the main places. There are plenty of organised tours too, Globe busters etc

      @rustynutsbikes No specific routes
      Just avoid motorways and major cities
      That way you meet the real people of Morocco
      They have very little but are prepared to share it
      Would be interested in the costs of hotels when you went
      Did you get your insurance at the port as we found it had increased a lot from our previous adventure
      Our insurance in UK no longer issue Green Card
      Nice videos by the way 👍

    I really enjoyed this series. Thank you for sharing it. I've got a couple of questions if that's ok?
    Firstly... Do you pre-book hotels on the internet a day or two out or do you rock up in a town and find a place?
    And second... What about leaving your bike to have a walk around a town or village or whatever - is the luggage laden bike safe or do you always stay in eyeshot of it?

    • @rustynuts82
      @rustynuts82  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I tend to book the next stay while I have wifi the evening before. I usually have an end point in mind, so look for the nicest, cheapest or best place to stay. If we’re not sure of the end point we just rock up and take pot luck.
      We keep the bikes in view at cafes etc. I have left my bike with lockable aluminium boxes beforehand. On this trip with soft panniers, better for off road, we kept an eye. TBH, if you can carry valuables in a tank bag or locked in a top box, so you might only lose a t shirt….it’s probably ok to leave the bike in most villages. Big cities probably not. Glad you enjoyed watching the trip. Good luck!

    love the vid . i'm off there solo on my v strom 650 in 3 weeks , a quick question if i may , . Can i get good quality motor oil ( 10w 40 ) in morroco ?

    • @rustynuts82
      @rustynuts82  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is plenty of oil in petrol stations, fairly sure 10/40 is available. Does your Strom leak?

    • @stubbzzy310
      @stubbzzy310 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Loads of 10/40 available, its in every garage/station. Word of warning to KTM fans however 10/50 or anything exotic is none existent. my bike ran pretty low on the return leg so going again i'd take a 1lt bottle as back up

    • @allenlloyd2662

      @@allenlloyd2662 oil is easy to find although maybe not 10/40 in Morocco. They hardly have bikes there, just small Chinese bikes. If the Strom doesn’t use much just take half litre as precaution
