Another excellent interview. Outside of "The System" releases, for those still discovering their work, I strongly advise you check these out: Attitude LP - inc I Wanna Get To Know You Better/Love Me Tonight, Howard Johnson LP - inc Let's Take Time Out/Much Too Much (plus the Sass version)/Let This Dream Be Real, Scritti Politi LPs 1984/1985, Mtume LPs - Juicy Fruit and You Me & He, and a couple of 12" obscurities few collectors are aware of, both top notch 1984 electro, Dr Otto & His Patients - The Beef, Kamikaze - Tokyo Rose. Big thanks to Scott once again.

I want to give The System their flowers now. Don't Disturb this Groove is my favorite song of all times. That melody is timeless and it led to so many great samples such as 2pac Lost Souls, Ucb Sexy Lady, Jim Jones My Life, Money Mafia We Doin Something, and Chille Powdah Pleasure just to name a few. Thank you for your contributions.

Same, I vividly remember that playing like crazy on the radio in the 80s in the same age as you.

Respect both of your opion but perhaps it me but if your 35 wouldn't you have been two years old . Are do you mean hearing the song over the years .

@@carlburton3152 I'm 40 but I remember stuff going back to 1985 (as evidence by pictures with the date I've found) and remember 86 when I was 2 very well. I was always considered to be very concious, intellegent, and attentive for my age back then. The 80's were my favorite time hands down. The TV shows (Alf, The A-Team, etc), Cartoons, Music, A lot of my family having Jheri Curls LOL (Can still smell the activator!). Besides, Don't Disturb This groove played like crazy well into the 90's so we would have heard it in either decade played a lot. That song is one of many from that era and before it that was on heavy rotation. if you were in a car or listening to any radio that's one of the ones you could count on hearing being played at least once. EDIT: Also remember Soul Train was LAW. We heard everything hot weekly and watched artists perform right from the living room TV as small kids on up.

Love these guys. I was at a session with Andre Betts and Mic was there and I was in the booth recording and he left before I could meet him. Love Dave!! He layed the groundwork for synth during that time and even after. Unfortunately the copiers that followed and these guys sequencing today just don't have the musical chops to f**k with him
