Napoleon did one dirty trick back when he was emperor. The tsar believed him & met at Austerlitz, the Austrian empire During the battle of Austerlitz, Napolean retreated from the high ground and the Russians took it. Only for them to realise it was a deception tactic as that is what Napolean wanted Thanks to the fog, his army surrounded them & the Russians were forced to retreat giving Napolean the victory
Regarding the first part (switching the ammo with overcharged rounds): Just incase anyone is interested in exactly what the catastrophic failure of a firearm and the damage it can do to the user, the channel/"Gun-tuber" 'Kentuckyballistics" has several videos of different guns being blown up using overcharged rounds, including the AK-47! And to help picture just how insanely high pressure the rounds were that the MACV-SOG units were sabotaging the ammo supplied with, there's two videos in which Kentuckyballistics blows up .50cal rifles, which normally use rounds with an average operating pressure of 55,000psi, the one he uses to cause the rapid disassembly of the .50's is overcharged to about 190,000 psi.. MACV-SOG were by all accounts making rounds with upwards of 250,000psi.. and in a cartridge thats more than half the size of a .50cal round.. That's insane.. that would have been like a grenade going off in your hand/in your face.
And that is also after he had an accident that almost killed him involving a defective overpressured 50 BMG round that blew up his serbu RN50 single shot rifle.

I think it was in the Iraq-Iran war . They would have children hold each other's hands, standing side by side. Then they were told to march forward across mine fields. They used them to clear minefields this way , for the troops
The action to release Mussolini was designed as a PR promotion, as can be seen from the photos where the Italian guards are photographed together with the German paratroopers .
I read once about a bunch of prisoners somewhere who would get tattoos of Jesus and Mary on their chest, as there was a similar law about desecrating an image of them, and the prisoners stopped their own executions, bc firing squad was the only method, and the condemned were shot in the heart.
Forgot about Byzantine blinding, the byzantines would take thousands of Bulgarian pow's and round them in groups of 100. 99 would have both eyes gouged out, while the 100th men would have 1 eye gouged out to lead the Bulgarians home. When tsar Samuel of Bulgaria saw his troops, he died of a heart attack.

That's because your combat veterans were born in the modern era. Guerilla warfare wasn't always commonplace, y'know. There were some folks had honor back then. Just look up the combat of the thirty
Honor in combat is such a dumb concept any way. There is no honor in killing someone, so might as well just get the job done in the most efficient way possible.

I’m kinda surprised that he didn’t talk about (or even mention) Operation Wandering Soul from the Vietnam War. This was a tape recording, labeled “Ghost Tape #10” and was a recording of ghostly wines and cries that the US played on full blast on loud speakers in helicopters over the enemy. The goal was to scare the Vietnam soldiers forcing them to give away their positions. It was based on the Vietnam’s belief that after a person dies their soul will haunt people if they are not properly buried.
In Afghanistan 🇦🇫 when we fought against the soviets we would stick a lamp to a dozen of goats and send them towards the enemy at nights the soviets would think that they were enemies and waste all of their bullets on the goats and we would attack from the other side 😂

War is total. There is no such thing as a "dirty" trick, since those "tricks" may cause you to keep your life through the encounter. No matter the method in how war is waged, it is horrible nonetheless. Anyone who eschews a "dirty fight" or tactics is probably in line with there being an "honorable" fight. The British learned this quickly in the 1700's after Americans started adopting Native American camouflaging/cover techniques instead of standing tall in an open field wearing red jackets with 50+ of your closest friends shoulder-to-shoulder. The British considered taking cover "Dirty" as well. Look how well that worked for them.
that ammo sabotage trick... How do I dissuade bike thieves from stealing Bike Lock? that will just make them jump to another bike to steal. Brake lock? sabotage the brakes from functioning if I am not using it. either that will teach them a lesson, or think twice about stealing an unlocked bike next time.
Love the old meme of the yeet seat bicycle anti-theft device, basically the meme showed a person cutting open their bike seat and sticking petn explosives into it, sewing it back up and putting a barbecue grill igniter as a trigger. So that way when the thief sat on the seat it would set off the explosives
@@coolsnake1134 As much as I would like to do that, That sounds like the shotgun door booby trap that was featured in simple history. Using lethal methods to dissuade perpetrators, which could possibly lead to a lawsuit if they do survive or if somebody witness it. At least the way I am planning to do it, Is to make the perpetrator be more vulnerable to getting into an accident In considering they value their escape more than being safe, they won't be getting away.
Invading with napalm is scary because it can just fall out of the sky while it lands and sticks on people and houses burning everything and spreading in your home town and you can’t do anything to stop it.
One kills more than people, it kills entire sections of forest which contain vital wild life which can cause a inbalance and even worse conditions to everybody else living within said location. the other while still cruel it only goes towards enemy soldiers and not anyone else
Interesting, I didn't know that about Iraq/Afghanistan. If you Google search "last photo combat camera", you'll see the last photo that a US soldier took as a mortar round exploded in the tube. Story will be with the photo. I wonder if that's the real truth behind that occurrence.
It did, my dad served in the cambodian war, and he worked in the office and they treated him like an enemy (he was a southerner) and earned the respect of the officers in the office when he discovered 3 different defective rounds. It seems the Mag V Sogs missions were too effective 😅😂 Because they blamed the Chinese until like 2012
The doctoring of weapons was first documented during the Malaya Insurgency (1950’s) rifle barrels found by British Army were slightly bent to ensure they exploded a bit easier than replacing propellant
A group of rivals were kidnapped and the lone survivor was dressed like a cop, shot and left on street. When officers arrived a nearby car bomb went off.
About the Germans in GI uniforms, i highly recommend the amazing book The Crusaders by Stefan Heym. Why this book and Young Lions by Irvine Shaw aren't more widely known is beyond me. Reading these books is a lot more like like reading a diary or watching a documentary.
As an Iranian, my father told me about these tactics, my father even told me they used some kind of agent that smelled like food, that would lead them to mustard gas.
My grandfather was awarded 5 bronze starts, 3 with valor, and a silver star. He was a Sgt. Major, who fought in Korea, and 4 tours in Vietnam. He was one of the first 500 Americans sent to Vietnam as an advisor. He was with a small attachment of south Vietnamese troops, and was one of only 3 americans on this patrol. They had reports of a patrol of around 50 NVA troops coming there way. They sent scouts, and soon learned that it was closer to 300 NVA troops. They were outnumbered and were low on ammo, but had plenty of explosives and det cord. They expected the NVA to come thru a narrow valley, on their way south. They lined explosives in 3 X patterns thru the valley, across about 100 yards and had claymores on both sides of the valley, all was connected with detenation cord, and had troops on the hills of both sides. They waited for the NVA to come thru the valley, and from a single detonator, caused a massive series of explosions, eliminated almost of the enemy at once. Troops picked off the few survivors, and took many prisoners. They also got a lot of valuable intel from captured NVA. He was awarded the bronze star with valor, and the paperwork that comes with that award is quite fun to read. The story of his silver star is also a good read, but is a story for another day.

