- With Gabriel Jesus reportedly not willing to extend his current Manchester City deal that expires in 2023 he could be on the move in the summer. Reportedly chased by a lot of big European clubs including Bayern Munich, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund, join me today on Statman Dave Clips as I take a look at how he could fit in at Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and the benefits the Brazilian would experience if he linked up with his former coach.

Didn’t even think about Jesus 3 months ago. Would rather have him than any of the other options. Probably cheapest, basically no adaptation period, and then he’s a solid player. It would be really interesting to see him as a first choice 9.

Martinelli imo can be a striker. Smith Rowe out on the left (if Jesus gets injured!)
A stat I find interesting is that Jesus only has about 2000 more PL minutes than Saka. I think Jesus has a sneaky high ceiling and is only going to get better

No doubt he is the best option. Past history with Arteta is important, Arteta can get fickle on players, a player can find himself on the outs quick with him. Without a doubt, he can get tons of playing time in North London. This is important for the build up to the World Cup.
you are wrong and you are jumping the gun. Just because your favourites like Auba and Ozil etc didn't work out with Arteta, it doesn't mean he "can get fickle on players" as you are trying to call it. The culture and standard that has been set may not to be everyone's taste like yours but most of the bad eggs have left now.

If we could also get Ivan Toney, Tielemens & Bissouma as well. Then wow just wow. That’ll probably be just over 100 mil but will definitely be worth it.
Ivan Toney is a good option to have. depending on the type of opponents ,we can either have Jesus or Toney as our lone striker. In midfield my dream is to get Frankie De Jong. He is very versatile can act as a pivot together with Partey or more attacking option upfront as a 8.
@@jjtop20 sorry mate but de jong is never coming to arsenal 😂. Toney at arsenal I think will elevate his game 100%. Tielemens I think will struggle or be a let down, same with Tammy, got a feeling they will disappoint. Bissouma is a great option as well.

I like this option a lot. I also like him as cover for the other forward positions. It's a flexible and functional choice. Arteta is particular about who he works with and what he expects, so probably better to have a player he has a good relationship with.
Especially after the big signing of Pepe has largely turned out to be a failure.

I think this would be great business for Arsenal if they sign a more physical striker who also has some technique alongside Gabriel Jesus. I think his versatility would help Arsenal cover mulitple positions and I just have a personal inkling that he would be great off the left wing. That would make the squad more competitive as Martinelli has more competition and could make it so that ESR spends more time in the midfield where I think he has a more consistent impact (he is still good off the left though)
ESR has been better for us off the left than he is when in the midfield. The only way ESR should be in the midfield is if we have an out and out DM in the midfield like a Bissouma. Cuz we lose a lot of ground when we have both ESR and Odegaard playing

I can’t oversell his stats - that’s playing for Man City where they have 70% possession, countless chances. Still he’d be a great signing for 30m ready to go in the Prem. Great fit

Isak looks an exciting player on the ball dribbling wise but he hasn’t looked reliable at goal scoring in a very decent Sociedad team it would be interesting to see him come to Arsenal but for 70mil we can have cheaper options which still bring more quality
Isak isn't a good finisher. He isn't clinical at all. Please let Arsenal stay well away from him. My personal preference will be Patrick Schick

We need another quality CM and RB as well as a striker or 2 depending on what happens with Lacazette in the summer also need to recall Saliba the more quality we have on the bench the better but Arteta needs to keep rotating the players reguLrly like Pep does as it stops players getting rusty and lacking fitness not to mention the confidence it gives.
I think Martinelli is going to benefit massively from having Jesus in the team with him, saka too
Jesus as a starter and scamacca (sp) to come of the bench. He would offer something different which every good team needs.
What I love about Jesus is his insane work rate. He literally can run the whole game with immense intensity. His also quite versatile which is really nice. His goal record is pretty dope for Man City especially considering the rotation and positions his been played in.
I think given that he's only got 12 months on his contract, if he's willing to come, then we should be able to get him for less than 40 million maybe evn around 30 million. This would mean I would 100% take him but I do feel that if we're losing Lacazette we need another striker with hold up play and physicality like Nunez. So if we can get Jesus for around 30 million maybe we can get another striker with better hold up play potentially. I don't think most Arsenal fans would be happy with just signing Jesus if we lose both Nketiah and Lacazette. Ideally we would sign Jesus and another top strker, alternatively I wouldn be very happy signing Jesus and extending Laca's contract for another year, will be sorely missed

