    Beautiful art work. Loved the Unwaxed Deli Paper idea and also using it to sketch over the paper onto wet paint leaving a design from the under painting color as well as another collage piece on the Deli Paper. Great idea.

    Love the video Jacqui, it's exactly what I was hoping to find, both from what materials you use for the collage element & how you use them! Also your painting style & philosophy, especially with the chance element, are very refreshing & informative. I am transitioning, somewhat, from a heavy mixed media collage emphasis to a more painterly themed work, but I want to maintain certain elements of collage, when effective or needed. You have a very easy, relaxed presence in your instruction!

    Liked others commenting here, I love the method you use. I use a lot of gel plate pieces but I work over them , using them as a starting point for intuitive painting. I haven’t torn them up and used them in this way.. So, I’m going to.get my.mono prints out and use them as collage in my paintings 😅 . Many thanks

    Your work is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your process. I have a question: when you create something, is it because of a need to create and for your own pleasure, or are you making something in order to sell it? and if yes, does that affect what you make ? ie that it should be “sellable”.

    • @jacquibeck1878
      @jacquibeck1878  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There have been times over the years when I have tried to make art that I thought was more likely to sell, but I can’t remember a time when that led me to make art that I loved or enjoyed making. It also didn’t lead to art that excited other people.
      I’ve stopped doing commissions for that reason too.
      The paintings I’ve made that I like the most are ones that came out of me when I was most real and connected to my inner self. These were also the ones I most enjoyed making. Sometimes they sold or won awards, and sometimes they didn’t sell because I decided to keep them for myself.
      I really think it’s best to paint for ourselves, from our true selves. That doesn’t mean these will always be ‘good’ paintings (whatever that means), but they will be the most personal and real paintings.

      We’re having trouble finding it here now. You might want to try using tissue paper - the kind you can use to wrap gifts. Only use white. Coloured tissue paper fades.

      Amazon ( here in the US) has in on their website but they are currently out of stock. I hope some starts to have it soon. It’s the best I’ve found for making collage paper. I tried tissue paper but it’s quite fragile and tears easily. I’ve seen ‘heavy tissue paper’ online but it’s more expensive than deli paper. Let me know if you find anything. 🌞⛄️

It seems to only be available in cartons of 10 boxes. I have made a few suggestions in the supply list, and if anyone finds individual boxes (of 1000 sheets), please share where you found it.
