Hello, many thanks for your efforts Dr, Mohammad. Does the H0 always mean nothing or does it actually stand for the current believe so if the current belief is that drug X is better than the Y drug, but I think the opposite, my research question is "Is drug Y better than drug X?" so the null hypothesis here will be "there is no difference between drug X and Y" or it will be "drug X is better than drug Y"?
شكرا جزيلا على الشرح الرائع ممكن إجابة هذا السؤال من فضلك If a null hypothesis about a population mean, µ, is rejected at the 0.025 level of significance, it must be rejected at the 0.01 level. Is this statement true or false?
Hello Dr, Mohammed thank you so much. What do you think about this: You may have observed that when p0.05 they accept the null hypothesis. Is p=0.051 very different from 0.049? Both contain similar amounts of evidence against the null hypothesis. We do NOT recommend this approach.
There are some criticism in literature regarding the use of p-value. Some recommend focusing on the confidence interval instead. I don't think researchers will stop using the p-value due to its easy to understand and use criteria. However, we don't just think that the p-value is significant or not, we need to report its value which gives a good idea regarding the strength of the evidence. Reporting the confidence interval with the p-value helps alot and much recommended.
