I read the books and to be honest the TV show is, strangely, way better..in my opinion. It's more romantic, has more depth, passion....the books were extremely detailed but I found the story kinda "cold". The show is so romantic and full of things, happy and sad..rral. Such a great work they all did.
The way he smiles.. it is with his eyes. That is why it is easy to assume they are dating in real life. They are actually mature enough to understand a good professional relationship is better than dating and then the scenes would really awkward. He has these bedroom eyes and you note that he looks intensely into those whom he is speaking to.. he can get any girl he wants and hope he finds his true love like claire and jamie did

I watched their first audition tape together, when they were still looking for their " Claire", and they had only just met. They had a natural chemistry then. And the bond and deep friendship that has developed between them over the years is so wonderfully evident today. They are a joy to watch.

Caitriona seems the most relaxed of the two when they are together, she is a 100% genuine and her smile shows how much love and respects she has for Sam. Sam is more reserved than her and yet his admiration for her is a glow. Their friendship is everything, it melts my heart. Of course we would love to see them date but as colleagues I find it pure the trust between them. Friendship is precious!!!!

I just started watching recently on Netflix. I'm hooked on the series. I've cried so many times too.. it's amazing how the actors can portray the love between Jamie and Claire so fiercely. This is an amazing lovestory.

Has anyone in here seen that film clip where Caitriona addresses this and says, "We couldn't be a couple and be a couple on screen; it wouldn't work." And then Sam quickly chimes in and says, "We could try." They call that "first utterances". I think he wants or wanted to at some point, and she thought it just wouldn't work. And YES!! I agree with all of you who say the eyes don't lie. You just can't hide it. They love each other and in that special way. But I love them both to death and wish Caitriona all the best on her engagement. Thanks for all the hundreds of hours of joy you have brought to our entertainment life.

Two actors with high professionalism and mutual admiration and respect. They do like each other and reinforce each other to make their performances highly believable. I think that is best maintained by them not being married, not having to deal with all the business and the mundane that goes with that, and staying in long, slow "maybe this is courtship" mode in their real lives. That keeps the tension of possibility that people love to watch and think about. It's a wonderful synergy of choices they have made and it is magic. Great credit to them for truly exceptional work together.

The first few years in all the interviews they look in Love. The last interviews and times they are together they sometimes sit next to someone else or have a lot of room between their chairs. Makes me Sad- miss that loving look he use to give her
exactly, especially from sam's side, he used to be so comfortable with her and always laughing and goofing around with cait but in last interviews he's very serious and not an open person towards cait anymore maybe because of the fans idk

My daughter had Burkitts Lymphoma when she was 16. We didn't know if she was going to survive. It was a very difficult time in our lives. She had many complications but she pulled through. It helped that I was a nurse and could take care of her myself. She is going to be 38 on her next birthday which is January 26. Thank you for all you do to help everyone with lymphoma and leukemia.💙

They are just so comfortable together. Maybe more comfortable than I've ever been with my own husband. How is it possible that they aren't really a couple in love with each other. I don't want to look like some weird fan who thinks a show is the same as real life, but it just looks so genuine, even off stage. Having a hard time believing that..."Oh it's all just acting." If it is then "DAMN"! It is exceptional for sure.
Don't worry Vickie, it's their behaviour off set that makes you think they are a couple not their chemistry on set, I can easily see the difference between the characters and the people, it's something more than just acting and more than just a friendship, it's natural like breathe and you can't hide it.
