    Awesome video, I fell in love for The TT when I saw the first pictures in the Motor trend magazine from the Frankfurt Auto Show 1995, I promise myself to get it and finally I got i2005 tree years ago in Bend Oregon and drove it to Texas where I live. The car was one owner and with perfect service records. Just turn 100,000 miles last December. Love it and my goal is to get one of each generation.

    Honestly I normally straight away click the next video on youtube when there is no voiceovers.
    This video upload I didn't and am thankful for it.
    Shows how much I cherish my 2001 Audi 225 Mk1 TT Quattro . : )
    With a few mods to the suspension and Eagle F1 Supersport tires they handle incredibly well.
    Best modification I found was adjustable H&R sway-bars.
    The increase in grip is noticeable.
    Sway-bars are the one suspension mod that doest wear your tire crooked.

    Thanks for this. You've helped me learn more about my new to me 113K '01 roadster. Been waiting for a part for a week in Tempe but hope to get it this AM and be on my way back to OH. I may just drive it to Monarch, since I'm over 65, for snowboarding. Again, thank you for your work here.

      @@hrg3design905 I'm actually in the market for a MK1 TT Coupe at the moment.
      What are they like to live with?

    • @hrg3design905

      @@viowithcrailtap I think the TT is a great all-rounder. First make sure you get a car with a great maintenance history. Also then get your mechanic to check it out. Unless your good at fixing things. The first Gen TT is getting to the point price wise that people just drive and ignore. Timing belt, water pump are number 1 on the list. Its a real interference engine. Now to the great things, the car I had right before my first TT was a Porsche 944S2 three liter quick. My test drive of my first TT, I got the car up on the turbo and wow! The TT is modifiable, that 1.8t engine has a lot of potential. My wife uses hers everyday, we live in Colorado so that means snow. Simply M+S tires and the Haldex quattro system works great. So find a good one, pay more for it, maintain it and it will never let you down.

    Wow, wow and wow. The ribbons say it all. And, it's true. When you like 'em there's no reason to change. My first car was an '54 Austin Healey 100-4 rebuilt in 1962 and eventually raced nationally with SCCA. We bought used tires from Hap Sharp and Jim Hall.
    In 1990, when our oldest was 16 we found an '82 320i with 150K on it. She drove it thru college, another 100K. Since, we've had over thirty BMW's for my wife, two daughters and me (stick shifts when I could find them).
    Then, I accidentally watched Doug Demuro's video about the same time a dealer in Tempe had my '01 baseball, manual top. Drove it home to OH non stop, 1887 miles, 27:56 hrs moving time, catching three hours in a Walmart parking lot in Springfield, MO. I grinned the whole way reminded of why I so enjoyed the Healey. I became part of it on that run, and with similar mods as yours over the past year, it became part of me. The front wheel / quad is so different than rear wheel to drive, it just adds to the fun. Thanks for all your work for this video. Have you seen anyone with a snowboard carrier ? P.S. Another ride is my 2000 LOOK 381 / Campy. P.P.S I board at Monarch as my brother has a place close to Florissant.

      Chris you've asked a couple of questions I'll try to answer here. Great place to look for a lot of TT help is "Waks Wide Web" www.wak-tt.com/links/links.htm he's based in the UK but the TT was a huge success in Brittan, big club over there. As far as the intake goes it came from a now closed company called "Mod-Shack", it's basically a fiber board "can" with a conical air cleaner in it. I like it because it's efficient and quite. On the trim I'm thinking your asking about the grill on my first two TTs you can find that at www.lltek.com/caract_TT_8N.htm hope that helps, ask more if you'd like.

I figured it was the closest that i could get to a short wheelbased audi with a 1.8t 20v engine. But now im thinking it's the audi tt 225. The only thing is i need to daily the carand i dont know if it would be a dailyable car.

    • @hrg3design905
      @hrg3design905  ปีที่แล้ว

      All the everyday maintenance is always first on the list. Everything from rebuilding the bushing in the front & rear suspension, when I do timing belts I do the entire front of the engine (all three of our Audis have the 1.8t engines), latest little repair for my TT is the after-run pump stopped working...part from FCP in the mail as we speak. As far as skiing that is what the 2001 A4 Avant is for, it's custom plate is "4SCHNAY".

      @hrg3design905 I bought a new 2000 A6 2.7T with a 6 speed. I loved the car until a turbo bearing blew out in four years at 85k. The dealer wanted $7500 to replace both turbos. I had to sell it to a mechanic for $3000. With snow tires, it could climb anything.

      @@hrg3design905 How would you rate the automatic to the manual for reliability?

    • @hrg3design905
      @hrg3design905  ปีที่แล้ว

      Manual every time!!! The TT 3.2 come only with the DSG transmission and the mectronic box scares the life out of me, fails a lot and is expensive. A very good friend of mine bought a '11 A4 Avant B8 with the 8 speed auto, and changing the automitic trany fluid takes a rocket engineer (look it up) good thing he is on. If you treat you manual correctly, no rushing shifts, double clutch on downshifting, change the fluids you good to go. Out 01 A4 Avant has 154K on it, my wifes TT has 138K one it, mine is just a little behind here at 137K. No clutch trouble either.

    But I am really afraid the painting of the interior will release toxic chemicals in form of gas during time. In the beginning you may not notice any effect at yourself, but the symptomes of that can be very diffuse depending on each individual. Affecting the nerval system the consequences are very serious and may not be reversal by any medical treatment.

    • @hrg3design905

      Hummm...the only "painted" panels in the car now are the coves in the doors, the rest of the blue is vinyl. Thank you for the warning, but all automotive interiors are a toxic mix of mold release, petrochemical everything, that "new car" smell. That film that is on the interior windows on all car is off gassing. So too late for all of us.