Sorry bro but the weakest part of Darwin Nunez' game is his hold up play... He's all about pace in behind and raw finishing. His first touch can let him down and he's not particularly aggressive with his back to goal but signing Jesus and extending Lacazette's contract for at least 1 season would be great business imo 🙌

Looks how liverpool sign player. Attacking player mostly has speed. They also convert jota who dont have physical to striker. Gabriel jesus totally not a no 9 player but can be a modern target man. He also can play wing. So we can utilize him more than one position. Will be a good signing if we get him for 40m
For me the main signing this summer has already been made in Fabio Vieira.
I seriously think that Arteta is going for both Raphinha and Jesus is to provide healthy competition for Saka and Martinelli and have them both play out-wide to play Fabio Vieira as the False 9 in a 4-3-3. As he is to be a final third preferring player who likes assisting and scoring.
Raphinha likes to play on the right and Jesus prefers to approach from the left and have a tenacious and petite player in Vieira be a creator or finisher, offering unpredictability. Alot of faith riding on Fabio Vieira i know but could be good.
I was excited when i first heard we was in for Jesus but thinking about it, he has okish stats but that is in a man city team, possibly the best team to ever play in the prem. more possession, way more chances, better players around you make you better, I'd kind of expect a bit more from a city player if we was to sign him but then i guess they wouldn't feel the need to replace him with Haaland if he was good enough, either way i don't see many other options out there without a gamble so who knows, time will tell.
What about Martinelli as an inside forward, Jesus as a 9. Tierney can go back to overloading that flank since Tommy is more of an inside full back and I see him joining the midfield in build up similar to Kyle Walker early in his City days 🤔 Smith-Rowe and Odegaard can compete for the same position (the 10) instead of fitting them in the same team.
Okay it would be nice to have him as a squad player who can come in for various attackers but as a striker he’s not what we need.

Origi can really do a job at Arsenal. Considering the way they play. I think Arsenal should sign both Origi and Jesus. Laca should leave imo but he is a good off the ball striker. 👍

After a few seasons Jesus could have a huge XG at Arsenal after players have developed. Didn't know he was so good at getting high quality shots off. He could score 20+ goals in a prem season.
Arsenal's chance of winning the NLD is less than that of their opponent's; just that Tottenham have a better side. If Spurs play as a team, Arsenal cant live with them. I'm not a football tactician, but if I were Arteta, I'd sit deep and let Spurs have the ball.
Spurs love to run. They are one of the best counter - attacking team in European football. Arsenal should play them at their own game, and let Martinelli, Saka, and Nketiah terrorize their defense.
A word on Nketiah. I was first in line to sell Nketiah, and Pepe, because they brought no intensity to the game when they come on.However, when we played Wolves, Nketiah changed his approach; and as they say, the rest is history. I wish him much more success, and that he move from strength to strength!

I don't dislike the idea of Gabriel Jesus, yet it feels like Arsenal would benefit more from getting a target man in the box for all the crosses that ends up nowhere. Another short striker means they will not have someone to cross to. Jesus would be a fantastic replacement for Lacazette though, I don not doubt that.

The answer is easy let lacazette and pepe go and renew nketiah then buy jesus and diaby. After that we should reinforce that midfied with at least one signing. This is the bare minimum for arsenal to finally compete.

The question here is, whether the owner is willing to spend that kind of money to make the purchase. For the past 2 decades, they hardly spend on players and this has left the club without a single EPL title to show on their trophy cabinet. It is still a big "If" that he would join the club. You can discuss until the cow comes home on how he would hypothetically fit into their formation, but it is to no avail.
I mean they’ve spent a lot over the last 2-3 seasons. They just weren’t spending wisely which is the issue. Last season they changed that and hopefully again this season they’ll make the right signings.

You say that Jesus has no ego issues; when he first came to city there was a massive issue between him and augero about the main starter up front and game time. Over time I think he's matured but if he's going to a "worse" club he's going to want to be the main man.

That's not our formation , laca hasn't been a false 9 at all, that's just how he plays Jesus is a natural striker not a winger , he can play there , yes , but he's predominately a striker , anyone can just crap while showing stats off websites , your analysis is just wrong in every way
