Words can’t describe just how tedious and painful this job truly was. The end results make me love the car even more. But man, never again 😂😂
💯
i paid a local shop to do it, 250 quote. 7 days later, Mutiple broken tools and bolts then a 700$ bill and a "We are never working on another elantra again" Glad i didnt even try to follow a yt tut lol
@@kennykedits if you are in one of the EN groups, I remember seeing a post similar to that lol. Biggest reason I didn’t want to risk it.
@mrx9844 Yeah that's me lol, Just find a shop that specializes in race car stuff or get a shop recommendation from someone else who got it done
Big effort. The down pipe is a great mod, not just performance or sound but less heat and more longevity for engine and components
Absolutely, its just such a painful thing to do with the motor in the car.
Shot out to your pops..he's the go to person when needing just about anything on car related..awesome job well done..
Thanks 🙏
This was well done. I cut my heat shield also
Thanks!
For the 360 cam have it lock onto the decal to stop the spin
@flcl_tx yeah, usually I do, but the sunset was pretty so I didn’t mind it panning out.
well done mate, would you be able to tell me the length of that little extension? i'm considering getting that extension made as i'm from Australia and just getting the downpipe separately
The extension has a mini catalyst in it to keep the high flow cat from settling codes. You’ll need to buy one with swappable orifices to adjust the gas flow to the sensor until it works.
@@MurphysLawGarage sorry i meant the short extension piece between the xforce dp and the midpipe
Aw they are happy at the start of the video. Lets see how long this lasts 😆
….not very 💀
@@MurphysLawGarage Thanks for the video though. Definitely not a job for the faint of heart.
No problem
@@andywiththen I think it lasted all of maybe 30 minutes or so lol
They put the turbo at the back for better weight distribution. That cast iron manifold and turbo weight a lot! You want as much weight rearward as possible.
Just an excuse for neater packaging on a global platform drivetrain, engineers can easily move the wheelbase/firewall etc to accommodate the weight balance. 100% cost management to give you a turbo car on an NA primary chassis.
holy toledo that install was a total pain... had to take that sound insulation out, also broke a stud had to remove the turbo and get it drilled out.... I do have a question.... have you had to deal with any p013a code or p2261 codes? any solutions
You need to get a tune for the DP
Did you replace the OEM downpipe heat shield with anything over the x force pipe?
No, its bare
@@MurphysLawGarage any issues at all?
@Jackistheripper nope
What part of louisiana you guys from?
Houma - Deep South
Does it smell? I had a catless downpipe on my old mazdaspeed3 and hated it!
This has a cat, and yes it still smells.
What o2 sensor socket you use how many mm I can’t find it and been trying to find it

@@MurphysLawGarage any install videos ? I been trying to just get a idea to see how people install it
Install what, the 02 sensor??
@@MurphysLawGarage the whole downpipe
@305orlando5 this is the install video your commenting on. We explain well what it takes to
Spent 14hr without success getting a shop to install
It’s a serious PIA, the shop should’ve just dropped the motor/subframe - thats what I would do if I had a lift.
With a resonator and stainless steel midpipe it will sound better. Too tinny, raspy with the current setup.
Thats why it sounds good - don’t trust what you hear on a camera mic. Its viral and aggressive rather than bumbly.
Hows the smell vs stock with the 200 cell substrate on the xforce?
Like an old Ford that needs a tune up.
@@MurphysLawGarage I'll take that as not good..lol!
It doesn’t bother me, I’d rather open header, but I’m sure some people would be.
