This show was called "Classmates", and this was with the first class of the Rock academy . A several other students of this class are famous in the Netherlands, but she is the only one who made it internationale. She is beautiful person.......... I am a 67 year old Dutchman who became a fan of Nightwish when Floor joined them.
Henk Ras No. If you are Dutch (like me) than you should know better.... Klasgenoten ('Classmates') was another Dutch show with exactly the same principle. This show with Floor however was not called Klasgenoten but called De Reunie wich translates in English as "The Reunion|". And it is also about reuniting old classmates. Hence the classroom setting. In this case the class of 1999 (the first year this academy was established) from the Rock Academy in Tilburg, Netherlands.

A great Dutch TV show from a very diffenent time in The Netherlands with GREAT presenter Koos Postema. This show was better than all the clones that came after it. Koos is still alive and kicking at 90 years old! A monument of Dutch television for sure. Respect.

I go through all the emotions...pride, joy, compassion, love, admiration... and every time I see her start to cry I break into tears myself; I truly can not see this wonderful human being so emotional without it breaking my heart, even if it is in a good way...Why? I guess becouse I must truly love her, not only as a extremely talented singer, but as a person... I am a member of Floor's fanclub, and have never been in any fanclub before in my 54 years. Floor is really one of the sweetest and most humble people you will ever talk to. We get to have private chats with her from time to time, and I always gush over how great she is and she always thanks me with a smile, but she is so humble. She does not see herself nearly as great as we see her. She says all the time, I am just Floor.
This video exemplifies why so many of us LOVE and ADORE Floor...not only is she otherworldly talented, but is a genuine, wonderful, humble, all around nice human being, despite being a superstar...I don't think you can fake that with as much as she is in the public eye.

Floor doesn't really play 2 roles, she is the same person onstage as she is off. That's what makes her one of the most beautiful people I know. But the most amazing part about this 6 foot, Dutch Goddess of all things vocal, is that she can command the crowd just by spreading her arms, have them all eating from her hand, and have the most epic stage presence. But then she gets off the stage and you watch this interview and see her walking down the street with this guy..... then, suddenly "feel" how human she really is. Such a beautiful human being! By the way.... wish Floor a happy 10th Nightwish birthday, it was Oct. 1st. Floor walked onto the stage with Nightwish for the first time on 1 October 2012 in Seattle, Washington, USA. Lovely reaction. Most female metal singers are like Floor in real life, very humble and down to earth. You can find many interviews and off stage moments with singers such as Simone Simons, Charlotte Wessels, Anneke van Giersbergan, Sharon den Adel, Alissa White-Gluz, Jennifer Haben, Doro Pesch. The contrast to pop and rap stars is remarkable.

Floor is such a beautiful, humble, down to earth soul. A thoroughly decent person. Watch some of her 'Storytime' videos she put out during lockdown. No big 'Diva' type vulgar displays of wealth, she was showing off her vegetable garden and feeding the animals. It is easy to see why her parents are so proud of her, she is a credit to both of them.

I was a bit disappointed that the show I saw them at this tour did not have a meet and greet option, so I never got to really meet any of them, but you can just tell by the way they act on stage that they are ALL very humble. They appreciate their fans 100%. I have meet some mussicians (I will not name) that were great at what they did but they had the attitude of "You should be thanking me, that I make music for you to enjoy" One of them said that to me and I never listened to another of their songs again.
Hello from the Netherlands . there is a small summary of Nightwish & Floor 10 years together released by the official Nightwish channel on TH-cam have you seen it yet ? . and have you seen the official Nightwish Documentary : "please learn the setlist in 48 hours" ? this explains how everything went behind the scenes at Nightwish and with the arrival of Floor . So Floor was called at her sister's wedding, packing bags, a 3-3.5 hour flight to America, and learning and memorizing the set list of 15 songs she didn't know and had never heard of the new album within 48 hours and or learn so well with all the lyrics that you can sing them even after 48 hours . thanks for the video . Floor was just coming out of her burnout when nightwish called. She hadn't done any music with her band Revamp for over a year so she was literally jumping into the lions den cold performance wise accepting the nightwish gig.
Floor had a very long career before Nightwish. She mentioned in this interview how devastating it was for her when her band After Forever broke up. I can't believe you still haven't reacted to Floor in After Forever!!! She was in After Forever for 12 years!!!. She joined AF at the very young age of 16... She was at her best and in her peak in this native Dutch band and thought it would last Forever. The break up of After Froever broke her as well. Some time after she started a new band but soon after had a burnout as she mentioned. At the end of that burnout she was asked to join Nightwish. But still many fans that already knew Floor in After Forever consider those 12 years as her best. She made the music SHE wanted. After Forever gave her a platform of her own natural musical taste in a way Nightwish never did in quite the same way. Everything about Floor is interesting. These videos showing her simple life in the countryside, with her husband, daughter and animals are proof of this. We can see Floor riding a horse, taking care of the plants and even building a fence.

