Follow me on my journey from Sibu to Miri, with a night stop at Kuching. Why the strange routing when there is a direct flight between Sarawak's 2nd largest city and Sarawak's largest town? The answer is simple: Miri-Sibu vv. is super expensive. Flying to (and from) Sibu to Miri is usually more expensive than flying Sibu-Kuching-Miri, even though the route is subsidised!

Thanks for watching! MH did offer B737 flights between KCH and SBW until 2015, before the fleet reshuffling. MH handed the route to MASWings after that as it was considered lose making. MH flies to only MYY and BKI in east Malaysia from KCH with B738.
