  • You don’t seem to find any dual band high gain omnidirectional antennas for the wifi spectrum. So, in this video I show you how to make your own @5db
The ¼ wavelength used is 21.5mm with 6mm diameter tubing

This knowledge is very important to me. Thanks Mr. Andrew.

The measurements of the coil are not clear to me, so the wire is 1,5 mm in diameter so about the same as a 2,5mm square electrical wire. But the diameter of the coil is that the inner or outer diameter??

It is always with interest that I watch for years your instructive and very educational videos. I have a question about the possibility of using WIFI frequency to repatriate water height data in a well to a receiver at the head of this well. The well is 100m deep, circular in section and 450mm in diameter. I would like your opinion on this possibility of this process. I couldn't find a formula for wave propagation and attenuation in a long tube connected to earth. Thanks.

Love the video how 2 but would like schematic showing your numbers and maybe turn it into a small beam antenna i have built some yagis, poles, and inverted v antennas but they were 2 meters and 70 cm frequencies

It's nice showing how to make the antennas but what about the mathematics behind it i.e. Lander over frequency and getting the Measurements for quarter wave half way and 3/4 wave.

There are other channels that do that but unfortunately, they struggle to get the views. Most people just want to know enough to build a working antenna and are not interested in the math. If it was as simple as Lander over frequency it probably would not be too much of a problem but to truly understand it you need a firm understanding of calculus.

I wish i could buy a well designed antenna like this somewhere.

@@andrewmcneil hello sir my question is can we increase tx power of alfa awus036nha model to gain long range signal? Default tx power of adaptor is 20dbm which work normally.

??????? When are u going to build a direction antenna for 4G and LTE combined covering 700Mhz as well now that AU has stripped it from the TV bands and allocated it to mobile wireless services. Hopefully hi-gain enough for a 16km distance.

Antenna that u have, it is from which model of tplink? Is it dual band antenna?

Hi, I'm designing a computer case and want to integrate a Wifi Antenna, after trying several comercial antennas I made a Biquad based on your video and it is by far the best, 5 bars all the time, would you recommend a different design? I think I prefer directional antenna, I can make it so users can re-orient it to face their router, am i right in thinking this will perform better then any omni design?

A directional antenna will always out perform an omi. Fun fact though Apple tried this in 2001 but scraped the idea because people complained they had to put the pc case at weird angles and did not look cool on their desk.

Remember, in life you have three choices when it comes to the internet connection.
Spend all of your life savings, by using phone data.
Spend a couple of dollars monthly on nice stable wired broadband.
Spend a couple of dollars only once, for a good antenna.
I really like how many will actually choose the first option.

Can be made with a coaxial tv cable?

    • @kevinspage
      @kevinspage 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

Coaxial TV cable has an impedance of 75 ohms. Most radio systems use 50 ohm coax. For max power transfer from antenna to radio impedance should match. If you get some 50 ohm coax like used for CB radio you can trim it so the center conductor is 1/4 wave length for the frequency your looking for then fold the shield part of the coax, that is the same length as the center conductor down over the cable for the second half of the dipole. The main issue is the SMA connector which would be difficult to mate to a larger 50 ohm cable like RG58U. That's why smaller diameter coax is used in most WiFi antennas. Larger coax is better as it has less loss. You can use the wrong impedance cable but its length must match the wavelength for the frequency so whatever impedance is at the antenna end will be reflected at the radio end. Study dipole antennas for more information.

Seems like an AI supercomputer could run billions of design iterations to come up with the most effective dual band antenna size and shape.