Floor behaves as almost every Dutch person is raised. That is with the credo "Act normally" engraved on the inside of your eye lenses. Both feet on the ground and if you just act normal, you act crazy enough. So typically Dutch! :-)

Excellent commentary. Floor also makes me tear up. Floor’s shoes for that concert had white unicorns for heels. I don’t know if you have a new camera, but the picture looks a little washed out. Perhaps a slight decrease in brightness and a slight increase in contrast will bring it back to what it looked like a week ago. I like to see my favorite reactors in all their radiant glory. 😄🤘

In that class from the rock-academie where also Jaqueline Govaarts (Ayreon-Temple of the cat) and Danny Vera (Google it;) and more national Dutch known artists. Maybe you like Anneke van Giersbergen (The Gathering, Devin Townsend, VUUR) too, a major influence for Floor.
in this video you can see why she got a wolf-tattoo behind one ear and a domesticated dog behind the other. She is both, just not at the same time ;-) To put things into perspective. Metal is not really a thing in the Netherlands. It's condemned to be a subculture that is ignored by mainstream media for about half a century now. When this show aired hardly anyone in the Netherlands knew Floor or Nightwish. Only with Beste Zangers Floor managed to create some wormhole where you can travel between those alternate realities. Normally in this show there is only one famous person reunited with his/her old classmates, but since this class is the Rock Academy, there were several famous singers from the same class.

Lovely reaction. Most female metal singers are like Floor in real life, very humble and down to earth. You can find many interviews and off stage moments with singers such as Simone Simons, Charlotte Wessels, Anneke van Giersbergan, Sharon den Adel, Alissa White-Gluz, Jennifer Haben, Doro Pesch. The contrast to pop and rap stars is remarkable.

this was a reunion. Those were her old classmates when she attended the very 1st School of Rock she is the most successful graduate in the school's history. Its ok because when I see Floor cry I do also
Not sure about that. The guy sitting next to her is in the Wu-Tang Clan. So she does have some competition in the most succesfull department from that year of the Rock Academy

Floor is such a beautiful, humble, down to earth soul. A thoroughly decent person. Watch some of her 'Storytime' videos she put out during lockdown. No big 'Diva' type vulgar displays of wealth, she was showing off her vegetable garden and feeding the animals. It is easy to see why her parents are so proud of her, she is a credit to both of them.

I was a bit disappointed that the show I saw them at this tour did not have a meet and greet option, so I never got to really meet any of them, but you can just tell by the way they act on stage that they are ALL very humble. They appreciate their fans 100%. I have meet some mussicians (I will not name) that were great at what they did but they had the attitude of "You should be thanking me, that I make music for you to enjoy" One of them said that to me and I never listened to another of their songs again.

So Floor was called at her sister's wedding,
packing bags,
a 3-3.5 hour flight to America,
and learning and memorizing the set list of 15 songs she didn't know and had never heard of the new album within 48 hours
and or learn so well with all the lyrics that you can sing them even after 48 hours .

10years Floor with Nightwish and counting!
Floor was just coming out of her burnout when nightwish called.
She hadn't done any music with her band Revamp for over a year so she was literally jumping into the lions den cold performance wise accepting the nightwish gig.
Floor had a very long career before Nightwish. She mentioned in this interview how devastating it was for her when her band After Forever broke up. I can't believe you still haven't reacted to Floor in After Forever!!! She was in After Forever for 12 years!!!. She joined AF at the very young age of 16... She was at her best and in her peak in this native Dutch band and thought it would last Forever. The break up of After Froever broke her as well. Some time after she started a new band but soon after had a burnout as she mentioned. At the end of that burnout she was asked to join Nightwish. But still many fans that already knew Floor in After Forever consider those 12 years as her best. She made the music SHE wanted. After Forever gave her a platform of her own natural musical taste in a way Nightwish never did in quite the same way. Everything about Floor is interesting. These videos showing her simple life in the countryside, with her husband, daughter and animals are proof of this. We can see Floor riding a horse, taking care of the plants and even building a fence.
@@300672 Yeah .. where she complains that her arms are not REALLY that big .. that just being the way the camera showed them .. and then she starts pounding fence posts into the ground with a 10 lb sledge hammer. :)

Floor behaves as almost every Dutch person is raised. That is with the credo "Act normally" engraved on the inside of your eye lenses. Both feet on the ground and if you just act normal, you act crazy enough.

Excellent commentary. Floor also makes me tear up. Floor’s shoes for that concert had white unicorns for heels. I don’t know if you have a new camera, but the picture looks a little washed out. Perhaps a slight decrease in brightness and a slight increase in contrast will bring it back to what it looked like a week ago. I like to see my favorite reactors in all their radiant glory. 😄🤘

Tuomos said that if Floor leaves, Nightwish will retire. I'm not sure that is true but you never know. Floor has said that with Nighwish, she is home.
In that class from the rock-academie where also Jaqueline Govaarts (Ayreon-Temple of the cat) and Danny Vera (Google it;) and more national Dutch known artists. Maybe you like Anneke van Giersbergen (The Gathering, Devin Townsend, VUUR) too, a major influence for Floor.

in this video you can see why she got a wolf-tattoo behind one ear and a domesticated dog behind the other. She is both, just not at the same time ;-)
To put things into perspective. Metal is not really a thing in the Netherlands. It's condemned to be a subculture that is ignored by mainstream media for about half a century now. When this show aired hardly anyone in the Netherlands knew Floor or Nightwish. Only with Beste Zangers Floor managed to create some wormhole where you can travel between those alternate realities.
Normally in this show there is only one famous person reunited with his/her old classmates, but since this class is the Rock Academy, there were several famous singers from the same class.
This is the first klas whit her klas members from the acedemy .