I think it was in the Iraq-Iran war . They would have children hold each other's hands, standing side by side. Then they were told to march forward across mine fields. They used them to clear minefields this way , for the troops
Wow sad I heard stories about like that from Vietnam war to
Probably afghanistan. They'll blow up their own children with a suicide vest. They don't care. They're evil.

In Soviet gulags, prisoners would get chest tattoos of Stalin and Lenin for the same reason.
You have one of the best narrators on TH-cam. Keep this guy for as long as you can.
I’m honestly shocked that you guys didn’t mention The Byzantine Blinding.
That happened after the war was over though. I think they actually talked about it in an older video about brutal punishments.

There is no such thing as a fair fight. I learned that from Combat Veterans.
There’s only survival.
That's because your combat veterans were born in the modern era. Guerilla warfare wasn't always commonplace, y'know. There were some folks had honor back then. Just look up the combat of the thirty
@@rynun7620 I don’t see much honor in standing in a straight line getting mowed down while the people telling you to stand there are far away.

So long as they don't drag civis almost all dirty tactics seemed to be a viable option and to not use them is stupid
I love your channel keep up the great stuff
that ammo sabotage trick...
How do I dissuade bike thieves from stealing
Bike Lock? that will just make them jump to another bike to steal.
Brake lock? sabotage the brakes from functioning if I am not using it.
either that will teach them a lesson, or think twice about stealing an unlocked bike next time.

As much as I would like to do that, That sounds like the shotgun door booby trap that was featured in simple history.
Using lethal methods to dissuade perpetrators, which could possibly lead to a lawsuit if they do survive or if somebody witness it.
At least the way I am planning to do it, Is to make the perpetrator be more vulnerable to getting into an accident
In considering they value their escape more than being safe, they won't be getting away.
Awesome video and content.
What's dirtier: an invading force using napalm, or a defending force using pungee pits?
Invading with napalm is scary because it can just fall out of the sky while it lands and sticks on people and houses burning everything and spreading in your home town and you can’t do anything to stop it.
Pungee pits won't cause a wild fire.
Also agent orange and white phosporus
One kills more than people, it kills entire sections of forest which contain vital wild life which can cause a inbalance and even worse conditions to everybody else living within said location. the other while still cruel it only goes towards enemy soldiers and not anyone else
Or poisoning their crops and food supply.
The Battle of the Marshes one was just plain brutal. Clever, but brutal.

Interesting, I didn't know that about Iraq/Afghanistan. If you Google search "last photo combat camera", you'll see the last photo that a US soldier took as a mortar round exploded in the tube. Story will be with the photo. I wonder if that's the real truth behind that occurrence.
Man-of-wars used to flag different, paint their ships different colors and further change their appearance to trick the enemy.

It did, my dad served in the cambodian war, and he worked in the office and they treated him like an enemy (he was a southerner) and earned the respect of the officers in the office when he discovered 3 different defective rounds. It seems the Mag V Sogs missions were too effective 😅😂 Because they blamed the Chinese until like 2012
Dad still dreams of playing "Fortunate Son" over the fields of Vietnam.

God Bless you and your family and your grandfather .!!
